Conspiracy... to distract the Daily PAUL

I love the Daily PAUL, and it's a great source for debating and promoting liberty and learning about current events that relate to our freedoms. But lately, it seems, it has been overrun with conspiracy theories. It's getting annoying turning to the Daily PAUL and seeing the headlines dominated by Sandy Hook or Aurora or "definitive" proof that no planes flew into the WTC.

The Daily Paul was created to promote the views of free markets and personal freedom as espoused by Dr. Paul. This forum is to educate, enlighten, and to fight the real battles for liberty. All these conspiracy theories are a distraction and do, in fact, make us look "kooky".

My guess is that it's a small percentage of the Daily PAUL readership that really believes this stuff, but those that do are very active and vocal. It can become an obsession for people who want to "find the truth" and inform the rest of us. Some spend a great deal of time and energy trying to become internet super sleuths who will solve the crime of an elementary school shooting from 1000 miles away so it's only natural to want to share their findings.

So what can the silent majority on the Daily PAUL, who just want to read news and opinions that relate to promoting or defending liberty, do to reduce the fringe element of this site?

1. For the readers, Down-vote the conspiracy posts and conspiracy comments in regular posts. If the silent majority simply takes a few seconds to down-vote, these posts they will stay on the periphery.

2. Mods, can we add a Conspiracy Forum or at least make sure these posts are in "off-topic" or "weird stuff"? That way the people who want to discuss this stuff can go there and discuss it without cluttering up the front page.

To those on the Daily PAUL posting conspiracy threads:

Please understand that this is not personal and I'm not saying that every conspiracy theory has no merit or that the official story is always 100% accurate and doesn't require more investigation. I'm just saying there's a time and a place for things and by harping on conspiracies on the front page of the daily PAUL you can adversely affect the liberty movement. Please be considerate.

Don't get me wrong; I love a good conspiracy. They're interesting and mysterious. It's like solving a puzzle. I've spent way too much time watching videos analyzing plane crashes and building collapses for my own good. And I love Alex Jones and I think he has exposed a lot of corruption, hypocrisy and conspiracy; but that doesn't mean that every fantasy he has about secret members of the Illuminati plotting a multi-generational takeover of the world is entirely true.

Are there some shenanigans going on in the government and banking circles? Of course. But not every police officer, reporter and government official or even CIA agent is in on the coverup. And not every school shooting is a black-op to spur anti-gun sentiment or shut up a witness to a banking scandal. Sometimes crazy people just massacre people.

I know you mean well, but please be respectful to those of us who just want to fight for freedom and confine your theories to dedicated websites or perhaps a specific forum section on the DP.

The REAL conspiracy...

The REAL conspiracy is the official government "story" about how 19 muslim men from halfway around the world, armed only with just box cutters, managed to hijack and penetrate the most heavily guarded airspace in the world, not once, but four jets, and expertly fly them into buildings by men who failed their piloting exams...and how just two of those planes somehow managed to bring down in complete destruction two of the strongest and most massive office skyscrapers in the world...and then bring down a THIRD skyscraper that day...that was not even hit by a jet.

...and why the 99% of the steel from the three buildings was quickly removed from the crime scene and sent on barges to be (destruction of evidence) recycled in China.

...and why the Bush Administration resisted vehemently to even INVESTIGATE the worst mass murder event in American history for a FULL year...until families of the victims PRESSED and FORCED the Bush Administration to bring about the 9-11 Commission.

...and why the 9-11 Commission report completely DID NOT MENTION in its 800-page report, the destruction of WTC7 that day, a heavily fortified and guarded 57-story skyscraper that had tenants such as the CIA, the FBI, Secret Service, and many other government tenants that would seem to be significant and of interest...and a structure that was not hit by a jet...yet collapsed into its own footprint.

...and why the 10,000 page NIST report in 2008 $22,000,000 of taxpayer money later...completely IGNORED the prolific NYC firefighter testimony of seeing molten metal in the basements of all three of the buildings before their collapses...as well as significant videographic and photographic evidence of the same in the rubble piles...

Strange.

