How does one go about being a "truther"?

I made a thread this morning trying to calm down truthers here. Through good arguments and directly proving my entire premise wrong, I'm on your side now. How do you go about being a truther in public? I know it's not easy but I'm in, I want to help out the truth.

Try to understand both sides

You should really try to fully understand both sides of the argument and try to realize how complex this issue is.

I recently actually read the NIST report on building 7 myself and have been sharing my thoughts on that to people in the truth movement.

People around DP are not very open to hearing thoughts that dont conform to their exact liking but I present them here to help get people thinking. As someone new to the issue I would be happy to hear your perspective.

many in the truth movement only show this cropped version of WTC 7 collapsing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD06SAf0p9A

they dont show the whole collapse which starts at least 10 seconds earlier.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrnmbUDeHus&feature=youtu.be&...

The complete video shows significant internal structural damage to the building occurring long before the video he shows. The more complete video actually looks like the NIST model.

I dont know what the truth is with building 7 or any of it. You just asked how to be a truther in public and I am trying to show you that you should have an appreciation that it is complicated. My recommendation is "be humble." Most in the truth movement come off saying things like WTC 7 is the smoking gun, or it is a slam dunk classic controlled demolition.

I believed this for a long time, until I started looking into it in detail for myself and not just listening to what self-anointed truth movement experts told me to think. No one, for example in the truth movement ever told me that WTC 7 was a unique structure as it was build on gigantic trusses over the con-edison substation.

If you read and learn the official explanation for WTC 7 collapse they identify the failure of this unique truss system as responsible for collapse. Their model lines up with the video evidence when viewed in its entirety. Like I said. Complicated...

Also, I totally agree. We MUST show humility

I try to refer to "The True Gentleman", in this case the line "who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another"

Very compicated

Thanks for the video and information.

Very interesting, but how could British TV report that WT7 had collapsed with a live feed of a standing WT7? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltP2t9nq9fI

To me, the "smoking gun"(s) on 9/11 are the cylinders on the bottom of the planes. You can clearly see something abnormal to commercial planes underneath flight 175.

I doubt we will ever know the whole truth of 9/11, just like the Kennedy assassination.

Focus on Liberty

Sometimes it is not helpful to focus on conspiracies, or at least it is not helpful to speak as if you are 100% right about them. Even the best theory is still just a theory.

If you observe Ron Paul, he says something along the lines of, (paraphrased)"conspiracies are too big for me to wrap my head around, so I just focus on the precepts of liberty."

I find I get further talking about liberty concepts rather than pushing unprovable conspiracy theories.

The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.

No.7's picture

I agree to an extent

Conspiracies do scare people off, but I believe that people need to hear conspiracy theories whether they believe it or not. They can't unlearn what they hear. We have a moral obligation to share the facts with others regardless of consequences, to play small out of fear of ridicule or being discredited is (at least to me) dancing on the graves of the thousands of men who have died for my Rights. I owe it to all the Tennessee Volunteers that laid their lives on the altar of freedom.

We can theorize about who/how JFK and 9/11 happened. We can theorize on details, but we can prove conspiracy. It is proven that The Warren Commission and 9/11 official report can be proven inconsistent with facts and eyewitness accounts. There is no doubt we are being lied to.

However, I do agree that some people aren't worth talking to about JFK or 9/11. I talk to those people mostly about sound money.

I try to align myself for the best chance at successfully sharing the idea in mind. I find it helpful to lead conversations by asking questions, and intently listening to what the target has to say. People usually listen when they can tell I showed them that respect.

Most people do not know how much silver dimes and quarters are worth. Since I can prove the value of silver coins to the dollar, I can prove to them that their money is being manipulated by our Government. Once someone knows that Government manipulates our money it becomes easier to believe conspiracies.

We need 1000 Paul Reveres, with gun confiscation showing itself on the horizon I can no longer stay quiet about the facts of conspiracy. Those that don't believe will one day believe, and they will remember you for telling them the truth.

Right on

The rEVOLution needs people like you. Good luck in your endeavors.

I like the quote, "people cannot unhear what they've heard"

I've tried so hard to avoid talking to certain liberals about guns, but sometimes I think I should tell them truth so that they cannot say they never heard such a thing. But really, they don't care what I have to say no matter how much sense it makes. It is painfully frustrating trying to talk to people like that.

The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.

No.7's picture

Painfully frustrating indeed

The liberals who argue now will be thankful you existed after gun confiscation.

It's hard to keep your cool with those people.

When I discovered the DP I have to admit I did a lot of eye

rolling as I sifted through the posts for things that interested me. It only took a few weeks for me to decide I needed to do some research of my own -- in a matter of a couple of months I was on information overload and a different person. It doesn't take long to "wake up" once they are open to digging for the truth.

God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it. – Daniel Webster

I believe it was Jack Hunter

Who I heard (at the We are the Future Rally in Tampa) say something along the lines of we have to give people bits and pieces of the truth in small doses allowing time between for it to sink in. It can be frustrating, but it is the only way to avoid being automatically written off as "crazy."

I know he wasn't actually referring to the "truther movement," but it fits. :)

I was there. That Tampa rally was awesome.

Between that and the P.A.U.L. festival....it was a very rewarding 1000 mile drive.

But, indeed, the truth has to be delivered in small doses.

