Doctor Says I Have Tumor- Chemo Only Answer (final update)

Hello Friends,

I am writing a final update because I know that Dean would want me to. You were all kind enough to offer suggestions and prayers in September and we meant to respond with thanks, but Dean had gotten worse and voluntarily went to the hospital a few days later. He was diagnosed with severe hypercalcemia, which is a complication of the late stages of cancer. He was treated and released when his blood calcium levels were brought back to normal. He was given hospice care at that point. In a week the levels went back up again and he was readmitted ten days later. This time the levels went down, but not to normal. His health continued to deteriorate and he passed on October 19.

By the time Dean was diagnosed in June, it was already way too late for minerals, diet, alternative medicine, or even the oil he had such faith in. His blood calcium levels were already rising in July. That was the reason he was vomiting, losing his appetite and energy. We thought the vomiting was a reaction to the oil, but he was in fact dying.

I cry daily and am so angry. The cancer didn’t suddenly appear in June when Dean was diagnosed. He’d been going to follow-up visits to his head and neck oncology surgeon, who happens to be the chief surgeon of a prestigious teaching hospital in NYC. He’d had a pinhole which discharged for more than six months before it opened up into a hole, and his doctors just said it was from the side effects of radiation and to cover it with gauze. We trusted them. And though we had no idea that this pinhole could suddenly open up, rapidly enlarge, that the arteries inside the hole could begin to deteriorate and bleed so that he’d need a blood transfusion, or that a huge mass of a tumor could develop around it; I’m sure that this world renowned surgeon who’s written countless books and articles, and has an entourage of interns following him all day, had some idea months before it happened.

The head and neck surgeon had told Dean two years before that if the cancer came back, he wouldn’t be able to help him. It can’t be proven, but I believe that since there was nothing he could do, he didn’t feel he needed to bother to tell us of the possibility or send Dean for tests to see if the cancer had spread. The surgeon may not have been able to help Dean and Dean certainly couldn’t have any more radiation, but maybe alternative medicine or the oil could have helped him if started six months earlier, before he was in the end stages of cancer. He didn’t give us a chance!

I’m sorry to to share such a horrible event. I’m still debating as to whether or not to post this.......I believe Dean would want you to know. He loved this site and valued everything that was shared and posted here. Peace to all of you. I hope the new year finds you all healthy and happy.

Sincerely, Susan

I'm sorry for your loss. I

I'm sorry for your loss. I also lost a family member, my mother in law, to cancer this past fall. It was a re-occurrence from previous breast cancer, in the liver. The only thing that irks one is that six months or more prior, she had symptoms of itching among others and her doctor just recommending upping her prozac dose, when it wasn't related to any of her symptoms except perhaps feeling down. She asked them to do tests to check for cancer and they said it was a waste to do them without reason. I have very little respect for the practices of the medical profession for treating chronic disease.

I'm so sorry for your loss

as well. Too many people have been lost to this disease and so many young ones too. Dean was 53, not the youngest by any means, but devastating still. I've lost respect as well. I would never make another donation to cancer research. It's all a farce when it comes to chronic disease. It has more to do with politics than curing people.

Susan thankyou so much for posting!

Dean always had a great sense of humor and never seemed to be to concerned with himself or his dire predicament. He will be missed. I always considered Punkskaguy a good friend and ally.He will not be forgotten.

Thank you.

He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was truly a trooper. He kept the nurses laughing and was so nice to them to the end. He was appreciative and never complained once. He was more concerned about my worrying than what he was going through.

All cancers are about PH level.

Keep the body at 7.4 PH and you will be disease free. All cancer patients have an extremely low (acidic) PH level. Baking soda a few times a day mixed in water is very helpful in combating all kinds of diseases... including cancer.

Another thing that is good for cancer is hemp oil. Both of these products help to regulate the ph level of your body.

Do a search on "baking soda maple syrup cancer" a lot of good information will be found there. The doctor will not help you... cancer is a massive money fleecing industry and the doctors are all in on it whether they know it or not.

We were doing

exactly that. As soon as he was diagnosed with the reoccurrence, I learned about the baking soda and maple syrup and started making it for him. We had nothing to lose. Dean's doctor said there was nothing more he could do and suggested trying chemo because "it MAY give him some extra milage". He said this after having said ten days earlier that if he had cancer, he couldn't have surgery, he'd already had too much radiation and chemo probably wouldn't help him. We also tried the oil, but he was already in the late stages when he was diagnosed and it was too late for him. I agree. There is no money to be made in a cure for cancer especially when it could be hemp or even baking soda.

Research, please

Please post links to peer-reviewed research to support this claim. There is a lot of misinformation about cancer treatments. Meanwhile, people risk disease progressing when they postpone proven treatments while pursuing alternative treatments that may not work.

