Technology used for Good!? Designing Your Future

Technology used for good: Bio Nano Simulation and Virtual Evolution. Building materials will be made from bacteria or a calcium like substance. Using computer simulation, you can feed the bacteria and watch the bacteria evolve digitally. You will be able to explore what to feed the bacteria to get new materials. These new materials are less toxic, and use the sun for energy. Which materials perform the best in an earthquake or hurricane? Which are the most energy efficient? Can we alter DNA for the good of humanity? This is already happening so take a look at your future.

All the data about each one of us is stored in the cloud. Cheap sensors will be sprinkled into everything such as wood, buildings, furniture, and bridges. Your city will be watching you. We will be able to capture the world through sensor networks.

We all have heard of 3D printing where you can print items specifically designed to your specifications. Nike uses 3D to customize shoes for you. Sensors in the shoes will know your pressure points so the next pair you "print" will be even more suited to your needs.

Bloomingdales, (also available from the comfort of your home) uses cheap Kinect sensors to take body measurements.

For the one person who liked

For the one person who liked the video above, I just came across a really awesome video that demonstrates the use of sensors in all the building materials in New York City. Hope you enjoy. This is our future.
