Mall parking lots were packed with after-Christmas shoppers. But nowhere were the lines longer than at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and the Van Nuys Masonic Temple, where thousands of people came to exchange their guns for Ralphs gift cards.

Cars queued up for blocks at the drive-through events, with the city giving cards worth up to $100 for handguns, shotguns and rifles, and up to $200 for assault weapons. There was a bit of haggling involved, but the guns were all taken.

And if memory serves me correctly...

Several years ago the LAPD was caught selling many of those guns back onto the streets , taking weapons out of the hands of Law abiding citizens and putting them into the hands of Criminals who would not otherwise qualify to purchase them from a legal source. Some of those Firearms also ended up in the private collections of those officers involved in the "Buy Back" Programs here locally.

Let them give their guns away to the patriot militia's all accross America?

It Pays To Remember...

...that not only are such people idiots, but the 'average' gun-owner in America is not in any way constitutionally attuned, focused on liberty or even cognizant or caring of Amendment II's meaning or intent.

A vast number of 'gun-owners' merely have a gun or three. Some for occasional hunting, aka Fudds (the typical .22, shotgun and center-fire rifle), or they don't even hunt or use them. They may have Dad's rifle, Grampa's .22, or Uncle Skippy's shotgun, but beyond having them, they mean little or nothing.

These are the boobs who show up at turn in events.

Serious gunnies, the liberty-attuned and constitutionalists, make up a very small percentage of America's gun-owning millions.

I would love to hear some inerviews of these people

There has to be something driving this beyond a bag of groceries. Are the guns all rusted beyond repair? Are they stolen over time and stockpiled until free grocery day? I'm going to the next one they have in dc or md and finding out.
