Want to Feel Empowered For A Change? Post Your First Daily Paul Thread. (updated)

(Check out this list of Daily Sources of good content to bring back to DP http://www.dailypaul.com/279440/please-contribute-to-my-sign... )

Hey all.

I'm like most of you. I'm some guy living out here somewhere. I read stuff on the internet. I try to get some information to help me live my life or at least make some sense of it for what it's worth. I try to help out where and when I can. I even started posting some of these views here on the Daily Paul.

And I've never felt better.

Not that I'm some sort of savant. In fact, I would be willing to admit that at least half of what I've posted here was, for lack of a better word, crap. That's not the point. The point is that I posted it. And I meant it when I said it. And I'd say it again if given half the chance.

(point coming soon I hope...)

Since you bring it up, yes, I do have a pint, er, point...

POST SOMETHING!!!!!!!

Does it matter what it is??? NO!!!

Put up a video - yours, someone elses,
put up an article - yours, someone elses,
put up an unqualified, unsubstantiated, unheard-of opinion (yours, someone elses)

Worst case scenario - you are forgotten forever more.
Next best to worst - you are heralded by fools and mocked by your betters.
Best case - your thread lives on through internet eternity - 12-15 hours
Even bester case - Mike 'The Michael' makes a spectacle of you by way of the evasive and highly coveted 'front page'.

But if you don't say it you'll never know...

Please break out of your shell. Feal the fear and do it anyway. Give us something to work with. Do it. Do it. Do it now. Post to the PAUL.

Funky jam. Awesome.

Please remember, even if it happened 50 or 75 years ago it is not 'old news', if it is still affecting us today.

So a 2 or 5 year old youtube isn't old news, either.

Post it. Do it NOW.

9-11 was a panda job.

I loved this post, chris.

Most of my posts have been seen by few, if any. But I did once have the thrill of finding 2, 3, 4, eventually 6 pages of comments mostly mocking me for my (misguided) viewpoint - not that I mean to imply that all of the comments reflected that sentiment! A few expressed what a tedious, verbose writer I was. But, I did it. And as you said, I'd do it again. Speak now or forever hold your peace! I did love your post here urging the wallflowers among us to do the same. And now (some four weeks later), I'm proud to see you trying to "make it last as long as you can!"

Hey, I love this song, baby. Glad you did, too. :)

With all the talk about the site lately...

thought I'd bump this 'old' thread...

9-11 was a panda job.

"Posts, everyone!"

I love the scenes in Mary Poppins when the captain next door fires the cannon - BOOM! - and household members hastily take up their assigned posts to keep the house intact, that is, to keep vases from smashing to the floor, the piano from sliding across the room, and so on. [The movie is not on you-tube, though you can hear the line here: http://movie-sounds.org/old-movie-samples/mary-poppins/posts... ]

I'm glad you bumped this old thread as a reminder. We don't have assigned roles to keep the site going and keep it interesting and informative. It's up to us to voluntarily do as you said: post articles, videos, and opinions (our own or others'), thereby giving DP members "something to work with." So, posts, everyone!

P.S. If you must see the scene, if even in German, key up to 11:00

Do you want to be virtually or actually empwered?

I'm not one to make top posts. Being dyslexic, I'm not worthy, yet, when I do make a top post, I make it for me.

Since I joined DP, long before I joined the GOP, most of my top posts reflect my sharing the experience, to empower others.

Many times folks respond with educated, intelligent posts, some based in experience. I've never felt virtually or actually empowered making a top post. Even my most notorious top post http://www.dailypaul.com/243617/why-i-will-vote-for-romney-i... was far from making me feel empowered.

Ironically perhaps, though I was never seeking power, enjoying my work as a grassroots/ useful idiot to astroturf, thinking I was actually accomplishing something, ot was my following RP into the GOP that has ACTUALLY been the most empowering activism I have experienced.

What was I so afraid of to not join the GOP in 07? Working to get an elected committee seat, learning RROO, learning about resolutions, acts, bills, lobbys, PACs, national, federal, states, counties laws upon laws campaign, finance, how the GOP is structured, controlled, who's who doing what and why.. on a much deeper level.. going to GOP events and meeting vetted GOP establishment and facing them, asking the hard questions, voting and debating local issues.. making an argument on the committee, being called out and calling each other out.. the bad thing about me as far as the GOP os concerned.. I'm "RP".

Going to the board meetings, being involved in the community to where your community KNOWS you, even when many disagree with RP and you, Neocon and Democrat/ liberal. This is what it feels like to be empowered, and the best thing is that RP is so RIGHT, it's an awesome position to be in because it's so easy to stand strong.. even when those RP members and myself, lose a vote, or have to suck up to a loyalty oath to stay in.. staying in is the game.

Playing to win is empowering because to play to win, you have to know how to win with what you have and your abilities. We've got RP, C4L and many folks who, like me (and many way better than me) LOVE this fight in the GOP (rather than just hating the GOP).

Anyone can make a top post, more power to them.

Excellent...

People shouldn't worry too much about downvotes. Patton said it pretty well - "If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking."

I did once

I posted one when shit got built up enough inside me. Got me like -20 on the vote thingy but whatever.

Things were crazy back then.

The site was burdened with political operatives.

There are still a lot of them around.

There job was to disrupt and discourage people like you.

You should have your say. "They" can have their agenda.

We Win and their contracts run out. See you around.

Free includes debt-free!

Warming up my "I told ya so" hole:

Let's roll out Operation BooBird? -- http://www.dailypaul.com/234593/lets-roll-out-operation-boobird

We should have booed Romney back to the stone age.

The GOP knew better than anybody Romney wasn't going to win, just like they know they won't win this "civil war" against Libertarians. They've already lost, and the Republican party is dead without us. That's what they want. They aren't Republicans any more than Barry Soetoro is a Democrat. They're Fascist puppets manufacturing consent. The GOP knows better than anybody that they don't represent Americans, justice, or the law.

Libertarians can't offer what the GOP will offer people; plunder, slaves, and dominion, but they DO fear what Libertarians CAN offer; Justice.

Even COMMENT on the threads is good

This site, when it is at its best, is a place for people to compare notes, exchange ideas, filter through the lies and find the truth... But it takes input from everyone to be at its best. Do NOT be afraid to be proven wrong, it is as valuable as being proven right. And do NOT let the trolls scare you away. If you can get the trolls to start downvoting your post, you KNOW you hit a nerve - pat yourself on the back and keep posting.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

There's plenty of white space left on my last 3-4 posts.

Doesn't seem to me that people want any new viewpoints. ...even ones that took 2-3 hours to compile.

I feel ya'!

I posted a link to the truth about Jonestown yesterday. It is an incredibly important post, in my opinion. Considering all the jokes about "drinking the koolaid" it seems important to know that NO ONE DRANK THE KOOLAID - they were all murdered. No one was interested... frustrating, but no reason to stop posting.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

Au contraire mon frere

I drank your Kool-aid. I ate that stuff up. I was freaking out that the government was obviously involved, again. Made me wonder even more about the latest citizen murders.

Thx.

Me too. Sometimes I am to enraged to comment.

Government is guilty until proven innocent.

Government's agenda is self-preservation at the people's expense.

Free includes debt-free!

My appologies

I saw it, clicked and moved on, filing the info in the ole gray matter. I do this to so many that I forget to vote or comment on them all.

I guess I shouldn't assume that no one has read mine either. Should I?

Hay Now !!

Romania

My Denist is a Romanian, hellava nice guy.

That's awesome...

...good pic.
