When a madman plows into a crowd of people, do they ever talk about the features of the car?

Whenever a maniac plows into a crowd of people, you never hear the outcry about the vehicle's features. It's always about the madman behind the wheel. People aren't talking about how quickly it could go from 0 to 60, or that it had an automatic transmission, or how many gallons of gas it carried. They talk about what a horrific act it was, and try and figure out how they can reduce the fatalities the next time it happens. They don't talk about limiting the gas tank, the acceleration, or the transmission.

Why isn't the same applied to mass shootings? A gun is simply a tool. It provided food and skins for the early settlers, as well as protection of life and property from tyrannical Governments. In fairness, it was also used to TAKE life and property from the American Indians. The gun is like a car or an ax. All three can be used to kill and injure people rather quickly. Without someone behind the wheel, or on the trigger, the tool sits there and does nothing..

People kill people, not guns, cars, or axes. There will never be a way to eradicate all of the guns or evil people off of this planet. It is the stark reality of our time. If all guns were eradicated, people would use knives. If knives were eradicated people would use axes. Where would it end?

So what is the solution to all of this? The laws already in place did not stop this alleged shooter. He supposedly stole the gun from his mother who had allegedly purchased it legally.

I heard Juan Williams on O'Reilly's show last night, proposing that
"entire FAMILY background checks were necessary for one person to obtain a permit." So how would that stop a burglar from breaking in when the family was gone and stealing the weapons to use on other people? What about friends and acquaintances? Do they need to be "background checked" as well? Where would it end?

Regardless of what or who you think was responsible for this, there will a solution proposed (most likely imposed) on the majority of law abiding citizens.

What we are witnessing (imo) is called the Hegelian Dialectic. Simply described as "Problem, Reaction, Solution."
A PROBLEM (whether it be organic or manufactured) exists.
The public REACTS in fear and or anger, and demands their Govt. do something to keep them safe.
Then a SOLUTION is proposed/imposed by the people who created the problem in the first place. It is usually a trade of liberty for security.

Whether one thinks this was just an organic result of a "violent drugged culture," some deranged individual, or that there was a shooter programmed to go in and do the deed, we can agree that there is indeed a problem. You can almost rest assured that they will "never let a serious crisis go to waste" as explained by Rahm Emanuel in these 13 seconds.

These "lone wolf" incidents (I believe) will increase in frequency, and the "solutions" will be presented to you through the MSM and various politicians. They already are, as evidenced in the barrage of articles, appearances, and comments from various gun control advocates.
Dianne Feinstein To Introduce Bill To Ban Assault Weapons As Well As Large Clips (2:14)

To be clear, I'm not making any assumptions about this most recent shooter. I was not there to witness it, and I do not know the individual. All I know is what I was told by the mainstream media, who were given a story to disseminate.

I can say that I have studied the shooting in Arizona, and the one in Aurora extensively. I have listened to the police radio recordings, read and watched witness testimony, and examined some of the court documents. Things are not always as they seem.

You can think I'm dipping my toe into the "crazy pond" (or even doing a full on cannonball for that matter) but when you examine the history of programs like "Project MK Ultra" and "Operation Mockindbird" as well as the potential with hypnosis to create an assassin, as well as the use of drugs like scopolomine, it makes you wonder.
World's Scariest Drug (Documentary Exclusive)

Gun sales have skyrocketed over the weekend since this shooting. That tells me that a significant amount of people see the "solution" coming down the road. Lawmakers on both sides are probably going to make rash decisions, just like they did shortly after 9/11 with the "Patriot Act."

What is YOUR solution? Are you going to sit back and let these people punish you, for the hideous acts of a few? History is replete with examples of horrific things happening to populations after they have been disarmed. You may think "it can never happen here," but you might be mistaken. That is not a mistake I'm willing to make.

Jefferson - you're right!

No mention of the kind of car, make, model, color, or transmission style:

He's the man.

Didn't the inventor of Prozac

mow down a bunch of innocent people in San Francisco with his vehicle? Maybe that was just a ruse? I can't find anything to support it now but I could have sworn maybe 8 or 10 years ago the creator (not the pharma company of course) ran over tons of people in a farmers market or mowed them down on a city street.

how about we ban fire!!!!!!

how about we ban fire!!!!!! is the aurua theater shooting was done by fire instead, I am sure many more would have died... Arson is the leading cause of fires (267,000 annually) in the United
States and the second leading cause of deaths (475) and injuries
(2,000); arson causes $1.4 billion in property loss each year.
S Community, municipal, and Federal interventions in addressing certain
aspects of the problem have ameliorated arson incidence.
S 50% of arson fires occur outdoors, 30% in structures, and 20% in vehicles.
S Half of all arson arrests are juveniles.
S Vacant and abandoned buildings are targets for arsonists. Also poorer
neighborhoods experience 14 times the number of arsons as higher
income neighborhoods.
S Church arsons increased sharply in 1996.
Arson is the leading cause of fire in the United States.
Each year, an estimated
267,000 fires are attributed to arson, which result in $1.4 billion in property loss and
cause over 2,000 injuries and 475 deaths.
As a result, arson prevention and investigation have become the focus of increased attention within the federal government, the fire
service, and the criminal justice system.

