POLL: If you had to choose, who would you vote for in 2016 in a race between Republican Rand Paul and Libertarian Jesse Ventura?

http://strawpoll.me/5655

Based on the user "A Real Conservative" 's Rand vs. Kucinich poll.

If Jesse Ventura were the Libertarian Party nominee and Rand Paul were the Republican Party nominee, who would you vote for in the 2016 presidential election?

Hogwash

Please provide evidence. While I disagree with many of Kucinich's positions, I don't remember him being a socialist. Perhaps you don't know what the word means?

And, Ventura is nowhere close to being a socialist. Yes, he believes in some form of universal health-care system. But, that has nothing to do with collective ownership.

You are FOX News confused.

Don't completely agree

I'd have to place honesty and integrety above campaign policy on issues. How many times in the last four decades has either party adhered to the party platform? The current administration! What if mittens had done an about face and supported RP's policy in total..would you have voted on the issues alone?

At least with an honest politician, that has a level of intergety, you know what you see is what you get, even if you don't agree with some of their views. And small increments towards change are the only way change will come..to force the establishment to give ground, and roll back some of these fascist policies. They aren't going anywhere, any time soon, and next time around it's more likely than not going to be Bush vs Clinton.

If you want to debate trust...

...I would argue Rand wins hands-down.

There's only one

Politician I would 'trust', seeing as you mention it, and that's Ron Paul.

Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesnt want to hear -RonPaul

I'd vote for whoever is

I'd vote for whoever is polling the highest, probably Rand.

Ventura 2012

The System

The political system either corrupts or marginalises individuals within, depending upon their willingness to toe the party line. Always been that way, always will.
People like Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura, Dennis Kucinich, aren't intimidated by the political sausage machine, and aren't dependent upon the lurks, perks and jobs for the boys.
That's why the 'party' system is the problem, and also why you won't change it at the top.
If your going to sit around and wait for the perfect candidate to come along, to save the day, then your effectively doing nothing to help yourself, or the cause of liberty, Thats why 'you' have to do it..every way you can.

Neither are libertarians

I couldn't vote for either of them.

Rand and Jesse are nice guys and fellow travelers of ours, but they don't make the cut as libertarians.

"The State is a gang of thieves writ large." - Murray Rothbard

Murray Rothbard supported Pat

Murray Rothbard supported Pat Buchanan for crying out loud. Ron Paul tries to bring all the third parties together. You are stuck inside your own head.

Ventura 2012

Murray Rothbard even

Murray Rothbard even supported George Bush.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THESE RESULTS...

...how could us on the DP possibly say we would support Ventura over Paul. Ventura believes in socialized everything(in other words, he is a socialist) and Rand Paul is the most fiscal conservative in the senate if not in the entire congress. It is either ignorance or certain people are infiltrating our movement.

I think it is a joke

Seriously. I think people are getting sick of all this 2016 Rand vs Fill in the blank stuff and voting for socialism. I also think some people are trying to make the point that Rand is not necessarily the answer or solution to the problems we are facing. I do not think anyone here truly condones socialism.

.

they had it started years ago, but made their move at gjtardfest.

many here lifted their rocks and came out.

Rand Paul 2016

as a republican you are everything i despise in the gop or outside of it! shove stick further up your azzzzz!

Ron Paul 2016

I would vote for Rand.

He's not perfect, but he's very much part of the Liberty Movement.

that's very

debatable as you'll see reading these threads.

Good Poll

Now this is one that I would actually vote for.

Ventura without a doubt!

You wouldn't see Jesse drop

You wouldn't see Jesse drop to his knees just to get along with the Republicrats.......

First, He'd Have to Take the Pledge

You can't be nominated unless you join, and you can't join unless you take the pledge: "I certify that I oppose the initiation of force to achieve political or social goals."

If someone will do that, then they can keep their values (from one extreme to the other) which is how freedom brings us together. Everything for us flows from the non-initiation of force.

Most importantly, all our members have taken the pledge, and they're the ones who nominate candidates, so, he'd have to convince us that he now understands and rejects his previous proposals that would violate the rights of others.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

It's hilarious that Ventura

It's hilarious that Ventura is a "libertarian" when he supports universal healthcare.

I might be in that camp, it is not anti-libertarian

I would not be opposed to a 'universal' system as long as there was a way to opt out of it. Makes much more sense that an insurance system. As Ron Paul said, before the insurance companies took over doctors did well and care was cheap - even bartered for. And, charity hospitals got money from donations to take care of the poor. It seems to me that community hospitals make the most sense - as far as a larger system a state-run might make the most sense. It would increase competition among states and prompt new ideas, etc...

I will not disagree that Obamacare is a nightmare. But, just like the last 30 years, insurance companies are making billions and no one is better off.

Well he did say he was

Well he did say he was considering running as a Libertarian in 2016 while campaigning for GJ, that's why I put him as the Libertarian nominee, because if he does run, he'll be easily nominated, being a former Governor.

Yeah, I wasn't criticizing

Yeah, I wasn't criticizing your poll. I was just saying that it's funny that the people here think that Jesse Ventura is some kind of hardcore libertarian.

a libertarian streak

but however you want to define him, he has more passion in his little finger than rand has in his entire being.

johnson too. you feel something when these men speak.
rand? meh

.

rand only speaks to constitutional conservatives thats why you dont like him.
