I love me some Stefan!

Take the time to listen to his podcasts and it will change your life.

The issue is differentiation

Finding balance between individuation and communion. It is not an either/or scenario. A healthy society has realistic expectations for conformity but also allows for behaving outside the box. Society IS accommodation and that is good.

A healthy society

would protect property rights and non violence to the utmost. That would determine the level of conformity. It's hard though when we have such a sick society which threw away the rule of law a long time ago. Paint your house pink? Sorry that's not allowed under town code, conform to one of the approved please.

"Endless money forms the sinews of war." - Cicero, www.freedomshift.blogspot.com

In a healthy society

the norms would be such that the pink person would be too ashamed to do something so far outside the norm. No laws would be required.
