Bin Laden... who?

Aside from all of the many questions that linger around Bin Laden, one such question struck me during a conversation with a soldier currently stationed in Afghanistan.

He mentioned that UBL was taken out last year. UBL - Usama Bin Laden.

If Usama Bin Laden was killed, then who killed Osama Bin Laden?

Is there a global spelling error, or is it simply a clever way of never being right?

The FBI wants U.sama Bin Laden

The World knows O.sama Bin Laden

Who's dead?

I'm guessing it is

like (G)addafi and (Q)addafi, I have seen his name spelled and pronounced both ways. Perhaps a translation thing?

That's possible, also

It's just a bit strange that there is such a lack of global formality for identification.