Good post Jefferson.....

And your points should not be discounted.

There is all kinds of information out on the net to verify the effects of psychotropics or hypno-drugs. And as I have stated several times before here on DP, with never any response, was that people need to become more associated with psychoTRONICS also. Things are not just always narrowed down to just drugging alone. The movie, "Lawn Mower Man", had a lot of referances and reality to this.

Nuthin' new under the sun. The objective of brainwashing was not to just make a manchurian candidate here and there, but make manchurian candidateS, like in, Entire Nations......

This is a silly argument

It's not the whole car that would've killed those people only the bumpers. Ban car bumpers and you solve the problem!

Why don't they ban cars?

Don't worry they're workin on it.

First they came for the automatics.....

Because: Some animals are more equal than other animals. -Animal Farm-

What the? > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MTIwY3_-ks

The killer drove a 3000 pound fully automatic death machine,

which allowed him to crush his victims without the need to manually shift gears or operate the clutch. The vehicle also had over 200 horsepower, total overkill for making trips to the grocery store. How long will drivers be allowed to operate such machines, which are designed with only one purpose in mind?

Get a horse.

Ban automatic transmissions!

Why do you keep posting this thing about scopolamine and MK-Ultra? That is even more ridiculous than blaming guns. Drugs, just like guns, are a tool. But it is NOT a tool for brainwashing because it doesn't work like that.

Here is an explanation I have posted before regarding this scopolamine myth...

"Scopolamine is often hyped as a mythical drug that turns you into a brainwashed zombie that is also capable of pulling off complex schemes and physically complicated maneuvers like spree killings, but that's not how those psychoactive drugs work.

Scopolamine, which is COMMONLY used in medicine and is not some secret CIA top secret drug, makes you basically incapacitated in high doses. In a standard medical pharmacology course, in which you learn about approximately 1000 different pharmaceuticals, scopolamine is one of the FIRST 10 or so drugs you learn about. It's a standard example of an anti-cholinergic drug and it's medical properties have been long known. You can rob a victim, sure, just like you can use it to assist in the sedation of a patient for surgery, but you won't be able to get them complete an advanced task.

When you are tripping hard it's a challenge to even put on your pants. Also, it blurs your vision so strongly you are basically blind. Scopolamine is in the same class of drugs the ophthalmologist uses to dilate your pupils. (Have you ever tried looking at something in your hands after leaving the eye doctor?)

It wouldn't make sense to use it as a brainwashing tool for mass murder."

Jefferson's picture

never been to the eye doctor so I couldn't say. I've "tripped" a few times as a younger man, and can relate to your point.

I remember you protesting when someone posted the Vice documentary about the drug. Did you watch the entire film? Do you consider emptying out your ATM and handing a stranger the money an "advanced task?" If you haven't taken the time to watch the film, then it's kind of hard to have a discussion about the drug and its capabilities.

If you did watch the entire film, do you think these people were lying about their experiences?

I also noticed that you commented that the CIA "ceased their MK-Ultra type operations 60 years ago." How do you know they did? How do you know that it wasn't continued under another name, as sometimes Govt. operations are known to do? How do you know that they didn't find a different combination of drugs to achieve the same goal?

That saying of "There's a war on for your mind" comes to mind. "If I can make you believe absurdities, I can make you commit atrocities." If I could convince you that someone was hurting one of your loved ones, I'll bet I could make you do something in retaliation. (Drugs or not)

It seems like being able to control the mind of an individual, a group, or even an entire country is one of the most powerful weapons available. I don't see why our Govt. or any others for that matter, would NOT continue study in this field.

I don't think I've made any assertions about this most recent shooting. I do however "wonder" about the circumstances of the Aurora shooting.

I was given scapolamine

I was given scapolamine during labor with my first child. He's right. You are so out of it you don't even know your own name, never mind be able to do anything you may be told to do. I can't for the life of me imagine trying to remember any kind of complex instructions while on that drug. It just isn't even possible. And then to try to follow through on any instruction would seem impossible to me. I do however, Jefferson, agree with your assessments on MK Ultra and Operation Mockingbird. I don't believe those programs were stopped at all. They were successful as far as the Govt was concerned, so there would be no reason to stop them. I think it was William Colby, first director of the CIA, who said, "We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." I think that's the problem we have today, a complicit mainstream media feeding us constant propraganda.

Saw on facebook: Nearly 90,000 people reported being raped

in the United States in 2008. Does your solution involve cutting off every male's penis?

You'd have to lop off the testicles

That's where the hormones (drugs) that "cause" rape are produced.

Yes, get out the ol' Burdizzos

the cowboys around here call them bur-DEEZ-ee-ohs. OUCH!

now you've

gone too far.
