State Dept. Considering Pre-Clearance of Employee Tweets and Blog Posts

State Department employees could soon be prevented from live Tweeting, as well as posting to blogs or even giving speeches unless they first submit their remarks to the agency for approval.

The restriction is being formulated in new rules by State Department managers, who were upset after Foreign Service officer Peter Van Buren published a tell-all book about the U.S. reconstruction effort in Iraq.

Under the new rules, the State Department would get 48 hours to review Twitter posts and five days to approve a blog entry, speech, or remarks prepared for a live event. The agency also would require 30 days to examine manuscripts before books go to print.

Well, that's what happens

Well, that's what happens when you work for the Govt. When Congressmen get sworn in, they have to sign non-disclosure agreements meaning there are things they are not allowed to tell you. Their job REQUIRES they lie or hide the truth. Its the same in the military. What makes anything different with the State Dept? When you sign onto work for the Federal Govt, you agree to let them own you. Voluntarily relinquishing your rights.

Oh, that's cool, then

Oh. I didn't know about their dropped "rights" things.

So, that's cool, they really are servants worth of the name, then.

You think Mrs. Clinton is going to have an admin. procedure set up to watch and validate (or not) how they get to spend their salaries, too ?

If I were her, I would totally go for it. You know, just in case some would have itches to donate to Ron Paul, or Liberty campaigns or whatnots...

Consistency !
