EBT

really GRATES my nerves.

They should stop deceiving by calling it FOOD stamps. It's really just misappropriated hand-outs.

When I was growing up FOOD stamps had to be used for FOOD. You could go to the grocery store and buy certain LIMITED items, like milk, cheese, eggs etc. You couldn't buy the plastic toy set your little kid begged you for with those tear out coupons. (probably embarrassing to use - now the EBT cards are swiped like credit cards...)

Now I see WE ACCEPT EBT absolutely EVERYWHERE. Large stores, small stores, liquor stores, restaurants. The other day I saw a huge EBT sign at a GAS STATION. What the hell are people doing using "food stamps" at gas stations?!? Please don't tell me they can get gas if they wish. I'll go ballistic today.

I was in line at an El Pollo Loco (fairly nice restaurant, more upscale than say McDonalds), and the well dressed woman in front of me after asking about the menu pulled out EBT and seemed surprised when the guy said they didn't take it. I guess not yet. Unbelievable.

Wow

So these companies earn fees just for being a middle man and processing the cards. Nice.

Thanks for the info

1/2 the people I know are now getting EBT cards

If thats not bad enough, because the FED is debasing our currency and the price of FOOD AND ENERGY are increasing almost daily...most of them say they run out of money on their card a week or 10 days before it gets reloaded again.

Right or wrong, I sometimes think its a good thing that people are stealing money back from the State. I'd feel bad if I thought my grandchildren or the unborn would actually have to pay it back, but there is no way this monotary system holds up for much longer. I thought it would have gone bust by now so I'm back to saying it can't last another 10 years but it could come tomorrow. Only the criminals who are directing the wealth transfer know the timing.

Either way, since it has got to crash before it affects the next generation too badly...maybe everyone should do like the criminals in DC and just start pillaging the public purse too? Seems like it would bring an end to the whole disgusting system sooner would it not?

And just whose money would we be taking exactly

if we did sign up for welfare or food stamps?

That answer may give you your answer.

My point tamckissick is that the State is not going to

stop spending. I made the comment mostly in jest but my rational is that until china, japan, and others stop loaning our government money the excessive "printing" by the FED won't matter too much because the FRN's won't get into circulation. Until all those trillions get dumped into our countries economy the hyperinflation can be held off or hidden. If people investing in the "full faith and credit of the US" see that we are fast becoming a full fledged welfare state by an ever increasing number of Americans dependent on the federal government...they will dump the dollar and the Sh1t will hit the fan. Only then can restructuring begin. I don't want to live like this for 20 more years...so I'd like to help it along...you know?

I may be out to lunch with this line of thinking but as I have to say a lot on here...I sometimes type what I'm thinking before I think my thoughts through :)

I understand the 'hold off' aspect on money printing.

I'm not so sure it's really in play that much. If you were a Chinese leader, wouldn't you KNOW what the US food stamp program was doing? Thought so.

I think our lenders (not the FR) have lost faith a long time ago. It's only the petro dollar and the fact that they are trying to underhandedly swap their treasuries for gold before it does crash that holds the crash off.

I personally think that when the SHTF, our national debt will be quickly forgotten. That and every dime of the derivatives game, much of the muni debt, the discount window, foreign country loans and many others. I think that 'possibly' the only paper asset to survive may just be direct corporate stock ownership. ...and I even have my doubts about that one.

Keep on saying that lot - Todd