Thank you.

what peers are going to risk

what peers are going to risk their career by saying an illegal drug cures cancer?

The problem with peer reviewed research

The problem with peer reviewed research boils down to: who are the peers that are doing the reviewing? Because if they're all part of the same "allopathic and nothing else!" crowd, you can bet the house that only allopathic treatments will get a positive review. The Flexner Report started this ball rolling way back when.

It would be a blank page

using chocolate milks criteria:

"Please post links to peer-reviewed research"

"proven treatments"

ozone therapy

Find a doctor near you, call them and ask them questions.

Thank you

I'll make the same request here. Please post links to peer-reviewed research to support this claim. There is a lot of misinformation about cancer treatments. Meanwhile, people risk disease progressing when they postpone proven treatments while pursuing alternative treatments that may not work.

Thank you.

Please provide double blind

Please provide double blind placebo studies that show any of the conventional cancer treatments -chemo, radiation - work.

My condolences

I'm very sorry to learn about your loss as well as a loss for the liberty movement.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Susan.

A little word of comfort: please don't worry yourself on the what-if's and maybe's. Second-guessing the decisions you made will not bring peace. There is no promise that doing things differently would have given Dean one extra minute or one less measure of pain. You both made the best decisions you did with the information you had. Dean's time on this earth had reached its end. Cherish the good times you had together. I will pray that God will bring peace and comfort to your heart during this time of sorrow. Peace be with you.

I know you are right.

It'll take some time, but I know I'll get there. Thank you.

I'm so sad to learn of this,

I'm so sad to learn of this, but I am glad you posted and will continue to check in here. Thank you for sharing the details. I completely agree with your suspicions and skepticism about the way things played out with his medical people. What you describe MUST be rampant with oncology because the efficacy rate of chemo and radiation is so incredibly low...how can any oncologist recommend any of these treatments when they already know that only 5% live more than 5 years? In their world and viewpoint it is enough to prolong life by a couple years, a few months, or even mere weeks....yes, they will put patients through painful and debilitating treatments to extend life for only a short time. If they do otherwise they are sabotaging their profession. By the time they have gotten to where they are they are thoroughly indoctrinated with the chemo koolaide. The other doctors just take it for granted that these interventions are worthwhile.

My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer about a year ago. They found a polyp about 2mm during a colonoscopy. They scheduled him immediately for colon resection. I advised him not to get the surgery for several reasons. First of all, they could not provide any data/statistics on the survival rate for patients w/ his condition who opted to do nothing or use an alternative treatment. They could only cite statistics among those who got the treatment...so how can you compare? Secondly, a resection is pretty radical and if for some reason my dad ended up with a colostomy...I think that would be the end of him anyway...because I don't think he would cope well with that. This whole time the medical people have acted with such authority, and the whole thing has been treated as a very regimented program...and they were quite shocked to see my dad opt out. He seems to be doing really well now and is still showing no signs of illness. He's been doing alternative treatments and feels that he may have reversed things, but has no way of knowing as they won't give him another colonoscopy.

I don't think many people question the oncologists and cancer industry when they are faced with this illness because they trust these 'respected' professionals to know what they are doing and have been having success or these 'experts' wouldn't be where they are. To me it is smoke and mirrors...maybe the experts are where they are because they went along with the program despite poor recovery statistics. To me that makes them a sanitized form of Auschwitz. It is a disgrace that for all the billions of dollars and all the stupid pink ribbons, they have made absolutely no progress against cancer after all these years. Yet, they are so unwilling to examine or implement other promising alternatives. It is really despicable and I am so sorry your family went through such a tragedy. There just has to be a better way.

Best of luck to your dad.

Dean opted against chemo twice because the statistics were not favorable. I wish he hadn't done the radiation either, but who knows, maybe he wouldn't have made it to 53 without it......or maybe without it, he would have been strong enough to fight the cancer using alternative methods?????? I do know that the radiation, which he had twice, resulted in the loss of his jaw. We were lead to believe that without it, the cancer would spread. Well, it did anyway. And as a result, his jaw became so brittle that it fractured and he had to have the left side of his jaw removed. What teeth he had left, didn't align and were filled with holes anyway. Needless to say, his diet was limited. I'd make soups, mostly cancer fighting vegetables, and put them through the blender. He'd have fruit smoothies and juices, but he lost weight and was weakened. As the weight came off, he'd have ice cream shakes to put it back on, ignorant of the fact that the sugar is not good for cancer. Maybe all the radiation caused the cancer to spread. It IS a disgrace. All the money and for all those years and still nothing......meanwhile look at the advances we've made in technology.
Lots of health and happiness to you and your family...esp. Dad!
