No Ammo Any Where Around Me In South Carolina! Sold Out

My friend called me and told me there wasnt any ammo at Acadamy and Wal-Mart in Spartanburg. I thought he was joking. I was in Gaffney at the time eating at Applebees and I told my wife when we are done lets go across the street to the Gaffney Wal-Mart and see. We went and they had NONE. Then I was really curious and decided to go to the Wal-Mart in Boiling Springs, SOLD OUT! I just got back but before I did I stopped at the Wal-Mart on the other side of Spartanburg (Hillcrest) and I bought the last 4 boxes of 12 guage shells. Something is going on and I dont like it!

Ahh..... just wait for the hysteria to die down

The 2nd amendment will never be repealed, proof of that is seeing all these people running to gun stores all across the U.S. People did'nt run out to protest the federal reserve actions or the passing of the provisions of the NDAA, the people sure as hell ran out when for the furious fear of losing guns. It will be political suicide for any Republican, Conservative Democrat to repeal gun rights. The fear of losing guns will make people run to vote in primary's, general elections like never before.

Our right to firearms doesn't

Our right to firearms doesn't go away if the 2nd amendment is repealed.

I was Christmas shopping

at our local Dunham's Sporting Goods last week, and thought I'd take a look at ammo prices...Mostly bare shelves. Some expensive wildcat stuff, 257 Roberts, 7mm mag, etc...I couldn't believe my eyes.

The clerk back there offered to help, and I told him I was just looking at 7.62x39 prices ($8 for 20!!!), but was taken aback at the emptiness of the shelves... I coyly say, "Something must have happened, huh?"...He says, "Yeah....Something".

seems awfully convenient if you ask me

That just when they want to ban guns and rip our rights away from us, suddenly a multitude of stores are out of ammo.

Now is it because gun owners are stocking up much like when you know a snow storm is coming you run to the grocery store to buy milk and bread? Or is it because supply lines were somehow interfered with and the shortage is just one more way to control the population?

It just seems awfully convenient if you ask me. I really really really hope its the former and people are just out there stocking up like mad. That would actually be good news.

A multitude is buying. that

A multitude is buying. that is a good thing. It is just not wallmarts either. All my online suppliers are out too.

Noticed that my Wal-Mart is

Noticed that my Wal-Mart is out of Ammo too.

For those that need to buy some, here is the last place I've found that still claims to have decent stock available.

Looks like the holidays and panic sales are causing a shortage. If by mid to late January the stores aren't restocking, then I'd start to worry.

Supply glitch

My guess it a supply problem. Just a surge in demand due to the recent gun ban scare and the manufacturers and suppliers are on holiday vacation. There could be a supply problem for a while due to the panic though. I think this is good news as it is proof Americans are arming themselves. I got some additional ammo as a Christmas gift, gotta love her. I will not go target practice until I know that I can replenish my supply.
Edit: I would suggest that those people that really don't need to buy more ammo now to wait till the supply chain catches back up and help those that really need ammo to stock up.

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

Hmmm....

Looks like the Feds could have known about this supply shortage or caused it or both:

Or were all these large ammo purchases standard operating procedure?

All over Texas there is a shortage too. No .223 that I can find. Slim pickings on popular calibers.

This is a wild guess but you're probably right..

This has probably been planned... Buy up the ammo as we've seen, False flag killings, push for gun control.. meanwhile ammo is hard to find because of the large government purchases which were meant to hinder gun owners from using or getting their weapons while they move in for the kill.

Those odd ammo purchase they did in "prepper" calibers may have been just what the doctored ordered to stop the preppers from doing anything when the gun control or gun confiscation begins.

Listen up...

Get what you can. But archery [cross-bows] should be in the mix. Get the screw on tips for obvious reasons. Plastic instead of feathers in the back because of the water.

Okay, you lost me there. Why a crossbow?

Are we going Rambo tips? lol

Ammo dries up, arrows don't. I am not a prepper, but I believe that when it comes to food one should be well prepared.

You can reload but I suspect that prices will go up for everything. Save the frns or junk silver for clothing and other stuff like gas, etc. Keep the co$tly shells for defense.

Since you seem to not be up with it, if you wreck up a tip they are cheaper to replace than the entire arrow, if they're the screw on kind ;-)

Who knows.. We might be making reloads out of silver one day

while hoping we can get our shots back lol. (Hunting)

No way man, not me, lol

I got separate rolls of pennies: 1. Pre-1982 cause they're solid and $.02, and 2. the worthless ones to melt for other purposes ;-)

Man, if we're making reloads out of silver, that's gonna be one helluva long and drawn out war! I don't have that many rolls of pennies!

Damn, you're getting me paranoid now. Maybe I should I buy up some more of those screw-on tips.

LOL

You're full of good ideas. (I write this as I eye a roll of copper tubing near my desk)

Save the silver!!!

I knew the last part but wasn't sure why you started on

a crossbow.

I was at one time a really good shot with a bow. I'd fish and hunt with them. I even took a buzzard riding hot air waves, straight out of the sky. Pinned squirrels to trees and rabbits on the run. (brag over)

My eyesight and being out of practice, well, I'm probably not that good anymore. That's probably an understatement. :)

Yeah

My eyes aren't so hot anymore either. But if I still can, I'm sure you would too. Maybe not dead center but at least in the white, or the rump, lol.

F&ck getting old. I can still hang with the best of 'em.

Oh yeah, the crossbow instead of a compound because you can put on a really great scope. It helps the eyes!

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

All true for me too. lol

Good call.

Actually crossbows and bows in general bring to mind another reason now that you mention it. They are silent compared to their alternative.

Most excellent call.

Just to throw one more out there for "prepping" sake and anyone that might find themselves in the woods running from who knows what lol..

I have animal traps as well to provide meat for a large amount of people, as in family, friends and whoever else might be tagging along. Bows will make a good company for them, thanks for the thought.

Look at BulkAmmo.com - no

Look at BulkAmmo.com - no bulk left. .22 is gone. they were selling that stuff in 1000s of rounds.

I have access to

100K plus rounds per week of .223, but if I go into business doing this, it won't be cheap and it will ship in ammo cans. Posts like this and elsewhere are tempting me to go for it...

Wholesale on 30 cap mags went up from $12 to $75 each from my supplier too. I'm not dealing with that unless people are glad to pay $125 each plus shipping...

What to do?

what brand?
