Gun Confiscation = Act of War

Any person that comes to your house to get your guns should be met with deadly force. Shoot to kill.

Further, I would not recommend participating in any attempts by the government to make more exhaustive lists of gun ownership.

Laws are only effective when people mind them. Don't be complicit. Stand up against any measures that violate rights outlined in the Constitution.

The right to bear arms is a sacrosanct right of any free people. In addition, we have the right to stand against illegal searches and seizures. Gun confiscation not only violates the 2nd Amendment but also the 4th.

In the event that gun confiscation begins I suggest having enough food in store to last at least a couple of months (rice, beans, etc). Train members of your household how to conduct an effective fire watch detail and implement standard procedures to combat unlawful intrusions on your property. As well, it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in a home security system that cannot be remotely controlled from outside of your residence. Instead invest in loud buzzers that activate upon opening of windows or doors that work off of batteries.

Be vigilant. It is a shame and shows a great failure of leadership that we should even have to discuss these things.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."

~Thomas Jefferson

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

~2nd Amendment to the Constitution

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

~4th Amendment to the Constitution

If they want our guns, make them murder us in cold blood. We are peaceful citizens, but we have the right to self defense against a tyrannical government.

And to those agents of the central government that may come with intent to disarm the populace, please consider what your reaction would/will be when they come to disarm you. It is your duty to uphold the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Don't let them shit on our rights. Make a stand. Where will you draw the line?

War it is.

If this does get started be smart about it. Effect those who effect you.

Years ago...

Years ago I read of someone building a movable upright barrier comprised of two sheets of OSB or plywood separated by about 5"-6" and parallel to one another. These two sheets of 4' x 8' paneling were mounted on a base structure with four heavy casters to make it easy to move around. In the 5"-6" space between the two panels, crushed rock about 1" minus in size was placed and such a panel barrier would stop even 308 AP and everything smaller. I think 50 cal would go through it like cheese however.

Fill with water.

Water slows down a 50 like it does a 308.

If they are shooting at you

If they are shooting at you with a 50 caliber you better have an escape tunnel. I mainly wanted people to know that walls made of 2x4 and plywood will be of no protection unless there is brick or stone veneer.

But brick or stone veneer in attainable quantities will serve no purpose. 50 cal will go through like butter. Water is the only viable solution for the average person. Even at that, it would take a cavity of roughly 14 inches across filled with water to be sufficient.

You are correct concerning an escape tunnel.

I found this so have edited this to add proof:

Escape tunnel should be

Escape tunnel should be filled with water and you should have scuba gear nearby to it. It's not likely they will have scuba gear themselves in a house to house scenario.

That's an awesome idea

but how do you keep water in whatever your hiding behind. I like where your going with this.

I haven't thought of the details, but the info above was 2 walls filled with rocks. So I figured maybe line it with swimming pool lining and fill it with water. Most likely it would not be portable but behind the house somewhere, out in the woods, wherever you set up camp, you could have a nice 50 cal and smaller proof shelter.

A few miles from where I live it is poor economic conditions, there are very cheap homes built underground with grass, plants, shrubbery on top, you'd never know they were actual homes. They are nice too. Mobile-home size, living room, bed, kitchen, bath, all underground. In that scenario maybe go 10 feet deeper, construct something that would contain water over the 'roof' but still underground and there's no way that a shell would penetrate. That would buy you time anyway, until they send in reinforcements, which at that point it wouldn't matter. But at least you'd be protected from the guys on foot.

I'm thinking of...

I'm thinking of attending the next city hall meeting and asking the Chief of Police, who is always in attendance, if she will have her officers protect us from any unconstitutional gun grabs or participate in them.

Maybe we should all contact our state representatives and governors and ask if our state's National Guard will intervene and stop the federal government's gun grab if it comes to that?

It is tragic that 20 children

It is tragic that 20 children lost their lives that day. But what they really want is to disarm Americans. They'd be putting MILLIONS of children at risk by taking our guns away. This isn't about the children. It's all about control, power, and disarming Americans. That's it.

It's not Americans who should

It's not Americans who should be disarmed.

Each community needs to

Each community needs to organize a group of minutemen like they did in Lexington and Concord that would come at a minute's notice to defend the constitutional rights of its citizens. The men who fought for freedom in 1775 are considered patriots and heroes. As far as I am concerned, it is the same now.

right on!!!

amc...you hit the nail on the head!!!One person or even a family won't be able to do much against them when they come for guns.BUT if we organize locally, and stand up against them to defend our constitutional rights....they will have to recognize!
