What is your favorite music/band/artist?

Ive been a member for over 5 years now. One thread I can't remember seeing posted was asking who our favorite artists are. We are a super creative bunch and Im sure our tastes in creativity reflect it.

Please name, link or describe the artist that is your favorite. Please don't limit it to one kind. Name your favorite visual artist, video maker, sculptor, musician, lyricist... song writer.

Ill give you an example:

Visual: Glenn Barr. Younger guy from Detroit. His art has a Detroit feel. Dark and menacing but still playful and fun. http://glbarr.com/

Music: Brother Ali. An albino hip hop MC from Milwaukee. He wrote the most powerful anti-government song Ive ever heard. This is his video 'Uncle Same Goddamn' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO18F4aKGzQ

Do one, two.. three.. lets just share some of our favorite artists!! Im curious and excited to see what the DP community likes.

Maiden's my favorite band,

Maiden's my favorite band, But anyone here that likes hard rock/ metal that you can understand the lyrics, Check these guys out www.sons-of-liberty.net You can listen to their songs for free. It's the singer from Iced Earth's (admittidly i know very little about this band) side project. He's the real deal, in the CD Booklet the album is dedicated to RP and AJ. The first song is titled "Creature From Jeckyl Island, starts out with a sound of a train and ends with a Tom Jefferson quote. Well worth a check out, very pro Liberty, the most pro Liberty music i have ever heard.

How about a Kasabian song with a Ron Paul theme?

Like this one:

After all this is the Daily Paul. I've kept this one in my iPod since 2009. I've never rotated it out. I don't think it's possible for me to burn out on it! Love Kasabian!

But then like most posts here I guess I could pick some other favorites that have nothing to do with Ron Paul. I admit I have a weakness for rock and roll of all kinds so here are three more just for kicks (Also in my iPod continuously for years - It's impossible for me to burn out on any of these either):

Helloween "how many tears"

A lot of things occur each day
We've got to live with on our way
There's so much misery on the screen
With commercials in between
And the Russians won't be so late
Uncle Sam don't wanna wait
No matter if you're black or white
You never ever had all right

And look up to the eternal skies
see warfare even there
What once has been a paradise
Now destruction and despair

In other worlds the children die
Lacking food ill from a fly
Oppressed by troops to tame their land
It's all the same again
If any man is free on earth
Then tormentors steal his birth
They slam gun butts in his face
And leave his woman choked in mace

So stand up for our human rights
Push back this pest of hate
Raise your voice pass on the light
Unite! it's not too late

How many tears flow away
To become a sea of fears
How many hearts are torn apart
Till another torment starts

But before the world
Turns into a sun
All cruelty and violence
On earth will be dead and gone

How many tears flow away
To become a sea of fears
How many hearts are torn apart
Till another torment starts

But before the world
Turns into a sun
All cruelty and violence
On earth will be dead and gone

Crisis- In the Shadow of the Sun - ... just a bunch of esoteric.

there were cool bands that i can't find anymore, some have similar names. there was this one goth chick in this band called crisis and she would sing, whoah, i found the song. but there was another band called Cold, and i can't find them. my friends would play cool music and i had to ask what they were listening to. and there was this band called HedPu i think, and i only liked one of their songs, and i can't find it. i guess that's about it for my friend's esoteric music. some they created themselves and was amazing, and no one will ever hear of it. most of the good music stays in the garages of people and never gets played on the radio.

I'm not afraid to show my age

My favorite is the "Moody Blues". Listen to "Lost in a lost world", "Revolutions never won it's just another sort of gun to do again what they have done".
