Michael Savage's challenge to candidates.

0 votes

In my opinion, Michael Savage has very similar views to Glenn Beck.

Michael Savage has repeatedly said on his show that not a SINGLE candidate has appeared on his show yet he's got a massive audience and many of them could be attracted to Ron's message. He wants them to appear.

Michael is somewhat pro-war/anti-terrorist. However, there is NO doubt that this would be a good show for Ron to express his views on.

He claims a listenership of around 10 million. Wow. C'mon, let's email the campaign. Savage already said he wants the candidates on.

Savage is a neo-con. plain

Savage is a neo-con. plain and simple.

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

Savage can be outrageous and

Savage can be outrageous and entertaining... he also sounds mentally unstable or he's a genius at creating a fictional "nutcase truthteller" character in the way Robin Williams might... except he stays in character... was listening to him, again, on WOR.... thought, man, this dude needs electroshock or he should be in a David Lynch movie or something... his reasoning powers... well, let's just say I wouldn't want him on the National Security Council...

the real scoop on Savage and RP

Savage is somewhat of a brilliant, yet double-minded man on many fronts--he is working through his own belief system, as he goes.

Savage trashes RP verbally, just like MSM.

Savage's real name is Michael Weiner. He is Jewish and supports Israel--right or wrong.

Which is wrong.

Therefore, Savage almost despises RP on this basis ---I've heard his rants.

Considering Savage's bias--I seriously doubt if he would EVER even invite RP to come on his show. If he did, Savage would surely learn a thing or two--if his ego would allow learning, that is.

Tell Savage to Call the Campaign

As far as I know Savage hasn't called any of the candidates to invite them on his show. Perhaps he wants them to come groveling to him. Challenging them over the airwaves isn't the same thing. It's good for ratings though. If Ron Paul were to accept such an invitation though, I would advise him to do any interview with Savage in person and in the studio with him where he would more likely be treated in a respectful manner. Savage's invective laden rhetoric and ad hominem attacks against ideological opponents makes him less credible as a prospective interviewer or host for a substantive discussion on important issues. His view on the war on terror is one dimensional and emotionally charged. There is no way Dr Paul will persuade him on a non military approach to dealing with islamofascism and terrorism. That our financial ruin is a natural consequence of maintaining our current policies does not seem to have any impact with Savage.

Would be good, but Savage is having trouble letting go of

the War. He is very similar to Glen Beck, only more respected.

Savage's currently listed #3 talk show

Talkers Magazine rates talk shows nation-wide, ranking the top 100, and giving mention to 150 others. Like him or not, Savage ranks #3, and Becks' radio show is #10. http://www.talkers.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&tas... With the impact of the MLK-Day fund raiser, and Nevadas' anticipated win, timing would be great to offer both of them access to interview Dr. Paul.

Savage has degrees in natural approaches to health and has written books on them. Dr. Pauls' medical background and support of Health Freedom legislation ought to find Savages' approval. I don't know how open he might be exploring the differences between non-intervention and isolation policies, but I'm sure Ron could hold his own with Savage if it came to sparing there.

News of Ron Pauls' office returning money to the treasury, as he always has, should give him additional clout with Savage, as someone who takes stewardship of the peoples money seriously. Did anyone notice how every time Paul dealt with expansionist policy issues during the last debate, he always conclude with phases like, "besides we're broke", "we can't afford it", "we don't have the money", " the housing sector is already in a depression"? Savage broadcasts out of SF, Kalifornia, so he knows first-hand the economic impact of these policies locally and nationally.

Beck had an alarming interview with David Walker, Comptroller General of the Government Accounting Office (GAO), on his TV show last week. Near the seven minute mark, Beck favorable mentioned Ron Paul as the only one addressing this economic crisis. http://www.youtube.com?v=1-16u9x3tfE&eurl For all the reasons mentioned above, this would make timing a radio interview with Ron Paul about as good as it gets.

For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst and provide for it. - Patrick Henry

I think Ron should talk with him about domestic issues

Ron can agree with him to talk about domestic issues and then they could have a great show. Besides, the best way to convince pro-war people to vote for RP is to talk about domestic issues first.

By the way, the San Francisco Bay Guardian just endorsed Ron Paul for the Republican readers:

They also say "of course he should never be president" because they are a very liberal paper.

I like Savage...

as well, have listened to him for over two years now and find him passionate and entertaining. He is indeed, in lockstep with the other talkingheads in railing against "the Islamic threat", America's latest boogyman. Among all of the talkingheads, he seems more credible in his beliefs, but then, at one time I was fooled into thinking Rush Limbaugh was a true patriot as well. I do know for sure that we have a staunch ally in Alex Jones.

RP and the Savage Nation

I agree an appearance on Michael Savage would be great. I think RP would fare much better than any other candidate. Savage is really a NEOCON. Savage claims to be a big supporter of the constitution like Hannity. I like Savage for the most part, except Savage is OK WITH UNDECLARED WARS. This is the PROBLEM TODAY WITH MOST CONSERVATIVES. THEY ARE OK WITH UNDECLARED WARS.
If RP could address this more effectively he would win over large numbers of conservatives. Our local talk show host (Lynn Woolley at KTEM, Temple, TX) simply believes RP has no foreign policy. And that seems to be the most important issue to many conservatives today. Woolley agrees with about 95% of RP, but will not vote for him because of 'weak' foreign policy.
Many people think RP would be very WEAK on foreign policy and RP has not really addressed this issue very well. Most of us on DP realize RP would be a great Commander in Chief because RP would follow the Constitution and NOT go to war without first a Declaration from Congress. I think RP REALLY NEEDS TO EXPLAIN FULLY THIS POINT. RP needs to make people understand that an enemy nation should really fear a declaration of war while RP is President. Under a Declaration of War, RP would proceed to utterly destroy an enemy and as commander in chief would accept NOTHING but UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!
I have not heard this explained very often as RP is the candidate of PEACE, but he still needs to explain this.

Steven Orrange

I like him except when he

I like him except when he talks about "Islamo-fascists" ... If RP could stay away from that topic and focus on other topics first, it'd be a good interview.

Havent listened to Savage for years

but last I remember he was really into this "nation, borders , culture " thing- which needs to be approached delicately- when taken out of context it could be a tinderbox for the anti- Savage crowd. Id almost be happier to see him on some less fringe type shows where he can show his kitchen skills and make some funnies- show a soft humorous family man side untill he gains a more solid footing. Ellen for example.

I love Savage

but he will not let Ron off the hook from discussing terrorism/Islamofascism.

I know he won't, but he

I know he won't, but he needs to do the interview like on Glenn Beck, gain his favor first by agreeing with 90% of his views, and then talking about the disagreement last. Make him like you a lot before you start disagreeing with him. That's a condition I would make for the interview, but if he doesn't stick to it, you'll just have to do your best.
