Poll: If you had to choose, who would you vote for in 2016 in a race between Republican Rand Paul and Democrat Dennis Kucinich?

http://strawpoll.me/5644

I'm sorry if some of you are getting tired of polls, and I apologize if posting another poll irrates you. That isn't my intention. My intention in posting this particular poll is just to try to understand why so many people here won't support Rand Paul. Is it because there are just a lot of hardcore libertarians here who don't believe that Rand Paul is libertarian enough? Is there there really just a lot of left wing liberals here who only supported Ron because he wanted to end the wars and legalize drugs? I've seen a lot of praise and a lot of support for Dennis Kucinich here, and many people have even said that they would support him for President or would want him to be Ron's VP pick. This is despite the fact that Kucinich has anti liberty views on about 80-90% of the issues. Rand Paul has received A TON of hatred from the people on this forum, even though he takes pro liberty positions on 98% of the issues. So I would just like to know where people are coming from and who they would support in a matchup between Rand Paul and Dennis Kucinich in 2016. I would GREATLY appreciate your participation in this poll! Thanks!!

How many of these stupid polls are you going to do Mr Luntz? This is what the 3rd one in a matter of day trying to get Rand to come out on top? Is this what we are going to have to put up with day after day you forever trying to manipulate people with your bullshit polls? Are you now the LL spambitch for polls on the DP?

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

This is the last poll I'll

This is the last poll I'll post here for a while. I promise. :)

No offense...

...but this is a no-brainer. Rand Paul 2016. Dennis Kucinich is a socialist. He believes in government healthcare and education and all the rest. This is living proof that there are many liberals in the Ron Paul movement who would actually have the nerve to say they would support Dennis over Rand...

i do think you've hit on something

ron paul speaks to ALL parties. kucinch is a huge ron paul supporter and collaborator. there's been talk before of them running together. they respect each other. they both exude honesty and integrity.
ron has pointed out that the revolution will be with the young, that's why the college tours. johnson and kucinch too are loved by the college crowds. i'm sure they'd love the judge too.

rand on the other hand does not inspire a revolution. the youth sees that. he is moving closer and closer to a politics as usual GOP pawn.

Is that a serious question?

Rand, obviously. Kucinich is a socialist.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

I Would Choose...

...neither one.

So you would write-in Ron Paul again?

...how about Thomas Jefferson or Ludwig von Mises? They would be good write-in candidates, no?

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Who Said That?

A false set-up choice, just like those who claimed that there were only two choices this recent election.

I was making a rhetorical point...

...mocking those among us who let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

I Know What You Were Doing,,,

The point of this whole thread is what I was primarily referencing.

You may not like it and it is dead-certain that others do not, but there are men amongst us (scant few, it seems) who stand firm on certain principles and do not waver.

You tired old dogma of 'the perfect being the enemy of the good', is an excellent exemplar as it relates to the principles I speak of. Lil' Rand simply doesn't measure up and Ol' Dennis isn't even on the same planet.

False choice between hot steaming shit and still-moist yet slightly cool shit.

"scant few, it seems"

Ah, well then, you don't have to worry about having any actual impact on the course of events, do you?

False choice between hot steaming shit and still-moist yet slightly cool shit

Dishonest or stupid to suggest that there's only an insignificant difference between Rand and Kucinich.

You tired old dogma of 'the perfect being the enemy of the good'

...says the self-ascribed dogmatist? Anyway, old =/= false. My position is supported by a couple millenia of political reality. Have you caught any snipe yet? Keep looking...

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Yawn...

An apologist for ill acts. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dennis Kuccinich, good on

Dennis Kuccinich, good on foreign policy, bad on social issues.

The Daily Paul

has become a mixed bag of Libertarians, "Ron Paul Republicans", "Left Libertarians", and a few Anarchists.

The "Left Libertarians" seem to be growing in numbers here, the Occupy types.
They agree with the principals of libertarianism, but see corporations as the oppressor rather than the government.
In many cases they believe the government can be used to limit corporate "power".
These are the Dennis Kucinich voters.

you forgot

neocon lites

Kucinich hands down.

At least we know where he stands. He is a bit confused on some things though. He is far better than Rand on foreign policy. I can not stand the killing. Sanctions kill many innocent people. Soldiers and governments are not really even effected by sanctions. Rand just keeps on disappointing. I trust him as much as the rest of Congress which means I don't.

Rand is far better on foreign

Rand is far better on foreign policy issues than Kucinich since Rand is staunchly opposed to foreign aid and opposed to the United Nations, and Kucinich is a staunch supporter of foreign aid and the United Nations. Kucinich is basically a far left internationalist.

Basically Kucinich's view is

Basically Kucinich's view is that the state should be massive but benevolent

My view...

...is that bears should be 10x larger but vegetarians.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

A bit confused?

That is the understatement of the day. He is a cradle to grave socialist and there is no way around that.

please stop

Being so fixated on winning the presidential race and focus on using congress to put all presidents in their proper constitutional place.

Could we also use the POTUS

Could we also use the POTUS to put congress in place?

Wow these results are

Wow these results are absolutely insane. I guess birds of a feather flock together, this site is where the crazies go, RPF is where intelligent people go.

Maybe we should try Bernie Sanders in this poll instead, a self-described socialist. He has identical views to Kucinich.

I completely agree. This

I completely agree. This poll just shows how far gone the people here are. There's no point in Rand even trying to win them over.

I love Dennis

but god help us if he got power. I suppose there's more chance him appointing Ron to his cabinet than Rand would so he's got my hypothetical vote in this one.

if you feel that way then how

if you feel that way then how can you "love him"

i love my wife

but don't want her to be president.

I think Dennis is better on Liberties than Rand is

but he's a democrat and he's wrong on social programs. I do like him better than Rand though.

Maybe try Rand or Lucifer.. hopefully you'll get what you're looking for.

Lucifer! LOL

i disagree with dennis on various issues
but at least i feel he is trustworthy, besides he has been a good friend and supporter of ron paul.

LOL.. Yeah I'm the same way..

I would never vote for him as a candidate. I do like him however.
