Goodbye Daily Paul.

I'm going to keep this. Short and sweet because it likely won't be read.

I'm done with the Daily Paul. I used to come to see the breaking articles and topics that we couldn't see in the mainstream media. Additionally, I enjoyed the wit of most members' comments. Not anymore.

1. I am no longer of the belief that top articles are decided by the people.

2. The endless bickering about Rand Paul is destructive to the Liberty movement.

3. The forum is now destructive to my hope for the liberty movement rather than improving it.

Frankly this forum has become a joke. Let me sum it up:

Rand sucks!
Rand is awesome!
Let us smoke pot!
We need to take over the Republican Party!
The Republican Party sucks, we need to go third. Party!
If you don't agree with me you're a NeoCon!
If you don't agree with me you're not a realist!

I think that basically covers it. We need to spend our time preaching about how liberty and the free market are supposed to work, this forum no longer fosters that discussion. Thank you for the enlightening thoughts throughout the election, but I'm better off going my own way now. Good luck to all of you, may we unite again someday under the banner of Liberty.

head, meet nail

Every two years I get more entrenched in politics. I am personally still stuck in the dichotomy of active participation or complete abandon.

I've been downvoted, upvoted, and I think someone called me an idiot, but I'd rather discuss these things and agree to disagree at times and in day to day life I go thru worse in 24 hours than the time I've been registered here (long lurker, short time poster.)

I really think you hit the nail on the head.

On a side note at first I didn't really care for the downvoting/upvoting thing and I rarely use the function, but Michael made a post somewhere about it and pretty much instantly it didn't bug me any more.

This is what happened to my boss recently, discussing politics (he's a republican, liked Ron Paul but ended up voting for Romney as Dr. Paul couldn't win-and Rubio and Romney's speech converted him. he did enjoy Dr. Paul's Sunday speech before the convention though. He told me he didn't really like Romney but the convention made him like him a little. I didn't really get into what happened with him there.)

Inspection from a city worker. Went great until he brought up how Obama is helping to destroy America and how regulatory agencies are making it so hard to run a business now they are choking growth and killing the American Dream. He said this to a city inspector.

Lets just say things didn't go well. Up until that point it went well.

Say something here people don't agree with and agree to disagree and maybe get downvoted. Do that in public to an Obama supporter who holds the keys to a permit to do business; big trouble. Might cost hundreds of thousands of dollars or be unable to open a business at all.

I had to remind my boss (he's 69) do NOT EVER discuss, sex, drugs, religion, or politics with any government employee. He's been in business for himself for about 45 years. And still needs a reminder. We have to literally keep him away from people from the city or county and state, as well as any other authoritarian parties who would enjoy to destroy his business.

He's a great guy but his own worst enemy at the same time. And for once (I had to feel him out for a few years) I have the most incredible boss ever. But his big mouth cost him a few hundred grand of lost profits. And reinforced his beliefs about govt agencies.

You'd get treated much better here.

See the forest for the trees. Look at the bigger picture.

Or like others have said take a break and come back a little later when you aren't so unhappy. You wouldn't have made the post if you were lurking. Lurk or detach for a while. People will forget you even made this post. We can't afford to lose any liberty lovers.

I'll bet you're still here...

...secretly watching from the sidelines.

It's very difficult to stay completely away from the Daily Paul.

And who would want to anyway?

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

are you resigning from the human race?

Because you will encounter these types of disagreements and bickering everywhere. Better learn to accept and deal with the human condition, rather than running away. I mean you could, for example, start posts that direct the discussion in a direction you would enjoy, rather than just giving up.

I tried...

I tried to get a meaningful discussion going about a week ago and got no response.

Now that the election season is over, and I busted my tail to help get a liberty candidate elected to a statewide seat, I was hoping to get more intellectual and philosophical support from the DP.

I read the DP for years but recently wanted to get involved in the conversation.

I don't think negatively of the DP, although the Rand bashing is lame. I would like a more meaningful conversation.

Maybe a discussion on how to get the public to know free markets will benefit them? RP said people need to know these ideas are in their best interest or else the majority will reject these ideas.

