Psychiatry goes insane: Every human emotion now classified as a mental disorder in new psychiatric manual DSM-5

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews.com

(NaturalNews) The industry of modern psychiatry has officially gone insane. Virtually every emotion experienced by a human being -- sadness, grief, anxiety, frustration, impatience, excitement -- is now being classified as a "mental disorder" demanding chemical treatment (with prescription medications, of course).

The new, upcoming DSM-5 "psychiatry bible," expected to be released in a few months, has transformed itself from a medical reference manual to a testament to the insanity of the industry itself.

"Mental disorders" named in the DSM-5 include "General Anxiety Disorder" or GAD for short. GAD can be diagnosed in a person who feels a little anxious doing something like, say, talking to a psychiatrist. Thus, the mere act of a psychiatrist engaging in the possibility of making a diagnoses causes the "symptoms" of that diagnoses to magically appear.

Boycott psychiatry

Why on earth would anyone go to one of these quacks??

They're worse than Scientologists. The Scientologists extract confessions from you and keep them on record, and use them to their advantage when need be...but at least they don't drug you and screw your whole brain up.

WORSE than Scientology.

Spiritual guidance and nutrition can cure most ills, but that truth is buried.

Did they add the old Soviet standby to DSM V?

The one their Interior Ministry (what we now call Homeland Security) liked to use: Resistance to Authority Disorder.

That was added in DSM-III

Ever hear of "Opposition Defiant Disorder"?

The main "symptom" of the "illness" is...wait for it...questioning authority figures.

A signature used to be here!

So the logic goes like this

IF you are human, then you have emotions
If you have emotions, then you have a mental disorder
IF you have a mental disorder, then you are not allowed to have guns

If you are human you are not allowed to have guns

My posted comment at article site...WOE NELLY

Woe Nelly....this is a bit reactionary. Ever heard a voice in your head? Ask someone who has...It is a very real imbalance of dopamine and whether carrot juice will help with that remains to be seen...The brain is an organ that can get sick just like the pancreas (diabetes) etc... Yes, pharmaceuticals are WAY over used. But, careful throwing out the baby with, I'll agree, lots of bathwater. Consciousness is a bit tricky for the medical model, but lots of Docs are well-intentioned and are doing their best against quite a puzzle. Also, there is a bit of "I hate the Doctor cause I am sick" thing going on here...Be fair if you are going to credibly fight tyranny.

Of course: how many of us know someone affected by them?

Of course: how many of us know someone affected by them?

I had a coworker. He was quiet, always depressed. His whole life was depression. He got tired of it and went to a psychiatrist. He was prescribed medications. He took them but did not like the side-effects. He stopped taking the meds. Then he put a gun to his head and killed himself.

He didn't want to kill himself. He wanted to IMPROVE himself, make himself better.

But he was given a death sentence by his doctor. Who probably shrugged and added his name to a roster for the statisticians...

Excellent Post Emalvini

There's no question about it anymore.

It's the drugs.

And these rat bastard psychiatrists who prescribe these drugs should be institutionalized.

I agree, Excellent!

Thank you!

makes it easier to get some medical marijuana. Dr. I'm suffering from some happiness what do you got for me?

Medical Marijuana May Be Of Some Use To Some....BUT

I don't want the legalization of it to be an excuse to smoke it just for some imagined feeling of well being.

My belief is that if you're a whole person (very few are these days) you don't need to experience the act of smoking it...

Personally, I am allergic to the smell of marijuana. Evertime i smell it, i get cravings for a batch of brownies...

From Sin To Psychiatry: The Devil Is In The Details

Since mans fall from grace in Gods garden, man has been making excuses for every problem that has befalled him.

Man had a defect, he had an ego and the devil through the woman appealled to the first mans ego. Adam wanted to be like God and so he ate the fruit thinking if the woman didn't die, then he could eat it as well and be like God, knowing good and evil. When God said if you eat of the fruit that is forbiden for you, ye shall surely die. But God didn't mean that Adam would die right away. He died slowly through the sin nature that got into him when he listened to the woman, instead of the inner wordless word.

