youre missing the point

Elect congressmen and senators, take back the president's unconstitutional powers, then it doesnt matter who is more or less likely to abuse.

support whoever you believe in

I am more interested in getting more libertarian into congress in 2014. I think if we all focused on that 2016 would be a breeze.

Would he be my first choice?

Would he be my first choice? No.
Would I vote for him as opposed to Hilary Clinton or w/e? Yeah.

ask me in a couple of years.

He may be an apple rolling down hill from the tree...or very careful of his approach.

So far...not too impressed.

Are you kidding me

To have Dr. Paul visiting his son in the oval office any time he wanted would be awesome. The closer we can get Dr. Paul to the presidents ear the better. I would put Dr. Paul's gardener in the white house if I thought Dr. Paul could influence the persons decisions.

I will say this as tactfully as possible.

If Rand Paul is doing what he is doing now after having grown up in the Paul Household, Ron Paul will not have anymore influence on him than he does now or has had previously. Rand is Rand.

I appreciate the tact

What person, other than Rand, has a better chance of being elected in 2016 and would be better than Rand? I would not suggest mentioning a third party candidate. I want to vote for someone with Dr. Paul's ideas.

Judge Nap

But does Nap or Rand

But does Nap or Rand have a better chance of getting the nomination working within or against, but through the Republican party? I feel Rand would have the better chance. Though I agree Nap would follow Dr. Paul's ideas more closely.

Well we should have went with Romney then.

How about Lindsey? They'd be more palatable than Rand, no?

If you want your Liberty back and I'm not sure that's too important to people like yourself, you'd think going with someone that held Dr.Paul's message closer would be the right pick.

I have as much desire to have my liberty back as anyone.

I also believe that eventualy means that that person has to win. Who is better that has a shot? Explain how Judge Nap or someone else has a better chance than Rand and I am with you. I am crushed that we don't have Dr. Paul in the White House. You are right in that the closest to Dr. Paul's Message is the right pick. I would vote for Dr. Paul again if he ran. Please give me someone else closer who has a shot. I voted Ron Paul in my Virginia primary in 2008 and 2012 and abstained in each general election.

So we just need to pull back a little on principles so we can

win one? Why do that when we're winning battles on the local and state? You can spout off all you like but all I hear are "settle" "play along" "lesser of evils" and "yadayada". nothing you've said or could say would ever impress me.

I see people like yourself as weak, willing to sell out, boils on Liberty's ass.

Not sure if people like me want our liberty back?

Weak? Willing to sell out? Boil on Liberty's ass. All for suggesting we get behind Rand Paul. I havn't attacked you yet, but you must be out of your mind. I don't want to settle. I want Ron Paul. I will vote for him again in 2016 if he runs. I did not mention the local or state races because that wasn't the question. At this point, I would support Rand for president. I don't feel we are going to get any liberty back if we don't get what we can, when we can. I highly doubt we are going to get all of our liberty back in one chunk, maybe you do. I feel it would be a huge step in the right direction if Rand Paul were to be president in 2016. I'm sorry you disagree. I don't disagree that Judge Nap would be better, but you didn't try and explain how he has a better shot. I imagine a pompous ass like yourself won't even read this, since I haven't said or could say anything that would impress you.

Your Friend in Liberty

Ron Paul's gardener 2016!

I'm sold!

Perhaps there would be more

Perhaps there would be more "yes" votes if the question were phrased, "At this point, would you support Rand in 2016 for President if he were the only liberty candidate running?" There seem to still be a lot of people who think that someone like Amash or the Judge will run for the GOP nomination.

But that's actually my fault

But that's actually my fault since I originally created this poll over at Ron Paul forums.

I think this poll is

I think this poll is malfunctioning. It went from 50-50 to 56-44 in about 20 minutes. Somebody is voting multiple times.

The poll did not turn over my

The poll did not turn over my reply number in two replies at all.

Noooo...

Really????

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

One of the top priorities of our enemies...

... is to discredit and undermine anyone who might have a chance to crystallize the growing discontent into an alternative to the Republicrat duopoly. Regardless of all of the sneering and criticism, Rand remains BY FAR the most libertarian of any realistically viable presidential candidate in 2016. The fact that he has worked with the mainstream Republicans and has made what many DPers would consider compromises only makes him a BIGGER threat to the establishment.

Frankly, the whole idea of this straw poll is a crock.

because they always leave out too much information. Would I vote for him if he happened to win the Republican Party nomination? Hell yes. But he won't because he can't roar like a lion and inspire people with his mouth.

His dad inspired people because of his life long example of integrity, knowledge and grit. That is what drew the hundreds of thousands to his cause. We still need to combine a "Ron Paul" (experience, knowledge, example etc.) with an amazing speaker. Got any suggestions?

This guy has been making waves :-)

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Nepotism

Is no friend of liberty.

Rand Paul and the--possible-- future of liberty

It would indeed be wonderful to have a "ready made" candidate for President in 2016 with a history of fighting for liberty, private property, and self-responsibility in the cesspool that is DC.

It would be even better if such a candidate already had a high degree of name recognition, an acknowledged ability to work with people on "both sides of the isle" go get pro-freedom legislation passed,or failing that, to block the more noxious and poisonous legislation spewing out of the sewers of Congress!

It would be absolutely marvelous if such a person had demonstrated a willingness, even an eagerness to move "freedomward" on a host of issues over his six years in the Senate.

Unfortunately, it just doesn't look like Rand Paul is that individual. He is simply too prone to surrender. I didn't even say compromise, because for the life of me, I don't see the other side giving up anything in exchange for Rand Paul's support.

He hadn't even roared like a lion after being insulted by the loathsome goons of the TSA! Certainly, after the way that he was abused, I would think that he would have been in the Senate the very next day, demanding the complete defunding of that pack of disreputables along with the summary abolition of their agency!

Even THAT disgraceful humiliation didn't rouse him to action!

He is better than e.g. Lindsey Graham, Mario Rubio, or John McCain on the TSA and "Homeland" Security (who isn't?), but we were not treated to the "wrath of God" that would echo from coast to coast in his demanding that the gang of perverted and vile miscreants of this all-too-TERRORIST agency receive their just deserts!

Rand Paul can still change, and become a decent libertarian or Constitutionalist, but it is definitely time for people in Kentucky (and perhaps their supporters in other States) to start looking elsewhere among their own to challenge Rand Paul in the Primaries (and maybe even third-party in a general election) if he's going to succumb to the DC disease-talk like a libetarian and govern like a Democrat.

If he continues the way he has been going, we need and deserve something, and somebody, better.

Rand isn't a down the line

Rand isn't a down the line libertarian, but he's a libertarian conservative.

http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Rand_Paul.htm

I'm still uncomfortable with him after he endorsed Robamney

The only thing that made me think he was at least okay back then was that he was Ron's son, but after that endorsement I honestly don't see any clear reason to trust him, and don't.

He'll have to prove himself and then some if he ever wants to get my vote.

I'm still waiting on Ron to show us whether or not he was serious when he said he was resting for 2016, so I'm not expecting Rand to be in the field in four years time yet anyways.

Ron Paul 2016

The "yes" votes have

The "yes" votes have overtaken the "no" votes!

Hey Shill

That poll cannot be verified and may possibly be skewed:

only if Rand Paul agrees to endorse Mitt Romney while Rand Paul is still in the race