The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.

...I get disgusted with the DP and almost delete my account in a rage. Then my fiery brain cools a bit, I take a break, and come back after a few days...must be something worthwhile here yet.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

SADLY, its going to dwindle

And this site will come back full force in 2016. In the meantime, keep posting truther links to educate new people.

Goodbye Cruel World!

I'm leaving you today.
Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye.

Great Album!

Saw Roger Waters perform the wall in Austin about a year ago :D

So proud of my comment that ...

I had to make it its own post.

If you leave the DP

especially now when it needs you the most.

His name is Edward Snowden

What is Capitalism?

Yeah, this place is pretty pathetic, man.

You're seriously better off.

Another 'drama'

If you not like Daily Paul please leave quietly without the 'drama' goodbye post.
Just stop posting and reading.
Or if some posters get on your nerve just block them.

I don't comment or post so much anymore

but I will not go anywhere ... no need for the drama ... just take a break and lurk. I still find a gem here once in a while ... as for Rand ... he is in to win first and get the message out second ... with Ron it was reversed.

I'm sorry to hear that.

They have a way of tearing families apart. I am still cut off from my grandchildren. I honestly did not think I could survive it, but time and grace....
My very best to you.

May I suggest

that it is the cesspool of politics that you are fed up with, rather than the Daily Paul.

I have considered that I have better things with which to fill my mind with, than the disgust I have for the current political climate.

Going out and digging in the nice clean dirt of my garden was good medicine.

When you care about the future, it is very difficult to get weaned away. It is a pleasure just to be able to say "alright", or think "this guy/gal gets it", or "what a good idea". And, although, you may be discouraged now, these people will listen (read) your opinions, and will usually respond, which is more than most of my relatives will do.

You are right. I am a

You are right. I am a complete politigeek. But my family and friends are not. I get the blank stare when I bring up politics. But here...I get debates! Good ones for the most part.

Adios amigo

I've seen em come and I've seen em go.....

It is an Internet blog, you are taking it too seriously. This is not the liberty factory and war room. We drop in, read some articles, watch some You tubes, fire each other up, piss each other off, get a few things off our chest, get some ideas, tell jokes, etc...

Stop freaking out and enjoy this beautiful place. Life is too short to get bent.

But if you must go...Peace

cant have good articles everyday. be patient friend

everyone is different but i think we can all agree we are in it for liberty!

Except for the truthers.

Except for the truthers.

wait, people actually read

wait, people actually read the forums?

the forums are

the way of the future

way of the future way of the

way of the future

Why do people bother saying goodbye

I always wondered that

2 Chron 7:13-14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

I get discourage, go away for a while and come back with a new perspective. Guess I am a junky for real news.

I have that desire but know

I have that desire but know it's a waste of my time.

My desire that I would say I'm leaving, people would talk about how uniting is a key component of the liberty movement and intelligently ask me what do I find to be the problem... We have a discussion about my issues and everyone would come to a grand conclusion and it would at least unite some people to improving the situation. (I'm a big "how do we improve things, figure it out, and then take action" kind of guy) Then I think of the reality and just don't do it.

You asked; now you have more data to process this question. That is why I shared.

What is the problem? That is the problem.

Everyone here has a list of "problems". We've got tons of blame and hundreds of perspectives on problems. What we are short on is solutions. which is what I'm interested in and seeking to learn here.

So far, I find the solution is within the GOP, it's not an easy job, but it's better than destroying what we have to be given what we really don't want, global tyranny and perpetual war.

Exactly. I'm a big solutions

Exactly. I'm a big solutions person. But I'm still too young to really understand and know I'm not even on the same level as Rand. (and will never be unless I joined the daily political game) So there is no way I could say that he has a strategy that will improve things for the better or not blah blah blah. I think I'm still on the level of "Why do some politicians join the political arena then somehow get sucked up right into the politics of things?" and am still looking at human psychology of it all. I'm very objective and need to find those objective personalities.

So I listen and try to form my own opinion. Then do what I can to take action to change things for the better.
