Eulogy for Occupy, fascinating read

Having got in close with the OWS/Occupy thing early this perfectly confirms what I saw and heard. Really covers the bases.

The emphasis on coming together for form a more caring and compassionate way of living isn't going away. This has become a pretty generalised desire. It pops up here from time to time and there have been several "liberty community" experiments...

...most of which crash and burn inside of 12 months for not entirely different reasons.

What IS the police protocol for protesters packing heat?

What IS the police protocol for protesters packing heat? This article offers a really thought provoking scenario:

"What if every OWS had exercised their second amendment rights as well as their first?"

I don't recall a situation where marchers or demonstrators are ever considered carrying concealed or even unconcealed, such as at a gun rights rally. Do people go armed to those rallies?

What if the tea party waves shot guns along with yellow flags?

One thing's for sure: the author is right in stating very few supporters of the first amendment stepped up to defend OWS' rights.

Since left-wing protesters will be the ones getting beaten and gassed and hauled off to detention centers far more than libertarian or right-wing protesters, I wonder how many of us will be condemning "World War Z" in the streets over the coming months and years?

You don't recall?

I could find more of these if you want. Some right on this site.

"May 2, 1967: About 30 armed Black Panther members entered the California legislature to protest consideration of outlawing the right of private citizens to bear arms. There was no violence, but the spectacle is well remembered and brought the group into public light."

If OWS ever did this they would be shot down in the streets.
