Controversy over Psy's "Anti-American" lyrics

Psy, the singer of the now most viewed youtube video is under fire for anti-american lyrics rapped at a show in 2004. The article explains that this controversy occurred right after the beheading of two korean missionaries that set the entire country in a frenzy.
Whats amazing to me is the level of ignorance displayed by people regarding this. His lyrics were against the torture by American soldiers, so I would classify it as more anti-torture then anything else. Apparently, outrage at a group of people is only legitimate if carried out by Americans. Does anyone remember the violence carried out against Muslims in this country after 9/11? Or the ridiculous anti French sentiment after France refused to join the coalition? (Freedom Fries. Dear god, Freedom Fries? Really?)
People have zero understanding of our foreign policy and how it affects people of other nations.I can only look at this and shake my head.
