Please stop associating Ron Paul with conspiracy theories

EDIT: I take it back, Ron Paul himself has associated himself with conspiracies and that makes this thread bogus. While I still believe it scares off new people, I also know that I had to read a lot of these conspiracies more than once for it to sink in. I denied them to myself, but you can't unread or unlearn it. I just downvoted my own thread, from the first comment you guys have changed my attitude and I commend you for it. The original post is still below, thank you.

No offense to truthers, I appreciate what you do and I thank you for never shrinking from controversy. However, I'm asking you to tone it down and here is why.

I found this site through google searches on Ron Paul and the like when I was just getting into this thing about a year or so ago. It seems like all roads lead to the Daily P.Au.L. through internet searches. This is important because many people just getting interested in Ron Paul come to this site. These new people are likely to be skeptical of conspiracy theories and get offended when they read things like "9/11 was an inside job, Bin Laden didn't die in 2010, Sandy Hook didn't happen"...etc.

The problem is that they then discredit Ron Paul and our movement and never come back. You're turning the newly awakened back into sheep. I'm not asking you to stop educating us with the truth, I'm just asking that I not have to read this stuff on the front page of a site associated with the name Paul. Take it somewhere else, put it in the off topic or weird stuff forums, do anything but associate it with the good Doctor. Please.

There is a reason that Ron Paul hasn't publicly come out and endorsed conspiracy theories. It's hard enough to bring people over from the dark side as it is. The conspiracy threads are making it harder.

EDIT: I lied, Ron Paul had endorsed conspiracies. You guys are good, I'm not sure where I stand on this right now. http://youtu.be/2dECSYm5bSM

The proper way to handle conspiracy theories on this website..

Just as a preface:

If it weren't for Ron Paul, I wouldn't know about certain things that would be considered conspiracy theories to the casual observer, but are in fact full blown conspiracy facts. Some people would consider the fact that the Federal Reserve is a private entity who is in charge of our money supply and is responsible for the devaluation of the dollar and the theft of the nation's wealth a conspiracy theory, when is it is in fact true. The fact that the CIA is responsible for running guns and smuggling drugs could also be considered a conspiracy theory even though it is fact.

I have no problem with people on this website questioning the government or questioning any type of conspiracy theory that my come across their desk, but there are responsible, tactful ways to handle such theories.

If there is concrete, easily verifiable evidence of such conspiracies, say what you want to... call a spade a spade. For example, the CIA has been caught multiple times dealing drugs and running guns. Google Iran Contra affair.

If all you have is hearsay evidence or circumstantial evidence but still want to question the official government story, don't use outlandish titles to get your point across. This just makes you look like a fear monger and a sensationalist. For example, on the Sandy Hook shooting, until a conspiracy has been proven I would avoid using outlandish titled such as, "Sandy Hook shooting never happened...actors used to scare the public into giving up their guns!" It would be much better to choose a title such as, "News video from Sandy Hook incident looks fishy ...is this guy an actor?" ... or something to that effect.

Once again, I think it's completely healthy and necessary for us to question the government official story ...especially on this website... but to use outlandish and sensational titles just to get people to click on your post only makes us look like the crazy ,radical, anti government conspiracy theorist that they claim we all are.

Some conspiracy theories are valid, some not. But the issue is larger. GOP = DEM, both support corporatism.

The loons from National Socialism, Pacifists, Blue Republicans, Pupulists and muslim students do not have their political home. If "Occupy Wall Street" movement or "Anonymous" could get off the ground, some would at least be able to find a new place. Otherwise, they are all stuck here - they use RP poblicity as a platform to spread their anxiety. Many secretly voted for Obama. (Actually, those folks do not identify themsleves other than Libertarians, but their mindset and focus on sideline issues tell us otherwise.)

It is partially RP fault too. Should he offer trade union members the same perks he had offered millitary (to take care of their stress syndrome), they too would be here today competing with Blue Republicans for equal justice.

Just FYI

This is now the Daily Peace Gold & Love (P au L)

Michael has mentioned this several times...

Less inflammatory titles

and calls for information could bring out the more investigative types and bring some real information. :)
The MSM is a major fail on that front.

Just open the box and see

Please do not confuse conspiracy theory

with conspiracy fact.
Is it really that hard to believe that certain people will do anything to get what they want? History is neck deep with the corpses of those who have gotten in the way of powerful men and women. Those corpses are not theories...they are facts.

Good point

Watergate was a conspiracy theory once, so was the gulf of Tonkin. Now straight up facts.