The even BIGGER conspiracy

Is how the government tangled the story so much people do not even know what to ask so the majority of the population ignores and accepts.

At least, in my head.... all these conspiracies are important, but I think the biggest issue here is that the public has been trained to not even ask questions.

Disinfo Forums...like this one...to DISTRACT the Daily Paul

You are using faulty logic. No one has EVER said that every CIA person, etc, is in on a conspiracy.

That's like saying that all Arabs are terrorists. Its nonsense.

Most likely, conspiracies are usually run by a few, not the many, as in intelligence circles, if you don't have a "need to know" then you don't know about it.

If You Don't Like The Posts

then don't read them. But DON'T try to tell the rest of us what we can or can't read or post here. Funny that people here yell about the first amendment and then try to be the censor police. Hypocritical if you ask me. As for making Ron Paul supporters look like kooks, I SAW Ron himself stand on stage at a debate and say that we should worry that tptb would build border fences to keep us IN not illegals OUT. Does that make HIM a conspiracy theorist?

skippy

"[Is there] an international conspiracy to overthrow our government?" Paul said in 2003, repeating the question of an audience member at his Austin speech. "The answer is 'Yes'. I think there are 25,000 individuals that have used offices of powers, and they are in our Universities and they are in our Congresses, and they believe in One World Government. And if you believe in One World Government, then you are talking about undermining National Sovereignty and you are talking about setting up something that you could well call a dictatorship - and those plans are there!" Ron Paul

behind this admission...i a whole world of uncomfortable truths. you are obviously not interested in investigating those truths...but pipe down with your critique of those who do. you are more dangerous in your views than any of those you look to put in a box.

Web of Control and Power

One only need know of the Web of Control and Power that already exists in this country and is quickly expanding, to fear what the Web of Control and Power has done and will continue to do. We barely scratch the surface of what has been hidden and covered up, and yet, we must at least try to question and seek the truth to stay free of the Web!

There is nothing wrong w

There is nothing wrong w conspiracy theory that is informed by facts. However, most here are not posting conspiracy theory. They are simply asking questions the media won't! Stop misusing the phrase "conspiracy theory"! The wrong use of that phrase has become a tactic to marginalize dissent and ridicule those who refuse to trust authority.

So?

There's a conspiracy to make this site out as weird? Oh, noez! I really didn't know that.

HOW DO YOU THINK RON PAUL

Knows about the Federal Reserve, the TSA, the secret societies, and the war profiteers etc?

He reads a ton of conspiracy theory, but his genius is that he never states that he does.

And, just about anything that is not news by the mainstream media is considered "conspiracy" this day and age.

Most alternative conspiracy news is actually more factual than the propaganda they sell to the zombie masses so lets keep up the good work.

That's the problem with lies....

I hear you. There is a little too much paranoia at times. And part of that is due to prior instances of being lied to.

Once you realize the government, the media, and the political leaders have all lied to you, we must guard against the tendency to start assuming that if these folks have something to say it must be a lie.

That's just as mindless as assuming everything the media says is true.

The remedy is to use your own mind to analyze the evidence that exists to form a logical conclusion.

I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. ~ Thomas Jefferson

We called it "waking up."

Ron Paul was a huge part of it, but not all of it. Each of us is a piece to the puzzle, and each of us has our own part to play, our own reasons for what we do.
It took a lot for me to get my brain around 9-11. One of the reasons it was worth facing up to it was so that the next time, they would not fool me again.
I seek the truth, I come here with questions because here is where I know I can get the best feedback and input. If you don't like a post, don't read it.

Negative 26 downvotes

Negative 26 downvotes(as of this post) means the democratic process is working on this site and obviously censorship in any form is overwhelmingly NOT welcomed on this site.

Always question everything because, in the end, that is all we can do.

Tools of war are not always obvious. The worst weapon is an idea planted in the mind of man. Prejudices can kill, suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has an everlasting fallout all of its own.

Thank Descartes

350 years later we are still struggling with the truth that everything must be questioned. The hierarchy thrives on the principle of not questioning authority. We were suppose to grow out of (liberate ourselves from the Great Chain of Being) the abuse of the Old Regime after Newton destroyed Aristotle’s myth of hierarchy as the natural order of the universe. Yet, here we are, still subjects (serfs) to the Old Regime that lies and abuses the world because people still are unable to understand the truth of the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution.

