Tomorrow Is Already Today

Everything
Here
Is
Like rivers

Some rivers are more
Or less dirty
But all
Flow to an ocean

Your body is
Hundreds of metals
Minerals

Cows still
Have stronger bones than you
While eating grass

Your politics
Nobody will care about
Hundred of years from nowdays
Your money will have as much value
As Russian 5 ruble copper coin from the 19th century

Your pride will vanish
The moment you have no job and no place to live
The moment you start to live in a tent by the river

You will see then
Feeding pigeons was nothing to laugh about
Or seeing someone helping a blind man to cross the street

Your tallest buldings
Have not given shelter to the abused

Your warfare
Created pseudo peace
Where your leaders obtain Nobel Prize
While ordering the murder of innocent children

Spider on the wall
It could teach you lessons
You have to give it an ear

Have you seen a spider
Walking around in chains?

Tomorrow is already today

But what about the Day After

But what about the Day After Tomorrow?

Excellent Tom

Thank you.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

Your best yet, LL.

Love the line about the spider - so full of Tao.
Very powerful.

+

The comparison of human bodies and rivers...some are more dirty. some have more metals. they still flow to the source.
yes

Your tallest buildings
Have not given shelter to the abused.

my favorite two lines. what if you put the line break-

Your tallest buildings have
Not given shelter to the abused

i don't know if "writers workshop" on dp is a thing. in my mind, "have" on the first line emphasizes possession. "I have"...da-da-da. "I own"...da-da-da. my buildings have. and then when the next line starts "not" the initial reading is thrown. maybe there is some new conflict between the lines of having and not having. or wasting. Have feels like a + word and not is a - word.
maybe.

But I love the line, it's beautiful.

the last three stanzas are cryptic and reads beautifully.

I like it. Here's a question

Since it is already December 21 2012 in China, yesterday I asked my Chinese friend to let me know if the world ended in China. I have not heard from her which is NOT a good sign.

I'll keep you updated.
