If Jesse Ventura were the Libertarian Party nominee and Rand Paul were the Republican Party nominee, who would you vote for in the 2016 presidential election?
They both suck, especially Ventura

seeing as how Ventura isn't a Libertarian and how far Rand appears to have fallen from the tree, I think I'll take Nystrom's advice and just focus on positive, local change around me.

Both I and A Real Conservative (who posted 2 other polls) strongly support Rand Paul.
These are not rigged, look at the comments, there are clearly people who do not support Rand Paul. They were done to collect consensus on the Daily Paul on a Rand Paul 2016 presidential run.
A Real Conservative also posted his poll on RPF and people there overwhelmingly backed Rand.

Rand. I like Ventura on many accounts and I love watching his interviews where he tells people like Piers how it really is. But I cringe at a couple of his more liberal positions. He is pretty good on many things but I think Rand will do well in an election.

If Jesse were in the debates
If Jesse were in the debates and polling at a significant number, I'd vote for him. Otherwise, I'd vote for Rand. Although... I'd have to think about it. Jesse says some crazy outlandish things. I just think it'd be cool to have a 3rd party candidate win. Still, Jesse is so unpolished that it's almost embarrassing.

I'm from Minnesota and I remember when Jesse was governor. He wasn't bad at all (turned a deficit into a surplus and then paid the people back), but he was definitely controversial (much LESS then he is now) and I don't think there was a second term possible due to how the media bashed him.
If you look at some of the things he's saying now and some of the stuff he has said on his show, there's no way in hell that anyone that hasn't "woken" up could take him seriously and vote for him for POTUS.
I'm not saying I don't like him or that just because a candidate doesn't have a shot in hell you shouldn't vote for him, but this is like asking for failure. It's very clear he will not relate to the American people without coming across like too aggressive / crazy.
Again, not something I believe myself, but if you look at someone like Ron Paul, who is humble and full of knowledge, Jesse comes across completely the opposite: an extreme bad-ass biker version if you will. I definitely believe there is room for people like him for the movement, but definitely not the figure-head. He comes across as an Alex Jones wake-up the people type of character.
In the end, why are we trying to determine who our leader will be for 2016? I understand time is precious, but why are we the ones doing the searching? It's clear we've established a base and I'd say it's time for the leader to come to us. Let the actions of those who are in our minds determine who we will pick for our next figure-head. We shouldn't be struggling so hard, trying to divide what we have between petty arguments like this.
Moving forward - we all know there is a chance for liberty once again in 2016, but for now let's focus on the issues more then the politicians.

I'm sick of hearing "rand" and pretty much any other potential presidential candidate. its at least 2 years to early to be settling down on a name.
All of the lets get behind "Rand" talk just makes me want to avoid him even more.
Anyway, The ONLY name that has been thrown into the ring at this point that I could even consider is Judge AndyNap.
He's the only person in the "running" who has ever made me feel inspired like I was inspired when I listened to Dr Paul. He's not Ron Paul, but when he speaks, he does it out of conviction, and you can feel it. When Rand speaks. ... hot air. He's a politician.
Honestly getting email from Rand during the campaign was a turn off.
Integrity for president
Ventura has integrity whereas Rand is just a politician. Leave the politicians to argue among themselves in the houses. The president needs to be an individual beyond reproach who will not be pressured into abandoning their principles.