Well, it took this ex-neocon ELEVEN years to wake up to the rather obvious questions surrounding the events of 9-11...like I was brainwashed or something.

Now that's CRAZY.

Yes it was!

I was at P.A.U.L. festival on Saturday and the Sun Dome on Sunday. I had actually planned to go alone but convinced my husband to go with me (as an anniversary present) at the last minute. It was what has made the biggest difference in his awakening. Going was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. :)

Hey I've called Alex Jones crazy before

but I still check his website every week. I had to hear conspiracies more than once for me to admit to myself it was true. Even then I argued that they shouldn't be spoken in the same breath as Ron Paul.

However, people need to hear it again and again. Let them call me crazy, they can't unlearn what they hear.

I have shared a picture

Of RP on my FB page several times that says "Speak up, speak often and don't worry about those that at this point cannot understand, as they can never un-hear what we tell them." It is one of my favorites!

Watch this EXCELLENT mini-documentary here:

The Sensible Doubt, from Denmark, is a very profound short documentary on the events of 9-11 that warrants our attention.

Watch it here (headphones on...great music and audio):

You definitely

Should not scream in peoples' faces, or do to normal people what WeAreChange used to do to powerful politicians. This confrontational style just wouldn't get the point across to most. Start with easily provable evidence so those you try to convince wouldn't be able to reject them.

I haven no idea what kind of "truth" you want to advocate though, 9/11? Bilderberg? What?

No.7's picture

All truth

but the premise of this post was that I refuse to stay quiet about 9/11 and JFK mostly. It's proven facts that the Government is lying about both. I'm not one to go screaming 9/11 was an inside job, we don't know that. I sure as hell suspect it, but I don't know.

I like some of what wearechange has done, people need to hear this stuff.

I had to hear it way more than once to accept it. You cant unlearn this stuff.

Glad you found the light:)

Get used to people calling you crazy, conspiracy theorist, ect. It can get frustrating but remember, it's not your job to inform the ignorant. If they want the truth, they will find it too.

Ignore "The Granger"

Another NWO propagandist. Damn I can spot these disinfo agents as fast as they pop up.

My words to him/her:

Do you really....REALLY think that you are an 'honest" liberty-minded DP'er on here...or a disinformation agent??

Which is it??

Where have you advanced the cause of DEMANDING a REAL investigation of the events of 9-11??

Show the links!

Where have you only and ALWAYS not provided maximum and total resistance to any challenge of the "official" government story of the events surrounding that murderous day??

Please SHOW YOUR EVIDENCE.

Or otherwise...like NORAD....stand down.

I've only been a member 2 months

but Granger has been here over 5 years. I'm actually looking to get some advice from her on joining the GOP. I wont ignore her, or anybody. Everyone below says a truth seeker reads everything, but only believes what holds water.

I'm sorry but I don't think she's a disinfo agent or anything like that.

We're all in this thing together. You guys are like minded whether you admit it or not. You're just fighting over details anyways, chill out.

Peace and Love to all.

Glean where you can. But if you are a truth seeker...

...and the person you seek info from about joining the GOP sees exposing lies and corruption as "counter-productive", and suggests that those who seek to expose the lies and corruption are sellouts and that they hate America, well...take that for what it's worth.

I respect her opinion

I had that same opinion not long ago. I dropped a few truth bombs on coworkers today but I'm careful about what I say and to whom I say it. It seems that the best course of action is to talk to the easily offended about sound money, it's much easier to prove the Government is devaluing our money and that gets people wondering about their Government.

However, when a friend brought up thermite today, I couldn't help but bring up the twin towers and the thermite samples found in the rubble. Some eybrows wen't up in the room but noone disagreed. I told him to look it up.

I'm trying to pick my battles for the best chance for success.

I also refuse to fight with my own people here, unless you hate Rand Paul. Then I'm calling you crazy :-P

Good on you for seizing opportunity and having the courage...

...to drop those truth bombs.

Sometimes it's hard to just bring stuff like that up out of the blue with people. So when you say you're careful about what to say and to whom, there is nothing wrong with picking your battles as you described... assessing your audience or the moment to determine what to talk about and with whom. I think that applies with all kinds of areas of discussion in our interactions with people. ;)

I get tired of disinformation when 3000 innocent people have

died...and more than double that amount of our troops have perished...because of that day..

I get SICK AND TIRED of people putting up smoke and mirrors when we need to start going after the REAL cover-up illusionists of 9-11...which include George Bush and Dick Cheney...and then go after Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama for obstruction of justice.

The witching hour...has begun.

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED.

LET ME REPEAT: 3000 INNOCENT PEOPLE AND FIRST RESPONDERS HAVE DIED. (AND, BY THE WAY 66% OF THE 30,000 WORKERS AT GROUND ZERO ARE NOW SICK...OR DEAD...BECAUSE THE BUSH ADMINSTRATION FORCED THE EPA TO DECLARE GROUND ZERO "SAFE" WHEN IT WASNT....AND THEN NOW 6,000 OR SO OF OUR TROOPS HAVE BEEN KILLED BECAUSE OF THAT DAY AND MANY SCORES OF THOUSANDS MORE MAIMED, WOUNDED, AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY SCARRED BECAUSE OF THAT DAY!!