So man unplugged from God and plugged into the woamn and ever since, man has followed and listened to the woman and used her as his comfort. When man is woman centered he has conflict because man natural state is to do the will of God, not the will of woamn.

So man comes into the world born of woman (woman centered) and the original sin nature that was inherited since the beginning. Man was disconnected from God and is easily tempted or seduced by others to do foolish things, including the most bizzare, murder and suicide.

When you allow others tempt you for their approval, you become a slave to them. Conflict grows and so you need to either do even more for them or you rebel and get angry. Both responses are wrong and led to even more conflict. So now you give youself 2 choices, either to beat the person down or be their slave for life.

Everytime you sin you die a little more until one day you either drop dead or die a cancerous creep or some unknown malady there are no names for.

Any good psychiatrist, if there is such a thing, knows this about human nature. He may try to persuade you to address the cause, but like most people, they don't know the key to succeeding. So now the psychiatrist has no medical alternative but to give you drugs. But the drugs drive you further and further away from the cure. The effects of most drugs make you less aware, less able to see things clearly for yourself. So now you are a slave to the drug pushers and you are no better off, in fact you are worse off.

There is a solution to the stress of everyday living, but you must ready and sincere about wanting to get better.

PS, Military or Ex-military are especially welcome..

Merry Christ - Mass to all.. and may God led us all back into his promised land..

original sin is a gender issue?

I like this song for the banjo, but mebbe you are onto something!

I realize already that I'm gonna catch hell for doing this...

But I feel compelled to make this point:

Psychiatry, although far from perfect, is an extremely valuable medical profession that quite literally saves lives, and significantly improves the lives of countless other patients.

Is the DSM ever perfect? Hell no. Huge mistakes in the past, I'm sure the DSM V will have problems as well.

But, pop quiz! What is the deadliest psychiatric disorder? I am 99% sure no one will get this right. Take a sec... mull it over. What psychiatric disease is most likely to cause your death? You can't just say "actively suicidal patient", that doesn't count. ;)

Answer: anorexia nervousa. That's right. Not Major Depressive Disorder, not Bipolar, not any flavor of schizophrenia, etc. Anorexia has a 10% mortality rate. How many of the folks here who are bashing all of psychiatry knew that? How many of you would try to talk someone w/ anorexia OUT of psychiatric counseling and, yes, likely psychotropic medication, knowing they've got a 1 in 10 shot of dying from this psychiatric disease?

Please guys. Try to be a little more sensitive to the millions of people who have serious mental health problems, many of whom are happier and healthier w/ psychiatric help.

Final caveat: I still struggle w/ the concept of involuntary commitment. I believe that the least amount of evil would come from NEVER using the government (or derivation thereof) to involuntarily commit any nonviolent adult against their will. I.E. if you are suicidal, it's not okay for me to stop you unless I'm worried you'll hurt someone else. ... it's terribly sad, and will lead to deaths that could have been avoided, but probably the greater moral high ground then kidnapping people against their will.

Quite right

There are millions of people that benefit from psychiatry and medicines. Natural News certainly bashes all of psychiatry and pills in general.

They are sensationalizing it, but do point out the trend. With more liberal definitions of disorders, meds will be much easier to prescribe. Rather than learning how to deal with our own "flaws", and those of others, a med(drug) can fix it.
There will be many reasons, expedience and money probably being chief. Meds allow for assembly line treatment of any psychiatric issue.
ADD wasn't a disease until there was a pill for it.
Back when, I was simply diagnosed with "lack of focus" :)

Just open the box and see

not all bankers are evil either.

ask your local banker to define what a "dollar" is. I mean he should know that...right?

Psychiatry as an Arm of the State.

Psychiatry as an Arm of the State

Put people away without due process. An old evil.

Free includes debt-free!

And I will say this again.

Soon not only will you be required to buy health insurance but you will be forced to submit to physical and mental screening. Obamacare is just the beginning. And these are the people who will be in charge of your health when you submit.

The sad thing is that most people will show their undying faith in these people by submitting willfully because they are so ignorant to the dangers not only to their physical and mental health but to their Spiritual salvation as well.

All praise the gods of pharmacia.

Sad state of affairs.

I have seen a large number of able bodied and capable folks apply for and receive disability insurance D/T the signature of a psychiatrist.

