Awesome Zak!

I'll try to let some freinds, in San Diego, know about the event!

Sounds like fun...

But remember to join the GOP as the LP is a dead end. We've made no gains using the 3rd party strategy. It's all warm & fuzzy but no gains and a black hole of lost donations.

Make sure you take over the GOP in San Diego!

The San Diego LP Is Successful

The San Diego LP is among the most successful LP organizations, and could well change public perception. In California the GOP has no chance in statewide races ("conservatives" who want to win join the Democrats), and now voters have done away with party labels altogether; "top-2" has eliminated all but the top two vote-getters from campaigning.

The California LP is suing in court to get our rights to campaign for candidates back--without the LP and other alternative parties, who would do that?

We've made great gains using the alternative party strategy, since it was members of the LP who supported Ron Paul's re-election to Congress year after year (he traveled to speak at our conventions and we had no one else who represented us so well).

Where to put your resources best will probably vary from area to area, but I, for one, would never join the GOP as it currently stands. That would be like voting for Romney or McCain, for me. I am a Libertarian.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

The biggest gains are not

The biggest gains are not state-wide races but local races-- Mayor, Sheriff, Town Councilman, State Legislature, etc...

Has the LP succeeded in any local races? Take over the GOP and you get instant access to leading millions of neocon, dumba$$ sheeple. Think about it!

I belong

To no party..most of the founding fathers abhorred them, and joined for the usual political expediency against their own better judgement. I'm am however a proponent of open elections, just as I'm a fan of open source software....I will however speak to members of any "3rd party" and share with them how I managed to help get Larry King to moderate the "open" presidential debate my organization hosted on October 23rd, and how I managed to help get Al Jazeera, RT, Ora.tv, Free Speech TV and CSPAN to broadcast it - as well as share my 6 point plan to make the debates we produce in 2016 a real game changer. And sorry, the GOP is a toxic brand in Cali, I don't see how that's a plan for success out there...

I'm not from Cali but others

I'm not from Cali but others here have shared interesting info. I heard that Ron Paulers are gaining a majority on the GOP's central committee in 2008 and 2010. After the dust settles in 2012, we may taken over the central committee. Remember, if you control the GOP then you indirectly control the primary victor. This is very relevant to republican dominated districts in CA. Therefore, elections can be won w/o spending millions of dollars! That includes elections for Town Council, Mayor, Sheriff (get an Oath Keeper!), State legislature, Congressman,...you get the idea?

If I learned anything from Ron Paul, it was work w/in the party to make any tangible gains. Ron Paul tried 3rd party and he told us to learn from his mistakes.

3rd party is great for a last resort in order to spread the message. It does not work for actually getting people into public office. Keep in mind it's labor intensive and VERY costly if you really want to win.

Sure you can take it over..

But you'll be taking over a party with a name that's literally repulsive to a majority of the population. And the corrupt people will still be there, just as they'll be in any party.

Do as you feel appropriate.

Do as you feel appropriate. I just wanted to share Ron Paul's big message from 2008. And I know he had the same message in 2012. We've made more gains in the GOP in 2008 and 2012 than the LP ever did in its entire existence.

But if it offends you so much to be in the GOP and to make gains, then do what you think is best. The free markets will decide what party is sustainable.

I just hate to see devoted, diligent efforts come up fruitless.

Bump!

Sounds like a great event and time, if I was closer I would come. But, I encourage those that are near by to attend! It's always great to meetup with people who have the same goals and motivations for the cause of liberty.
