Carrier pigeons for defense and resistance to tyranny

In the same way that the backyard chicken renaissance is helping to create a sense of food security and independence for many people, I believe that the carrier pigeon can do the same for secure communications within the Liberty movement. If enough people embrace this centuries old technology of moving small items and information, small local networks can begin to form and eventually grow into larger, more regional or even national networks.

A combination of high tech/low tech could prove formidable to any entity intent on eavesdropping, portions of critical messages or encryption keys could ride on USB thumb drives attached to the legs of the birds for example.

If such an idea were to catch on, the humble pigeon which is really just a large dove (symbol of peace) would find a place in the unfolding story of our second struggle for Independence and Liberty.