I suspect the numbers will be on the rise... unless the bottom falls out real soon.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

What would David Rosenhan say?

In Adam Curtis' wonderful documentary the Trap, Episode 1 subtitled "F**k You Buddy" describes the Rosenhan experiment of 1973, when Dr. David Rosehan, a student of R. D. Laing's anti-Psychiatry movement, tested the ability of doctors at mental hospitals around the country to distinguish between the sane and insane.

What happened was astonishing. Go to 38:00 of the documentary to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud6CnpJpYlU&list=PLC22A5CC5F0...

David Rosenahn is dead and can cause no more angst to the paranoids in the Psychiatry field.

Once again, the mass media (fashion world included) is telling the masses what is cool and hip.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

I guess part of Billy Currington's lyrics

now have the support of the mental health cabal:

"God is great, beer is good, and PEOPLE ARE CRAZY."

They Already Drug The Kids

Notice how almost every kid that has a personality that isn't easily controlled by the government run endroctrination centers (public schools) end up on drugs at the ripe old age of 5? No telling what the long term effect of that will be. It's been going on since the 80's as far as I know. How come there are so many "special needs" kids nowadays? It's starting to be a crime to send your kids to school. Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Op8Go...

They could save time and just call everything A-Z syndrome

A-Z syndrome - exhibiting symptoms of every TLA-Three Letter Anagram mental affliction that exists.

Comes backed by Amazon's A-z guarantee.

Prohibited where void. All rights reserved, all wrongs avenged.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

Thought Provoking...

Years before "The Freudian" movement (bowel movement; just passing throught- Ha) issues of anger, violence and insanity were handled by the "Church" (pastors, priests, etc) as "SIN".

We don't want to address sin because it is too simplistic. We want to make our problems complex. We want to anal-yse everything. Label everything as a disease, thus avoiding the real causes of "SIN". If you call sin a disease, you need to resort to drug therapy, shock treatment and all sorts of bizzare remedies which never work.

If you came from an abusive family environment, became so angered and enraged by prolonged misreatment and committed the act of murder. The act of murder was a direct result of that sin nature that crept into you and compelled you to go out and murder.

The root cause of sin is always great anger and resentment. We must treat the sinner. Make that person understand that "JUDGEMNT" is a sin. Judgement is the direct result of the rage and anger experinced as a result of being mistreated.

There is a old saying, you become what you hate. When hate gets inside of you (bad spirit) it goes to work on you, causing you to do things you normally wouldn't do. Right?

Watch your angers from a distsance. When you see them rise up inside you, just be objestive by watching itwithout rracting to it. Never let that anger get inside you or you're finished.

Jesus showed us how to handle injustice, didn't he? He said of those that had him crucified, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do".

Even if your hanging from a cross, you can take the avenue of forgivness. In that way, sin doesn't enter into you..

We need to be properly educated on how to cope with our little resentments, which generally lead to bigger ones.

Until we come to understand that psychiatry and all its false remedies will never solve our problems, we will only make them worse in our society.

For Coping Strategies, Go to: http://www.fhu.com/

"Original Sin" answers all those questions....

and now you know why it is easy to get into a HUGE fight with a Christian..
or at least how...

"sin" as the lead statement does not result in rational

It is PERFECTLY subjective -- requiring a fear-based way of viewing the world.

A hell-ish and nightmarish incentive schema.

"We" (in liberty movement) are found of saying "opt out" -- so, I will opt-out of "your" man-made world view.

does that make you a baptist?

or are you "born again"?
not trying to pick a fight. but I suspect there is much dissention among the rank and file on this subject.

I am "open" to God speaking too me directly

I am "closed" to man-certified "representatives" of God (too me they are not "of God").

The only ethical position to take is "I (as the individual) do not know why we are hear, hence I come, or the import of the human condition" -- Because "I don't know" I should not make a claim as-to-why.

If every individual "of Earth" had that ethic; we'd be free of war and hierarchical governance.

A "religious" person is one who is "bent" by hierarchical submissiveness. He desires to submit and to be submitted. More so, he desires to make others submit (mostly his wife and children -- but his neighbors as well).
