Michael Farr and Schiff had a productive conversation.

Too often the other guest go on wild goose chases that are totally irrelevant.

Thanks eduardo89.

Free includes debt-free!

If no deal is reached

Automatic cuts kick in. This includes DEEP cuts to the Defense Department.

That is why neo-cons are so 'concerned' about the fiscal cliff. They couldn't give a rat's ass about raising taxes, other cuts, or a balanced budget.

They are just worried they can't fund another war with the defense cuts.

This is why some commentators are so worried while others seem not to really care one way or another.

I'd rather we do go over the cliff. Kudos to the non-leadership Republicans in the house who also seem to understand this.

Go over the cliff, let the deep cuts in spending happen. Then adjust the taxes. Sounds like a damn good plan to me, helluva lot better than Boehner & Cantor's neo-con crap plan.

There are no "deep cut" to

There are no "deep cut" to defense. It's $500 billion in cuts over 10 years. The budget is $700 billion per year, and that's not including projected increases. In nominal terms the budget probably won't even be cut a penny, over the 10 years it was projected to increase by more than that.

The cuts amount to 7% without taking into account yearly projected increases.

7% is a step in the right direction

Sure beats the 0% cut the neo-cons Eric Cantor, Lindsay Graham, and John Boehner wanted in their 'plan B'

It doesn't mean much to the average guy on the street, who probably think the defense budget should be trimmed even more.

But it terrifies the Neo-Conservatives - it's like Charles Manson moved in next door. They are freaky-scared.

Commentors laughing at Schiff

When the news organization pair Schiff up with commentors that laugh or chuckle at Schiff's comments you know when are getting close to a major event coming. This is what was happening as we were getting closer and closer to the housing bubble crash. The closer we were getting to it, the louder they were laughing. They laugh because they don't have a good counter-argument. Put on the seat belts folks were are heading for another crash!

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

Profound Failure of Washinton!

That was quite the understatement!

I don't believe it has been pointed out enough what a gaggle of failures we have in the 'District of Criminals'... We need to ask if they took as much interest in running our nation as they have their personal welfare, that we would not even be in this "Crisis"! Conflict of interest?!

How many of us would still be employed after such failure to perform?!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Cliff ?

It is so unfortunate for us all that Ron Paul chose Pete Schiff to be associated with, as he is obviously a pawn of the super-rich sbsconders in Uruguay and other world-wide "undisclosed locations", who stole social security after enjoying the huge Bush tax cuts. I have given up on Ron Paul now in almost every way, as being duped by similar regime puppets, and only hold him in high regard for his stance against the federal reserve, which the Kennedy's were in the process of getting rid of when they were "interrupted", as JFK's silver certificates were already in circulation, printed by the government as legal tender and without DEBT...the exact opposite of the frn, which we have all suffered under since 1913. Wake up America and smell the sovereign currency !...Remember Iceland and repudiate the national debt part that is the fed's blight upon us !

Tom LaMar

Kennedy was going to dismantle the CIA. Which was more likely the real reason he was rubbed out! And with that in mind we could deduce that the CIA, Federal reserve and many others are intertwined...

Given up on Ron Paul? Sounds like you've either given up altogether or never were really in!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!
