Jim DeMint: "The Republicans are going to end up raising taxes"

Grace Wyler | Business Insider

Outgoing Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said Thursday that he believes Republicans will cave to the White House's demand that Congress raise federal income tax rates on the top 2 percent of earners.

"The President campaigned on raising taxes and getting rid of the Bush-era tax cuts — he’s going to get his wish," DeMint said in an interview with CBS This Morning. "I believe we’re going to be raising taxes not just on the top earners. Everyone’s going pay more taxes next year in this country, and I think that’s what the President wants."

DeMint, a conservative stalwart and Tea Party favorite, has become one of the sharpest critics of the GOP leadership since announcing last week that he will leave the Senate to take the top spot at the Heritage Foundation.

What does every theif want?

More theft.

Even if they have called it by the name of tax. It is immoral extorted theft and it forces the free humans into a position of cowardly immoral submission.

Enlightened disengagement is still my final answer. No to theft.

Result of raising taxes.

Everyone knows that when you raise taxes, you actually LOWER government revenue, and weaken the economy.

And when you lower taxes you RAISE gov't revenue, and strengthen the economy.

The pres wants to do this to control and enslave the people, to destroy the economy. And the Sheeple will let him.

We must NULLIFY this lawless federal gov't.

Leaving the Senate to head Heritage

is the best thing Jim Demint could have ever done for Conservatism. This war won't be won in Congress, but, in people's mailboxes and on the Internet.

DeMint feels safe in saying this, now. He's leaving the Senate.

Silence is all that is heard from most of the others.

Seemed to me

We all knew that when they purged Amash

If this is the inevitable, do

If this is the inevitable, do what Rand said. If Republicans are truly conservative, he said lets vote present but not vote. Let the Democrats have complete ownership of the higher taxes, that way when the economy fails, there's no one to blame but the liberals.

It would be an awesome move, but there's too many neocons in the GOP to actually do that.

The democraps don't ever own anything

No group does.. When have you ever seen a party accept ownership of a fuck up? You really think this is good strategy? lol

You go on to say that there are too many neocons to actually do it but it's the neocons that came up with the idea. What do you think boner is busy doing by kicking out conservatives standing for less taxes.. Boner is busy making a deal to raise taxes with Obama.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

my thoughts exactly

Boner has to give the appearance that hes a conservative. But all of his actions prove otherwise.
