Christian Metal Band Theocracy - 30 Pieces of Silver

http://youtu.be/MVs2ulome_Y

What’s the bottom line?
Or what’s the price I’d take to leave it all behind?
To trade a cross of shame for glory of mankind
To sell a crown of life for pennies on the dime
And trade eternity for one moment in time

For if the key to life is right here in my hand
Why would I trade it for an hourglass of sand?
Or choose the riches of this mortal coil
Forego the incorruptible for praises of man

All the treasure in the world so blinding
30 pieces of silver shining
Tell me what’s the price you seek
To place the kiss of death upon His cheek?
Blood money and the serpent winding
30 pieces of silver shining
Treasure fades away
What a price to pay anyway

What’s the price you’ve named?
Well is it money, power, acceptance, or fame?
And will you sell out for a temporary gain
Or dare to stand up undeterred and unashamed
And let the glory fall to whomever it may?

When all the world is asking you to sell your soul
And to deny the cross for silver and for gold
The kiss of Judas or the bended knee?
Vainglory or humility?
The ultimate goal

All the treasure in the world so blinding
30 pieces of silver shining
Tell me what’s the price you seek
To place the kiss of death upon His cheek?
Blood money and the serpent winding
30 pieces of silver shining
Treasure fades away
Sold out for the price of slave

Treasure blinding
Silver shining
Redefining

I got into this totally rolling my eyes

I hate the contemporary church service movement, it's cafeteria christianity at its worst. And none of this, 'well at least people are coming'. The problem is that once culturally Christianity becomes about pop music and wearing jeans to shallow bible study groups for a minor subculture in middle America, and not a religion based on principles and steadfast faith in and partnership with God, then you lose the Christianity. There are those types that are all about 'god loves me' but then ostracize you the minute you mention going through hardship to serve God's purposes. These people are driving the Christian culture right now.

Anyway, I listened to this music and thought, 'gee, this is good music'.

I've realized that music is culture, and there's no need for culture to be inherently trashy. So people of all stripes, those who hold strong beliefs in SOMETHING, should in fact make music about it, whatever kind of music their passionate about.

Great perspective for the liberty movement, the alternative culture movement, and religion as well. Thanks for the post.

Thank you

We are all in this together.
The Liberty Movement is a big tent.

Some folks love the music but not quite the message of the song.
Others love the message and are slowly growing into the music.

Great vibes for everyone:))

Merry Christmas & Thank you for such a wisdom filled comment.
Made my day.

Upvoted into the 'top posts'

and why 'not too much music in one day'?

Ron Paul said a revolution needs 2 things - young people and great music like this awesome song and band!

9-11 was a panda job.

I have no idea

why some folks here down-voted your comment.
I up-voted right now.

Sad.

Also, have you heard of a

Also, have you heard of a group called "Woe of Tyrants"? They're more death metal, but they are a really talented Christian band. I believe they claim to not be a Christian band, but all their songs are based on Biblical stuff.

Just posted the song you talked about

Down-voting there started.

Woe of Tyrants -- never heard of this band.
I will have a look.
Thank you so much!

Awesome!

I just noticed the words "theocracy" and "metal" out of the corner of my eye, and immediately clicked. They're a great band that gets alot of play on my iPhone. It's amazing to find a band that really shreds AND has great lyrics. I always wonder what these guys political beliefs are.

Thank you

It is the best band in the world right now.
Nobody comes even close not even Metallica...

Since I discovered their music I listen to it at every free moment I have.
They changed my life -- they helped me to focus on God once again.
Look I read comments by Atheists and Agnostics who said this is the best music they ever heard.

Why this is the best music?
In my opinion it is because the makers were working in the Holy Spirit.

Have you heard the song

Have you heard the song "Laying the Demon to Rest"? It's off the album "Mirror of Souls".

I did

Looking forward to posting it here as well.
Don't want to post too much music all in one day.

Well might post it in a few secs.

LL, I gave you an upvote because,

for some reason, people seem to be downvoting you simply because you're you. Am I wrong about this? I haven't always agreed with you but it seems wrong to me to downvote someone's comment just because you may have disagreed with something they said in the past.

Miss your poetry. Wish you would post it more often.

Thank you

This is the one I just composed the other day:
