Why I am NOT leaving this forum or the campaignSubmitted by CarrotTop on Wed, 01/16/2008 - 18:55
The $5 million 3rd quarter and the two huge money bombs of the 4th quarter were the honeymoon. It was fun, exciting, and our emotions were running high. After the first few elections comes the reality, the hard work, the day in and day out fidelity, and purposefulness, with our eyes fixed on the prize: our country restored, our constitution honored, and our freedom regained.
It took a long time for we Americans to get into this pickle, and it will take time and years of faithful work to get ourselves out of it. Let us each mind our own business, like Dr Paul says to do, and keep our own hands, feet, and mouths to the great task. Thin skin and week wills will not make a successful marriage nor will it make a success out of this desperate fight that we are all engaged in.
Never be discouraged: freedom will win in the end. Remember, it took William Wilburforce 20 years to end slavery in England. Gandhi's first followers were a much smaller percentage of the population of India than we have going for us here, and we have literacy to boot. And how many decades did it take him to win? Rosa Park's accidental movement succeeded because they kept at it through thick and thin.
Remember that guy, Yeltsin? He was one man in a house who faced down the Soviet establishment, the army, and the nukes. In contrast, we are a swarming army.
It is good to keep in mind that we don't deserve this chance, we don't deserve Dr Paul's help. We have not been vigilant, and we have been lazy about our own character development, and much else. We have been a pack of fools, honestly, and fools don't deserve to be free, nor are they capable of freedom. We have a lot to learn and a lot of growing up to do, many of us. Let us, with thankful hearts, get to the task that is set before us.
