Sean Hannity lost roughly half of his audience
Submitted by HonorGod on Wed, 01/02/2013 - 18:22Two of the top conservative commentators on Fox News saw their ratings plummet after Barack Obama’s re-election victory in November. According to Nielsen, Bill O’Reilly’s numbers dropped by nearly a third, while Sean Hannity lost roughly half of his audience by the end of 2012.
The thinking that explains the disparity between Hannity’s and O’Reilly’s ratings hit is that Hannity steadfastly refused to believe in an election outcome other than one that saw Mitt Romney taking over the White House in 2013.

I still can’t believe a man
I still can’t believe a man of his caliber has an audience to begin with. It’s sad that when one thinks of conservatism, Sean Hannity’s name is usually bandied about as someone who encapsulates it.

What did Hannity's audience do in 2008?
If it dropped this much, then these new numbers probably mean very little.
this is not a truthful post
most saw audiences decline, mostly election fatigue. They are back to their normal 2 million a night vs the bump after the RNC convention.

Seems normal
The election season is over, the sheep no longer give a shit.
after Republican leaders stab Republican voters in the back...
concerning the physical cliff, ratings should drop even more.
You do mean the Fecal Cliff, don't you?...
Because that's about how it looks and smells to me...

It is a measure of the presidential election / entertainment cycle.
I guess trolls have lives too
You gotta know the DP was saturated with trolls during that time. I bet that's what accounts for most of the "loss".
Was going to ask about the International traffic the DP gets but I found the numbers.

replied to my inquiry on ad buys on the DP yet? :-)
Sorry the crowd has thinned, Michael. It seems alot busier since this 2nd amendment showdown has come to light.

Stats:
7 day +14% UP
1 month -22.37% DOWN
3 month -21.98% DOWN
(Estimated percentage of global internet users who visit dailypaul.com)
The fact that a site primarily about getting Ron Paul elected is not down 90% after him NOT getting elected I'd say is VERY encouraging!
Estimated percentage of
Estimated percentage of global internet users?? You're saying more than 22% of all Internet users in the world used to use the Daily Paul before a month ago? That's not right...
No
Let me explain Alexa rankings. First, they are NOT conclusive or verifiable to be accurate.
The only way to accurately measure global traffic to a site is to either be the site itself or control all the routing for the traffic reaching that site. Alexa can do neither. So the way they ESTIMATE traffic for Internet sites is by having users around the world install their Alexa toolbar on their browser. Alexa can then see the percentage of Alexa toolbar users that visit different sites on the Net, and make an ESTIMATION based on that for how much the rest of the Internet users view those sites. It's not a perfect system, but it gives a ballpark of various site's traffic.
So the numbers above say that of all the traffic that WAS visiting dailypaul.com about 22% of it has went away over the last 3 months.
Note: Alexa may have enhanced their data finding techniques, but the above is how they began operations.
I understand, but you said
I understand, but you said "global" traffic which is what threw me off. This is explicitly not global traffic, it is the exact opposite, local traffic.
your right
So maybe the question is what can be done about that.
Hold sign waves!
And put more bumber stickers on! Like in business, it's about advertising!

Uh, no, there's nothing wrong
Uh, no, there's nothing wrong with either of those things but they don't really help much. I think a huge part of our problem is people think it actually does good to buy a bumper sticker... I mean, you need to do a lot more than that... that's just like a tiny, itty bitty extra thing you can do if you don't have a nice car.
Have a little fun in life.

Aside from work, I spend most of my waking days working on the problems.
My r3VOLution car badge makes me feel special, and better. Maybe you can get one too. You know, just for fun. Grrrr!!!!

You didn't read my comment
You didn't read my comment then?
That's a really cool badge, but I'm not going to put adhesive on my vehicle.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing to wear a bumper sticker, or a t-shirt (I have 4 RP T-shirts), or any of that. What I'm saying is, that is not how you "do something about it". That is just how you tell the world that you are doing something about it, and unfortunately it can also be how you pretend to the world that you are trying to do something about it.
Use a magnet
I get a sheet of 'magnet stuff' and just paste my bumper stickers on it. Very easy on and off whenever you want. I'll bet I had 20 -30 (that I actually saw in the mirror) people taking pics of my WHORES sticker that used the Obama 'O' and Romney 'R' in the word. lol I do like a bumper sticker on a car the same way I preach to get yard signs in yards and not waste them at corners and highways etc. If advertising is on personal property as a car or yard it shows actual people supporting a candidate or cause as opposed to a gazillion signs slapped up on highways by campaign workers and committee people. My current magnets that alternate opposite my Ron Paul mag are "I ALWAYS VOTE FOR THE OTHER GUY" or "FOX NEWS(logo) KEEPS ME STUPID". lol
Hey TelFire
Wow. A vote down. Here ya go, I voted my post below a vote down too, lol.
You still have not answered my question.

Yes, I did.
However, you obviously have not read mine.
Tell me, TelFire, what have YOU done?
"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul
I'm not trying to call you
I'm not trying to call you out or anything. I'm just saying that buying a sticker isn't enough. We all help the liberty movement in our own ways. Just as an example here is the A#1 thing that sounds stupid but a lot of people forget and will still act like total liberty ballers... ACTUALLY VOTE. If someone talks liberty up and puts stickers on their car and wears t-shirts and then they don't go actually vote when voting day comes, well that's not going to get us anywhere. And we need people doing get out the vote phone call programs, volunteering to their local GOP, running for office, helping campaign for local liberty candidates who have absolutely no chance left to the media alone.
I have voted, given money and done some phone calling, but I don't feel I've done enough personally and I will always try to do more.
