POLL: If you had to choose, who would you vote for in 2016 in a race between Republican Rand Paul and Libertarian Jesse Ventura?

Based on the user "A Real Conservative" 's Rand vs. Kucinich poll.

If Jesse Ventura were the Libertarian Party nominee and Rand Paul were the Republican Party nominee, who would you vote for in the 2016 presidential election?

edit: sheeeit.

Rand Paul.

But who would his VP be? Very few good options.

why vote at all?

They both suck, especially Ventura

But I would unenthusiastically vote for Rand.

Jesse said he doesn't want to be affiliated with any party including the Libertarian Party.

Defeat the panda-industrial complex

I am dusk icon. anagram me.

Rand WHO?

Ventura does not bend or break and is actually interested in the truth.

He's also interested in

He's also interested in socialism.

and militarism

We need a thread collecting Jesse's past comments on how he would use state power to right social wrongs.

In addition to those that said Jesse wouldn't take the Libertarian party's nomination (which, I'm not sure he wouldn't, he said he needs ballot access in all 50 states, and I believe some states require a minor amount of votes in a prior election... anyway...)... they wouldn't pick him, that's such a pipe dream. The guy is not a libertarian. He's not outright anything I can tell, but Rand can be called Libertarian before him. Jesse has some RINO, some tea party, some 99% (forgot that left wing movement already) in him.

Jesse would quickly realize that his presence will split the vote and give the neocon dem Billary the win. I doubt Jesse would run against Rand.

3rd parties can't win nationally; though Jesse disproved that state-wide in Minnesota.

seeing as how Ventura isn't a Libertarian and how far Rand appears to have fallen from the tree, I think I'll take Nystrom's advice and just focus on positive, local change around me.

he ought to run with Rosanne Barr

except they would have to fight over who would be the top spot and I expect that wouldn't go well. ;-)

the polls are meaningless but entertaining. I assume noone is taking them seriously.

These FAKE polls are put out by Rand haters or the establishment

This is not a poll at all. It is completely rigged.

Both I and A Real

Both I and A Real Conservative (who posted 2 other polls) strongly support Rand Paul.

These are not rigged, look at the comments, there are clearly people who do not support Rand Paul. They were done to collect consensus on the Daily Paul on a Rand Paul 2016 presidential run.

A Real Conservative also posted his poll on RPF and people there overwhelmingly backed Rand.

BS !

You CANNOT put up a poll like that and get any type of consensus on where the members here actually stand! You may very well support Rand but your stupid polls are FLAWED and i'll bet my dollar to your donut on it!
These Rand hating purist pass these polls around! Not only that but i know for a FACT that people on Neocon sites come here on a DAILY basis and read this site because i'm a member on several of those sites. So does the GJ crowd. You were being counterproductive by putting these stupid polls up.
Sure there are people here that dont like Rand, just as there are people on the RP forum who dont like Rand. I'm a member on the RP forums as well.
If you are trying to tell us that people here would support JV two to one over Rand you are FOS because THAT IS what your stupid poll reads. READ THE COMMENTS and the OT's around here for reference! Your numbers dont add up. Ive also read what you and Real Conservative wrote on the RP forums about the DP people and your whole purpose of posting these stupid polls is to run the DP and its members down and paint a picture that just isnt true.
Anybody that believes these polls are in any way accurate dont have the brains God gave a minnow...simple as that. Fact is, if you believe that crap your probably worse off than the voting sheep you claim your trying to reach out to. How many Pro Jesse Ventura threads get started around here? HARDLY NONE ! Your polls are garbage and i know for a fact if this website had a polling option such as the RP forums where only registered members could vote, the outcome would be very different...the common sense is sure lacking if you believe what your polls say . Your thread here also has a -14 rating...what do you make of that outcome? Anybody with a little common sense knows these polls are manipulated and therefore are irrelevant!
Two to One over Rand? Puleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaase, your not very bright are you?

Rand. I like Ventura on many

Rand. I like Ventura on many accounts and I love watching his interviews where he tells people like Piers how it really is. But I cringe at a couple of his more liberal positions. He is pretty good on many things but I think Rand will do well in an election.

ANOTHER poll???

ANOTHER poll???

Blessings )o(

Anyone who thinks that Jesse

Anyone who thinks that Jesse is any kind of a supporter of liberty should take a look at this.

If Jesse were in the debates

If Jesse were in the debates and polling at a significant number, I'd vote for him. Otherwise, I'd vote for Rand. Although... I'd have to think about it. Jesse says some crazy outlandish things. I just think it'd be cool to have a 3rd party candidate win. Still, Jesse is so unpolished that it's almost embarrassing.

I think highly of

I think highly of Jesse...he's a great American in my book.

As POTUS, I would be a little worried about all of the hard shots he took upside the head in the WWE. Alot of those guys, along with NFL players, are snapping down the line.

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

Jesse & 2016

I'm from Minnesota and I remember when Jesse was governor. He wasn't bad at all (turned a deficit into a surplus and then paid the people back), but he was definitely controversial (much LESS then he is now) and I don't think there was a second term possible due to how the media bashed him.

If you look at some of the things he's saying now and some of the stuff he has said on his show, there's no way in hell that anyone that hasn't "woken" up could take him seriously and vote for him for POTUS.

I'm not saying I don't like him or that just because a candidate doesn't have a shot in hell you shouldn't vote for him, but this is like asking for failure. It's very clear he will not relate to the American people without coming across like too aggressive / crazy.

Again, not something I believe myself, but if you look at someone like Ron Paul, who is humble and full of knowledge, Jesse comes across completely the opposite: an extreme bad-ass biker version if you will. I definitely believe there is room for people like him for the movement, but definitely not the figure-head. He comes across as an Alex Jones wake-up the people type of character.

In the end, why are we trying to determine who our leader will be for 2016? I understand time is precious, but why are we the ones doing the searching? It's clear we've established a base and I'd say it's time for the leader to come to us. Let the actions of those who are in our minds determine who we will pick for our next figure-head. We shouldn't be struggling so hard, trying to divide what we have between petty arguments like this.

Moving forward - we all know there is a chance for liberty once again in 2016, but for now let's focus on the issues more then the politicians.

I think the aggression plays in his favor

Dr. Paul's intellectual approach went right over the heads of a lot of people. Ventura has an advantage due to his personality... nobody will be able to ignore him. He also has a track record of bringing non-voters to the polls because he is so different from any other politician.

Jesse Ventura for President. A Vince McMahon production.

These polls

Are simply divisive, whether by intent or not.
Also comparing the outcome of the polls with the downvotes, makes me feel like we're back pre-election day. All that is needed now, is a poll on Rand vs Gary Johnson.
Maybe time to move ahead..no?.

Rand vs. The Judge

That's the poll I'd really love to see.

I'm sick of hearing "rand" and pretty much any other potential presidential candidate. its at least 2 years to early to be settling down on a name.

All of the lets get behind "Rand" talk just makes me want to avoid him even more.

Anyway, The ONLY name that has been thrown into the ring at this point that I could even consider is Judge AndyNap.

He's the only person in the "running" who has ever made me feel inspired like I was inspired when I listened to Dr Paul. He's not Ron Paul, but when he speaks, he does it out of conviction, and you can feel it. When Rand speaks. ... hot air. He's a politician.

Honestly getting email from Rand during the campaign was a turn off.
