Dugg!

People are stupid.

Yeah, I could see thinking Romney would end the war from simple lack of experience, but McCain? He said he would have gone to war for no reason.

The battlefield is like a playground to McCain.

people are crazy! I got into

people are crazy! I got into a huge argument with my gfs dad (stupid... I know) about whether or not we should have gone in just because saddam was a "bad guy"!!! ridiculous!!!

Excellent points! We need to get to work...

We need to spend a little more time with people...and educate them on the issues. If the 36% that disapprove of the War had voted for the candidate that
actually did too...Ron Paul would have been a strong second!

GOP voters haven't made up their minds yet

The schizo roulette wheel of Romney, McCain and Huckabee with Ron patiently circling on thier flank is going to come to an end real quick folks. Dr. Paul is the only candidate who has been running tv and radio ads in Nevada not to mention the boots on the pavement as apparently the other candidates didn't consider the state to be important. This strategy by the Paul campaign could turn out to be monster brilliant as the talk is starting to go around the internet that Ron could win this thing and blow this race wide open. The timing of a win would be perfect as we are less than 3 weeks from Super Tuesday and voters would really start paying attention to a shakeup like this, it would be great timing with the money bomb coming up soon as well. Dr. Paul is going to turn this thing rightside up I luv it!!!

He is damned savvy huh : )

knows a thing or two on how to be elected- it all really does have the makings for a perfect storm

that would be amazing

that would be amazing

There are several reasons...

First, the media really does skip over RP's name quite a bit. They go from the top three candidates to the bottom two and ignore Ron.

Second, when they do report on RP, the caveat is always: he's not going to win.

Third, in any MSM report on Paul, his message is always skewed by the reporter. Example: "Ron Paul wants to abolish all public schools" or "Ron Paul is against state-funding of education." WE know Ron Paul doesn't want to end public education...and WE know Ron Paul's message is that schools should only be funded at the state level, as opposed to the federal level. The media has been lying consistently. And don't forget the media keeps saying that parents aren't responsible enough to make decisions for their children's education.

Fourth, the media continuously throws in negative words like "rabid supporters," "insurgents" (like we're terrorists), "following" like we belong to a cult.

Lastly, they stereotype his grassroots as being anarchists and troublemakers or anti-government protesters. WE know that the majority of his grassroots are (just for the sake of contrast) "normal." Remember, NPR had that report on who RP supporters are, and that fraud Roth Bennet from the Houston Chronicle said something like: they are mostly young, disenfranchised males and not from Texas.

Well, WE know we're of all ages, just like everyone else's support-base. And yes, with Ron's message we're going to get some of those anarchists and anti-war supporters, even though Lou Dobbs says there's no anti-war candidate running. I think we all embrace them. But you know what, we also have a huge chunk of those All-American, "normal" people, too.

We've also got 75% of the military, if donations are an indicator.

No surprise

So people angry with Bush and opposed to the war are not voting for Paul in large numbers? Why should this be any more of a surprise than the fact that Paul draws more support from pro-choice than pro-life voters? Or from those preferring path to citizenship to deportation?

Simple explanation: the message is not getting through. Either people don't hear it, or the message is not clear (ie, rambling debate answers), or people are tuning Dr. Paul out. I think the latter is probably the biggest factor. So you get people who don't agree with him on major issues supporting him as a protest vote (18-24 year-olds especially) and people who do agree with him on major issues (Iraq, economy) not supporting him because they're not listening to him.

See all the anti-intuitive results here: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#M...

They don't think he has a chance so...

They are going for someone else - they hear the message, but again, don't think he has a chance and/or cannot change things the way he indicates.

dumb is dumb is dumb!

did you hear about mitt

did you hear about mitt Romney's proposed package?

It's more than that

It's more than that. In a word or two they're ignorant and apathetic. Somehow, some of them think it's their "duty" to vote, but not their duty to be informed. So we'll just let the all seeing tube tell us who's winning, and we'll vote for the winner. It's always good to vote for the winner, because he's winning...he MUST be good, after all he's winning.

t's really that simple. They have been pumped full of this garbage for at least the last 30 years so much, that they can't think for themselves. I have proved this to myself by doing a "man on the street" questionnaire using three simple questions. At least they should be simple. They are:

What form of government did the founders set up for the United States?

What right does the Second Amendment to the US Constitution speak of?

Can you name four people currently running for the office of the President of the United States?

Believe it or not folks, NO ONE gets the first two right. 90% or above get the third one right. Try it yourself if you don't believe me. Not on your inner circle, but random people. Do you know why? The first two are not hammered on the MSM every day, and the third one is.

Does that tell you where we stand?

Thats really scary mate...

Is the public numb

MSM has been pumping out politics all year. Has the public just tuned out of it?

yes, yes they have

Hence the importance of an

Hence the importance of an ISSUE-led / ISSUE-driven approach, versus a name recognition one. Integrating this angle into an issue of great concern, to the largest base of voters to be found anywhere, wouldn't hurt either.
