POLITICO: Supposed Anti-tax Activist Grover Norquist, Signs Off on Boehner's 'Plan B' Tax Increase

By KATE NOCERA | Politico

Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform is giving House Republican’s a pass on Speaker John Boehner’s “Plan B” to let tax rates go up on incomes above $1 million.

In a blog post on ATR’s website, the group states that a vote for Plan B, which could come up as early as Thursday, will not be a violation of the pledge.

“This legislation — popularly known as “Plan B”— permanently prevents a tax increase on families making less than $1 million per year. Republicans supporting this bill are this week affirming to their constituents in writing that this bill — the sole purpose of which is to prevent tax increases — is consistent with the pledge they made to them. In ATR’s analysis, it is extremely difficult — if not impossible—to fault these Republicans’ assertion.”

ATR argues that because House Republicans have “already voted twice to prevent any tax increases on any American” and because the bill “contains no tax increases of any kind” it would not be a pledge violation. Boehner’s bill permanently extends the Bush tax cuts for those who make less than $1 million, and would simply let taxes go up for those above that threshold by letting them expire.

Once hyperinflation hits....

....every bum living under a bridge will be earning over $1 million / year.

In other words, this is a tax INCREASE on EVERY American to hit them in 2015/2016.

Pledge...what pledge?

I don't see no stinking pledge :)

I wonder if Ron will vote for it, since otherwise taxes go up in

January on MORE people? That part is automatic, because without action the Bush tax cuts EXPIRE. It takes a majority in both houses plus presidential signature to change that. The Dems are supposedly going to vote against this to get MORE 'revenue increases'. Ron likes to minimize taxes. I'm interested to see how he will vote.

Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesnt want to hear -RonPaul

Signs Off?

Or was he bought off?!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

.

Good question.

You're Welcome Tom!

We all do our best to expose the lies and deceit..

Heaven forbid they do anything intelligent...

like cutting spending, ending futile wars, or supporting countries with foreign aid who hate us, stop funding terrorism or ending Obozocare!

If you can read this thank a teacher. Because it's in English thank a soldier!

The Coalition to Reduce Spending is the Future

Norquist and his organisation have failed. Our taxes have been kept in check, but spending and inflation have exploded.

The future is the Coalition to Reduce Spending and their anti-spending pledge. Their officially agnostic on taxes in order to encourage Democrats and moderate Republicans to make the pledge, but if we keep cutting spending, then eventually taxes will be cut, too.

Norquist had me fooled!

It's just so hard to find someone as true blue like Ron Paul. Many jump ship because they either get scared, can't lick em so they join em, or they were never really committed to liberty in the first place and so they just let themselves be bought off.

So very sad..

Ron Paul will vote for this

Ron Paul will vote for this as well, because he was one of only three Republicans who voted for a bill to extend the Bush tax cuts for people making less than $250,000. He feels like voting against this kind of bill would be the same as raising taxes on those who make less than 1 million a year.