This is What Fighting for Liberty Looks Like

Wake up, and get over it! The conspiracy concept is a means to separate people who understand how the world works from those who still believe in fairytales and a benevolent government. It is the heart and soul of what this movement is about. Yet many here are not able to accept the truth, and lobby for others to stop thinking for themselves. The idea that people have a problem with controversial questioning means that people here are not ready to accept the whole truth. Which is understandable, since we have been brainwashed from childhood on. This site has been about challenging the brainwashing to begin with. Yet, it is still difficult for a great number of people to accept that the nature of government is evil to begin with. It was Madison’s observation in Federalist 45 that we need government to protect us from bad people, but we must understand that bad people also exist in government, always. And, the balance of such a dilemma requires a strong constitution and a vigilant masses that enforces such. The founders understood that it is an enormous challenge to control government power and abuse. Apparently, we have failed miserably to heed the wisdom, and protect ourselves, as evidenced in the conspiracies that routinely succeed. Conspiracies are how every single bit of liberty and fairness has been taken away from us. If we don’t even recognize the extent of fraud, deception, and manipulation of the principles that are supposedly behind the purpose of our nation, and this site, then we are worthlessly pretending to be change for the better charlatans that are aiding the massive corruption by our government, and of no use whatsoever in the cause of justice. I for one say that the people who complain about the efforts of members here to question and investigate the government and these absurdly obvious false flags that control all our lives for the benefit of monied interests, should be considered as opposed to the Ron Paul movement, and not accepted as a legitimate voice until they grow up and support the fundamental principle behind this movement, which is that government is corrupt and the masses need to stand up to such immoral corruption. That’s how we win. Not by being gullible servants to the corruption. Wake up scared, sheepish DPers. This is what fighting for liberty looks like.

Look at it this way...

I think we can all agree that 95% of the mainstream media in this country is a complete farce. If that wasn't the case, there'd be little need for people to dig for the truth.

The ones spending hours on end researching this stuff just might make pretty good journalists someday.

?

"But not every police officer, reporter and government official or even CIA agent is in on the coverup. And not every school shooting is a black-op to spur anti-gun sentiment or shut up a witness to a banking scandal."

When was this ever implied?

One Solution

They could just create a conspiracy forum and have it not come up in the top 10 on the DP list or the front page... most of these conspiracies have like absolutely nothing to do with RON PAUL.

or you could stand up for their right to their opinon

without having to hold that opinion yourself. Instead of trying to eradicate a huge portion of people who hold many of the same beliefs you do, or running them out of a forum which you do not run.One of the best parts of this site are the wide variety of people that are brought together. Don't be so sure you know better than everyone else...if you challenge yourself you could learn something. Thats why I love the Daily Paul, I certainly dont know it all. Your feelings of embarrasment might just be a problem YOU HAVE, not others. Try some self-reflection.

I dont believe everything I read about conspiracies, but I am HAPPY AND PROUD to stand with others who's objective is to seek truth. If they say something "conspiracy" related, shrug and say, "I Love America where we may all speak our minds no matter how controversial."
I believe it was Ron Paul who said, "The First Amendment is not to protect talk about the weather, it is meant to protect controversial speech"....well, he said something to that effect.

Put Alternative Views in a "Kooky Bin"? MSM already does that.

Listen, dude - I see that you have your own website and your own agenda - to promote yourself. But just because YOU narrow your focus to strictly economic & social issues, does not discredit others who believe - and logically so - that you can't discuss economic freedoms as separate from civil freedoms. The 2 go hand in hand.

THAT is the problem with your entire website.

You can't fix any economic injustices without addressing the CAUSE of economic injustice: Corruption.

9-11 is when our economic troubles got ramped into high gear - you want to ignore that the official story is obviously a LIE ?

Fake Terrorists on Planes took away civil and economic liberties - you want to ignore those facts?