The individual who refuses to defend his rights when called by his Government, deserves to be a slave, and must be punished as an enemy of his country and friend to her foe. - Andrew Jackson

I Heard Ron Paul

stand on stage with all those bozos who were pretending to run for president and say that we should worry about them building fences on the borders to keep us in NOT to keep illegals out. How about THAT? Do you call THAT being a "conspiracy theorist"?

skippy

*sardonically LOL*

This is why Dr. Paul was allowed to remain in office. He cautiously and diplomatically told those of *us* who listened to him that there were 'shadow' governments; he assiduously avoided the use of the word 'conspiracy'--

except for once, when he talked about what it meant--

and diffused a lot of tension from the globalists and others who were watching--

Sometimes people aren't wise in what they say, I agree--

Sometimes people 'blurt' things out and don't help--

but the fact is that Dr. Paul knew about the heaviest of the conspiracies and devoted his life to fighting them--

quietly, diplomatically--

wisely.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

The Question is ...

... what is THIS website about?

It is called the Daily Paul. Does that mean it is about ONLY Ron Paul?

If it is, then it is just a cult of personality, and nothing of substance will ever happen, unless Ron Paul himself does it.

But if this website is about IDEAS that lead one to support Ron Paul, then that is a different matter.

By definition, any person who supports Ron Paul in any way is a person who does not necessarily accept the mainstream view of something.

Mainstreamers take what they are told at face value and do not question. (This includes most "journalists.") Other people, however, do question.

And this is how so-called "conspiracy theories" are born. Some people -- and ONLY some people -- question what the Mainstreamers say.

We all know that conspiracies exist. If any person believes conspiracies really never happen, then such a person should be advocating for eliminating laws about Conspiracy to Commit Murder, RICO statutes, etc. Such a person should also be advocating for eliminating insider trading rules for Wall Street, and they should accept that OPEC and oil companies never try to fix prices.

Conspiracies exist because humans often try to gain an advantage through immoral means. Anyone who disagrees with that is a fool.

Now, that does not mean that EVERY theory that questions the Mainsteamers is true. Many are insane. But that does not mean that ALL such theories are false.

If a website such as the Daily Paul does not bring together people who question the Mainstreamers, then what is its purpose? To ONLY advocate for Ron Paul? Might as well be a cult, then.

Ultimately, it is up to the website's owner to make that call.

Everyone else can go pound sand.

P.S. Did the GOP insiders and the media ...

... engage in a conspiracy to prohibit Ron Paul from receiving a nomination at the Tampa Convention in 2012?

Should anyone on this website talk about it?

Sould people be informed about such things happening or should everyone act like a good little sheep?

Baaaaaaaaaaa.

You bet your @$$ they did

And Heck yes we should talk about it.

Not all "conspiracy theories"

Not all "conspiracy theories" are equal. Do we have proof the CIA is involved and has been involved in the "illegal drug" trade? Yes, absolutely. Do we have proof that aliens were involved in 9/11? Of course not.

IMO that was not a lie

You didn't know, so it was not a lie, but a wrong assumption. A lie is when you purposely mislead and that was not your intent (I assume, and hope correctly).

Personally, I believe conspiracy theory is a BIG part of the Liberty Movement, which the rEVOltuion is part. The rEVOLution is in the GOP, where I find, many of us have absorbed conspiracy theory, but being on the front line in the GOP, have no time or space to debate. So we debate it here.

I also find, many people do not want to wake up. They just want to live their lives and hope for the best. Blaming conspiracy posts makes them feel they can "save face" for not actually being interested in DP.I alos think the freedom to post ideas about conspiracy theory attracts people seeking "Truth" outside Church.

I think of DP like a candy store.. where not everyone likes black licorice (AKA conspiracy theory), but the people who do, really really like black licorice.. there's plenty of other candy if black licorice is not to one's taste.

RON PAUL is calling for a new INDEPENDENT investigation...

...of the events of 9-11.

As are millions....MILLIONS of other people around the world...including the former head prosecutor of Italy as well as many people of influence such architects, engineers, physicists, firefighters, law enforcement, scholars, attorneys, pilot, veterans, intelligence specialists, demolitions experts, etc.

Far from worrying that we will "scare people off"...we have a MORAL OBLIGATION to get to the truth...no matter how terrifying that truth is...and wherever that truth may lead us.

Here is the first documentary (it only takes 15 minutes to watch)...that first opened my eyes a few months ago. And yes, I saw if here first on the Daily Paul...its about that strange, strange anomaly called World Trade Center 7.

I know man

I left the original post but I downvoted it. Check out my new thread. You guys are good. Thank you for sharing.

I've seen a video where an architect breaks down the collapse of WTC7. The thing that really opened my eyes on 9/11 was seeing the cylinders on the bottoms of the planes. Those don't go on commercial planes and airport security surely wouldn't allow a plane to take off with a foreign object on it.

I am right there with ya. Took me eleven years.

