Single? Libertarian? Obviously Most of us are not Feverishly Looking for Love but Can We Find it at the Daily Paul?
Submitted by vinceableworld on Mon, 12/31/2012 - 23:01Please comment if you're currently single and you would like others at the DP to know. As I just commented on another post I've been waiting for the day when someone comes along who would like to stand by my side in this battle for liberty.
I asked a question in chat a few minutes ago:
"Why is there such a shortage of libertarian women?"
The answer was that "Women like to feel safe."
Okay granted a lot of us get into a lot of trouble simply because we assert our rights. Where are the women who find that sort of thing attractive? Our society in this country has gone downhill... perhaps one of the primary reasons is because most women drop men like a bad habit as soon as they prove themselves to not be compliant and especially do not want to be with someone who "questions authority."
When did having a moral compass and unshakable principles become so unattractive?

I was going to leave a comment but didn't.
Now perhaps you've raised the issue. See, liberty-minded women are strong. Some are, in fact, "stoic." It's not a characteristic that appeals to all men. Not that I'm saying this applies to you, but if men aren't strong themselves, some can find such women a bit... threatening.:)

EyI am a 36 year old, single, and libertarian. I have come to the conclusion that I am having a lot of trouble with dating and relationships for two reasons.
1. I don't "need" a man...on the surface. I have ran a household as a single mom for almost 15 years. I have learned how to fix, build, and maintain most everything in my house. I am quite comfortable with just myself as company. I don't need three phone calls a day and if we are being honest...I find constant, pointless phone calls irritating. Along that same line, I do not feel the need to keep tabs on anyone. Which leads to my next point...
2. I think because I am so stoic....many men think that I don't care or am not interested. It almost feels like, if I acted like a psycho...which so many men claim to hate... that things may have worked out differently by now. But because I won't stalk them or show up at their house or completely lose my shit and become a crying needy mess if they don't give me enough attention... they lose interest. It's seems even though they say they hate the drama... without it they don't feel like they are loved.
So like many of you... I too hope that I can find a like minded individual who can see the worth of being with someone who doesn't fall apart over the small stuff...because those are the type of people who can handle when TSHTF. Now I am just waiting for the man who recognizes this in me...

Women can be sometimes more fickle or vain
...in comparison to a man who is mature enough to know he already wants to settle down.
A libertarian mindset is still a very new concept amongst most single aged, American women. Just have patience, pray and wait for "the" one. Once liberty really catches fire, you should have a pretty good pick.
The Bible does offer some very good advice about not being unequally yoked. More marriages would last if people were sincere in their convictions and took that advice to heart.

This weekend I was at a bar with a friend and she asked if any of the guys there seemed interesting. They did not (not to me at least). Anyways, I told her if a guy walked in wearing a Ron Paul shirt I would go talk to him no matter what, and I would not hesitate for a second. She laughed because I am pretty mild mannered and introverted, and do not often walk up to guys (or anyone for that matter) to start a conversation, but I would not hesitate if I knew he was liberty minded.