Fake shootings are set to be the basis for the removal of MORE FREEDOMS - you want to turn a blind eye?

This is why your website will struggle - your ignorance of facts on major issues that DIRECTLY IMPACT the economic field hinders your ability to give a full-view analysis of the situation.

Open your eyes.
And don't try to separate those who are WILLING to dissect the "official stories" into some crackpot bin. That's how you enable the secrecy, and enable the corruption.

Get down-voted.

There are almost as many of these OPs

overrunning DP.

Who cares?

There have been groups that like to talk about things like conspiracies, 9/11 truth, zero point energy, tesla, etc. countered by groups who like to oppose all such talk since the earliest days of Daily Paul. Why is this suddenly an issue?

There's no big election going on so people are just bored and talking about other stuff.

Daily Paul is pretty much unique among political websites in that Daily Paul allows a wide range of opinions and topics without being banned. Guests and visitors see a community that tolerates alternate opinions from sub-groups. *shrugs*

Nothing to see here. Move along. The only distraction here is the "conspiracy against conspiracy talk"... :)

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Hear! Hear!

We have to keep the big brother agents from turning people off by posting the nuttiest conspiracies...

Hard to deny there are various groups

A lot of fringe groups jump on the bandwagon as soon as you start questioning government involvement. RP got that with the white power and other groups. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. There are a lot of single-issue posters here.

And forums like this attract people who are OCD. How else can a person totally immerse themselves day and night with a subject other than on a forum? It's like that all over the internet, no matter what the subject of the forum is. You get a lot of regular people, but there can be as few as llike three OCDs who dominate the volume and drown out the voices of thousands of others.

I believe in some unusual things too, but I have the sense not to post them. The younger generation has been taught to speak or write every little thing that pops into their head like it's a pronouncement from God. I don't know, maybe they're just imitating what they see or they think they have to jump to conclusions to feel safer?

Yep. I used to be a premium suscriber and use my real name.

I changed after weeks of MK-Ultra conspiracy theorizing after the Aurora shootings so my name wasn't associated with it.

I still like this site and still love Ron Paul, but it has gotten beyond ridiculous.

I did the same, Delysid

Canceled my subscription 2 days ago. I can't, in good conscience, monetarily support a site that is allowing a bunch of unsubstantiated stories dominate it. It's starting to feel like the liberty version of TMZ in here. It's hard to find people here willing to fix problems; instead they are chasing the big thing that will prove to the world that our government is involved with this stuff.

Guess what...if that info got out, how many people would believe it? Or they would just find a scapegoat. It won't change anything. We can change things by running for office or setting a good example of fiscal responsibility, non-aggression, etc.

The only conspiracy that matters is that the FED/bankers, lobbyists and military industrial complex are gaming the system and are harming the healthy evolution of our society, not to mention others across the globe.

But I don't want to preach to those here who are following this path. Exposing the truth is a good thing and I wish you all the best of luck. There is no right way, but this way is not for me.

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.

deacon's picture

yeah right

i cancelled my subscription (translation ..my voice is more important
the only conspiracies that matter are the ones that i deem fit
"Exposing the truth is a good thing and I wish you all the best of luck"..unless i don't agree with it,after all i paid money,so i am more important than truth

"There is no right way, but this way is not for me.(i paid money
so my voice is more important)(i should get my way)
and i will try to use this to my advantage
i paid so i can say what i want, and like a baby i will hold my breath until i get my way
lets see..did i miss something/anything?

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

Those are unfair assumptions

I started subscribing to the site because it was inspiring and I learned so much about Ron Paul and liberty from the people here. But the fading and removing of Dr. Paul's picture and the total shift away from anything related to Ron Paul is just too much for me. My reasons for subscribing no longer exist, and the conversation here is dominated by the keyboard warriors of the fringe. The site owner and mods aren't going to change that over my $20 a month subscription and I wouldn't expect them to.

Well, the fringe can have this site. Enjoy it; use it. Maybe you'll uncover some great conspiracy and it will be grand. I don't feel a desire to directly support it monetarily like I did the promotion of Ron Paul and his ideals/thoughts. I think that's fair. And that's all there is to it.

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.
