UPDATE: Ex Marine Released from Mexican Jail (Video)

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Jon Hammar, the 27-year-old former Marine from Palmetto Bay, is now back in the United States after spending almost five months imprisoned in Mexico.

Hammar was released Friday night from the Matamoros jail and driven over the U.S.-Mexico border into Brownsville, Texas.

The release was met with relief from the Hammar family.

Finally somebody did a good job. Whomever it was is to be commended yet the guy should of been released much earlier. It probably cost some money and favors...hopefully not.

Frankly, I have never been to Mexico and I am very relieved to hear this for this Marine.

Jon should spread his story far and wide. I would happy to know he suffered no permanent injuries. Imo he needs to get very drunk and 'purge' himself of any harmful waste products he might of ingested while in that hell hole....plus it would be a great workout for the abs. ;)
