Piers Morgan: Bible And Constitution ‘Inherently Flawed Time For An Amendment To Bible’

by Noah Rothman | Mediaite

On Monday, CNN host Piers Morgan invited Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren on his program to discuss gay marriage and the bible. Fresh off his feud with Second Amendment rights activists following his full-throated defense of stricter gun control laws in the wake of the Newtown massacre, Morgan inspired further outrage among the religious when he told the pastor he thought it was time for an “amendment to the bible.” In Morgan’s opinion, the bible, like the American Constitution, is “inherently flawed.”

troll supreme

this idiot-buffoon thinks his attention whoring days will bring him unimaginable riches. He is managing to piss off the vast majority of his viewers. Whatever short term gains the network will have will be short lived. Soon this troll won't find a rock to crawl under.

LOL!

And he'd be the judge of the Bible!

Did anyone watch the last 10 seconds where Piers

says the conversation should always be respectful and courteous?
calling Pratt "insanely stupid" was respectful? bloody wanker

He's just looking for attention

He saw how much attention he got because of what he said about gun control, so now he is saying something even more controversial to get more publicity. Ignore him.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

Many in USA still confuse

Btitish accent for intelligent. Few understand that UK Labour party has 15 socialist associations linked to it as an ideological base. The biggest one is Fabian Socialist party where Tony Blair and many UK rulers belong.

Ratings Whore

CNN desperate for ratings and they think they hit pay dirt with this genius.

Piers

You had me up until the constitution. I hate the fact that I agree with him on the bible issue...

Morgan is practicing the kind of "confrontation TV" that...

used to be practiced by Geraldo Rivera. I think the turning point for Rivera was when he got his nose broken on air by skinheads. We are living in a much more violent world, Mr. Morgan. Are you sure you want to follow this path?

now I see

why even the brits don't want him back. Maybe he can go to Venezuela?

Imagine the nerve.

You're not even a citizen of the United States and you claim on an American television program that our Constitution is "flawed." This idiot needs to get his sorry, Tory ass back to his beloved UK.

great...

here's to the next hour of youtubing peirs morgan fails.

Me: You're an idiot.
Piers: Well, I agree to disagree.

They that give up liberty for security deserve neither.

Tom Jefferson re-wrote the Bible -- Took out most the nasty

bits.

When I was a kid Mass was in Latin (all of it) and Baptist Church was NOT about the Mega-Pastors, it was about Jesus, Service, and Charity -- there was NEVER discussion about Voting and Lobbying.

Now, in the Baptist and Catholic Church, you are likely to see Youth Pop Bands, Hip Hop, Middle Age Rockers-for-Jesus, etc etc etc.

Washington-Jefferson-Adams (to the one) circumvented the Constitution in Big Gov't fashion......every president, every senate, and every house did (to small degree or to large) the very same thing.

Either Gov't comes from Religion (the religious mindset) or the Reverse is true -- Since there has never been a "truly" Secularist Society (America being the closest but far far far "libertarian" let alone "consumer-sovereigns" as Mises argued-for).

Sooooooo, even though Piers is an attention-seeking-bafoon his argument is NOT without precedence -- it is perfect historical fact, in fact.

What he should have said was "let's stop pretending the majority follow the purest interpretations of the bible or the constitution"

Right On

First, slight correction. America might be the least secularist society in the world. We are the most religious nation and more than double the number of fundamentalists/literalists than even the Muslim nations. You cannot even disagree with religion in this politically-correct country without being raked over the coals by the masses.

Other than that, I agree. If you look at the history of the megachurches - they began with the takeover of the Neoconservatives. They are not paid for with tithes, that is for sure. The religious takeover of the country began in the 50's. So, I guess to answer your question - religion comes from government, or more specifically, the governing/banking elite.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

I stand corrected

I was thinking in terms of our Constitution (that we were the most secularist -- in "declaration") but in reality you are right.

"Come on Octobox, you're better than this"

*wink*

I do agree with you.

Under Eisenhower?

I agree 100% -- Gov't came first; I guess it's logical from a Pagan / Tribal perspective -- tribe came first. That gave way to clans and then nations.

The absolute worst thing we

The absolute worst thing we can do to Piers is to ignore him completely.
Piers Morgan, like all of Troll-kind, cannot survive without attention.

Piers can't go 10 seconds

Piers can't go 10 seconds without saying something unmatchably inane. It's long past time to ignore him.
