Illinois Goes All In, Moves To Ban All Guns, Criminalize Owners

Yes, this is really happening...

http://www.infowars.com/illinois-moves-to-outlaw-modern-fire...

Illinois Senate President John Cullerton will reportedly introduce a draconian bill today in the Illinois legislature that will effectively ban all modern firearms, criminalize their owners, and subject their guns to confiscation by the Illinois State Police.

The proposed outlawing of firearms was confirmed by the NRA’s Illinois rep, according to Robert Farago, writing for The Truth About Guns website.

The move coincides with a federal effort by Senator Dianne Feinstein to introduce legislation outlawing semiautomatic firearms and imposing de facto confiscation.

From the Illinois State Rifle Association:

Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well. This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not only so-called ‘assault weapons’ but also such classics as M1 Garands and 1911-based pistols. There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the State Police to avoid prosecution.

Folks monitoring the effort to disembowel the Second Amendment in the Land of Lincoln say the bill has a 50-50 chance of passage.

They advise gun owners both in and out-of-state to call Senate President Cullerton at 217-782-2000 and contact state representatives at ilga.gov.

Looks like

Chicago fascists might be giving up the fight :

However, nothing is certain - stay vigilant Illinois and write your local state rep if you haven't already.

if this passes

shoot to kill

Criminalize owners...

gotta keep those private prisons in business.

I Don't Like Illinois

The more I hear about that state the less I ever want to go there. Didn't Chicago have 500 shootings in their wonderful "gun free zone" city?

skippy

Yup

Chi-town, the progressive liberal gun-free utopia, has had 500 gun murders in the last year.

If they get away with this in Illinois, the rest of the.........

......country will follow.

Didn't they just have their concealed carry ban overturned? How

does this idiot expect to outright ban simple possession?

Is he a product of Illinois public schooling?

Was he dropped on his head too much as a child?

Did he have to undergo electro-shock therapy at some prior point in his life?

Did he drop too much acid in college?

Just how does someone get so colossally effing stupid?

Is it possible to be this moronic and still be able to breathe and have a heartbeat? Is he really clinically dead?

Is this the beginnings of the Zombie Apocalypse?

yup

Haven't we seen this a hundred times - one big decisions makes headlines and everyone goes back to sleep feeling comfy cozy. In the meantime the wheels of tyranny kick into overdrive and screw you bigger than the original "winning" headline issue.

No - this guy is grooming himself for the big leagues.

Time to gather up your firearms

And march towards the capital building in Illinois.

I want to see that happen.

turn in your guns?

Can't you sell them to someone in a state with a brain for a state president or governor? Are they going to compensate the owner or is this just theft by force? Is the compensation, if there is one, commiseration with the cost of the original purchase? I can see the citizens rising up and throwing the president out of office. Now if only we could do the same with OUR president.

I can see the headlines:

"A record number of firearm thefts have been reported to ALL local police stations. It seems every firearm in the state has been stolen, if the reports are to be believed."

It passed out of

It passed out of committee

This bill was added as an amendment

to a pedophellia bill. Details are a little fuzzy, but no confiscation it seems. All listed weapons must be registered with the state police. Banned items are clips over 10 rounds, and any pistol which weighs over 50oz stock without ammo. New sales of anything semi-auto will be pretty much banned.

Does that then mean that all committee members are traitors?

uncostitutional

The law if passed would be unconstitutional.
It would go against Article 22 of the State Constitution.

This will piss you off !

Let’s Give Up on the Constitution

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/31/opinion/lets-give-up-on-th...

They dont dare let people make any comments at the bottom of the article.

Its time for the people to wake up and hold the elected represenitives to their oath of office. If they violate their oath a recall should be started in their state.

Tin Pan

The most pathetic part about that article is that what we are

suffering now is precisely what they are calling for.

The Constitution has already in many respects effectively been abandoned. Which is why things are going down the shitter.

It isn't because of the Constitution that we can't get out of this mess. It's because we have abandoned it that we got here in the first place.

But the NYT is too stupid to figure that out.

Or, they know that exactly to be true. Which makes them evil.

It is becoming clear that there isn't much middle ground anymore on anything.

Either you have a clue and you are for preserving the republic. OR, you are an idiot or evil.

The gray areas are disappearing fast.

Which can only mean one thing:

winter is coming...

This

is what gallows were made for.

They Aren't Going To Like How This Turns Out

Folks monitoring the effort to disembowel the Second Amendment in the Land of Lincoln say the bill has a 50-50 chance of passage.

BS. If it does, they can go to hell if they think they are getting my guns. I might even start them on the trip. The Bill of Rights still trumps these azzholes.

Summary of HB 1263

Just in case you still can't get a hold of Cullerton...

He co-owns a bar/restauraunt in Chicago named "Tavern on Rush", that # is (312) 664-9600. Have at it.
I called his legislation line this morning and his voice mail was full.

Phones...

sounds busy over there tonight, I was redirected to an anonymous voice mail. Any luck for you guys?

I think the Illinois State Legislature needs to watch what....

Anonymous says about any attempt to confiscate firearms.

Unless members of the Illinois legislature want to be charged, convicted and executed for treason, they better quickly rethink their positions.

If anyone thinks I am overreacting, please realize Anonymous will either prove they have the power to do this or all bets are off regarding an armed revolution. I hope the powers that be back down before it is too late.

Excellent follow up

Excellent follow up article....

What Would Happen if the Government Banned Firearms and Tried to Confiscate Our Guns?

http://urbangrounds.com/2013/01/what-would-happen-if-the-gov...

If you read the summary of Sen. Diane Feinstein’s proposed assault weapons ban (read it here on her Senate page) it’s very clear that — despite having no idea what an assault weapon actually is, or how it differs from a semi-automatic hunting rifle (hint: it doesn’t) — Feinstein’s ultimate motive is no different than it was back in 1995 when she told for the complete ban and confiscation of ALL weapons from American citizens:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blXkl9YVoHo&feature=player_em...

We all quickly agreed a violent revolution and rebellion would occur almost immediately. Most, if not all, members of Congress who voted for the ban/confiscation would be assassinated. In fact, what Bob Owens describes in this post “What You’ll See At the Revolution” is exactly what we described would happen.

What I can't stand the most about all of this is how the powers that be actually WANT to start some kind of war within the United States. This is horrible, because so many people are going to give them the war they want.

WOW- wow- woe there, woe woe - better slow down there

That's different...

From this article:

In early December, gun grabbers in the state were dealt a setback when the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the state’s ban on carrying a weapon in public is unconstitutional.

These stories are completely

These stories are completely unrelated to what I posted, but I do feel that they are VERY important to this discussion.

These news reports will unfortunately be nothing but a diversion to the new bill being proposed that has a 50/50 chance of passing.

Many gun owners in Illinois are going to be satisfied with the latest news, but they don't know what's coming down the pipe.
