What have we become?

My attempt at understanding the madness of current events.....

It's troubled times we live in
under leadership that's failed
And if you raise a voice to it
You'll surely end up jailed

They vote to now raise taxes
take away our guns
Restrict our rights and liberties
Outlaw joy and fun

Who are these souls who feel this right
and yet won't grant our nation
The peace and freedoms they enjoy
Where's the peoples ration?

They shed a tear on public stage
to calm the grieving masses
And order death in other lands
while sitting on their a$$e$

They order children off to die
in lands they seek to pillage
Claim it was a terrorist threat
when drones destroy a village

Where are the tears for those poor souls
those killed in foreign lands
There is no soap or cleanser
that could clean their bloody hands

The media will glorify
the acts of evil shown
as kids and wives of others die
from bombs of silent drones

Who are we, allowing acts
These evil souls decree
Are these the acts that will define
Our great "land of the free"