Yeah those cylinders are known detonation devices to destroy drones so the "enemy" can't salvage the pieces.

Operation Northwoods all over again.

Conspiracy Theory does not = Questioning

I am sooooo tired of this crap. Asking questions is NOT the same as conspiracy theorizing! And regardless, if someone does make a conspiracy theory that is supported by facts and problems with official stories, so what!!!!!!!!!! Grow up! Stop misusing this phrase "conspiracy theory," as if no one in power ever conspires and as if to question authority is "conspiracy."

Did you read the edit?

I downvoted my own thread, you guys won me over. Not through comments like this, but the comment titled "how can you know this" and the first comment on here.

Yes, I am sorry that I seemed

Yes, I am sorry that I seemed antagonistic, just very sensitive to this charge of "conspiracy theory."

Were probably in your way of thinking at one point... Like me!

The best antidote against hysterical irrational self-defeating

reactions to unexpected natural and man-made "catastrophe" is to be aware of what's in people's mind in & out of DC. The propaganda- manufacturers, conspiracy- whisperers, gardeners, taxi-drivers, those "stuck" in the cogs of bureaucracy with conscience, plain moms&pops and others all think and act.

I would like to listen to what they all have to say. And equip myself against making any illogical hysterical rash judgement as much as I can, hopefully by tapping into unbiased source of info, if there is such a thing left in this world.

Now that DP is redefined as a site for Peace+SoundMoney+Love+Liberty, I am open to seeing all types of info, including some references to conspiracy theories without unseemly raving & mud-slinging :-)

I LOVEed BMD's cartoons and Jon's falling/ shaking tricks on the screen that they labored to create for our End-of-World e-party, which allowed us to acknowledge the bizzarness of the occasion with fun-loving quirkiness :-) THAT is the type of free-spirit that I cherish about DP (and later would like to suggest a chip-in for a better cartoon-making software for BMD for MORE!!! But that's for another thread ;-)

How can you know this?

"The problem is that they then discredit Ron Paul and our movement and never come back. You're turning the newly awakened back into sheep."

What evidence do you have to support the former? The latter is an oxymoron.

If a person is "newly awakened" then they have awakened to what? That the official narrative of US history is at the very least serving the interests of a ruling elite? If this is what they have awakened to then the notion that maybe "nothing in politics is accidental" as FDR said will not surprise them.

The last thing you want in the "Revolution" is someone who is unwilling to question officialdom. It is not necessary to question everything just to be aware that every official announcement is coloured by an underlying agenda and follows an official narrative.

Over the past forty years Ron Paul has awakened many to the conspiracy of counterfeit money generated as debt by the Fed and the conspiracy of the ruling establishment to bring about a global government using this money to enslave the people in a welfare system and to support a burgeoning military security complex that is destroying the Bill of Rights. Indeed this has been his mission and he has stuck to it manfully.

Ron has put forward a practical political platform designed to destroy everything the ruling elites have accomplished in the past one hundred years. One may describe this as a "liberty" platform but to my mind it is simply a Constitutional platform having the goal of restoring the United States to Constitutional government, free markets, sound money and and a healthy reliance on personal responsibility. It has been aimed at the Federal usurpation of power and this cannot be achieved without exposing the conspiracies that have effected this power grab over the entire period of US history.

It is my guess that now he is free from his Congressional duties we shall see more of this truth telling Ron Paul and he will be in a better position to really stir thing up.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

I hope Ron Paul does shake things up

I wonder if he will, and what the consequences of doing that will be. It might prove me and this entire thread completely wrong.

However, I have seen people close to me discredit Ron Paul directly because of the conspiracy theories on this site, more than one person actually. I don't share this site with people I'm courting to liberty anymore because they ride me off once they read so many conspiracy posts. Most people just won't believe the media is rigged and they certainly won't believe the Government stages mass shootings. As far as that idea about staged shootings goes, I honestly don't know what to believe.

Don't be "jammed".

It is very easy to be shut down by excommunication. If you start to alienate friends and family because of what you believe to be true then that is a very good indication that you are on the right track. It confirms that most people are the victims of official "jamming". This is a psychological technique used to close down thinking that threatens the status quo.

'Conspiracy theory" is one common device used to do this. As an official "jammer" I will not engage in a reasoned debate of these subjects. I will simply deride the statements of my adversary and include the idea that these theories are the obsessions of a fringe minority and are not countenanced by normal healthy members of society.

When you broach these subjects with friends and family who have been subjected to "jamming" they will simply regurgitate the objections that they have been subtly force fed by the media and shut down their thinking faculty.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

How about not trying to thought police other people into a box?

How about you read the whole post

before making an accusation like that. You should probably read the comments below too. How am I policing thought???? I'm into conspiracies dude, just not into discrediting Ron Paul, ya dig?
