Earth to the Paul Campaign-TAKE OFF THE GLOVES!!

0 votes

We have all spent much time criticizing the media for their "blackout" of Dr Paul.
Attached is a link to an article from a NJ journalist who thinks the Paul campaign is making mistakes. In contrast to Ronald Reagan, who spent his time pointing out the differences between his Conservative agenda, and the other Liberal agendas, Paul takes a loftier approach, and his message alienates the media. The media wants the stuff that sells!! Lets give it to them!!
Im sure ill get roasted for this, but it seems to me the campaign could do much more with our hard earned $$ reaching out to the media, and pointing out that McCain supports endless wars and has no economic background or understanding, That Guiliani, has actually stated hes not a republican, that Huckabee has raised taxes as much as any Liberal on the Democratic side....etc.
In politics, media has always been an important campaign tool. Maybe its not just the media, but the Paul (Liberterian)campaign ideals, that prevent his message from getting out?

If the Paul Campaign wants to win an election, it has to take off the gloves.

I may get roasted tooo. ;-) - Good post!

I AGREE! there is NO reason not to ATTACK the policies of every FAKE republican running. And do it LOUDLY!! There's statistics out there on how much of a socialist Huckabee is, Romney with his "forced" universal health care in Tax-achetts, Rudy with NO republican values (open boards and socialism) and McCain who wants to spend us into 2 or 3 more WARS until doomsday. McCain especially when he made speeches on the Senate floor again NON-intervention in Bosnia b/c it didn't fit into his agenda at the time. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Dr. Paul has protected his record very well and the rest haven't. Make them pay for their terrible records. Not to say Tax-achetts and Arkansas does NOT have the right to have socialism, but is there any reason to believe this is acceptable for the Fed Government to be run this way?

thanks for the post!

Gloves off

I think this is a good point. I was trying to think of the most worrying character traits which have struck me over the last few weeks. They need repeating over. I seem to recall mccain's jab at innocent peoples when he sang (to The Beach Boys Barbara Anne) 'Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran'. And coming from a nation of animal lovers I was gobsmacked to learn that Huckabee popped a sqirrell in a pop corn fryer when at college then years later his son hanged a dog.then there's Guiliani and the NY radios fiasco & threatening firefighters with arrest for wanting to continue the search for victim parts, I think? I believe we fight unreal fire with truthful fire with truth displayed as truthful observations of other candidates and not petty smears as Dr Paul keeps getting fired at him and his supporters. How can any one call RP a racist when the Government are all out against races such as iraqis and afghani innocents because of their race and where they live? I've never heard Busco say we are going to deal with any leader, just the nation. I.E: Iran.
That's racist!

Dr. Paul has campaigned for 20 years

I've supported Ron Paul since 1988 and seen what his campaign team has had to do to keep him in Congress in spite of GOP attempts to defeat him in the primaries. His libertarian message hasn't hurt him; it's helped! If we want the campaign to be even better, we need to send constructive, helpful ideas to the campaign and let them decide whether or not it works into their overall plan. Dr. Paul hasn't gotten reelected against all odds by not having a strategy; I'm sure his campaign has a good one or he wouldn't have gotten this far. The apparent vote fraud and media bias are more problematic than anything the campaign may or may not be doing. (Campaign literature does point out that Huckabee has raised taxes, etc., but it was criticized for the "negativity.") Let's stop pointing fingers at each other and get to work!

this is not a congressional representative election

its a national-global struggle. its going to require a lot more than has been applied in the past. we thought the polls were wrong, thats where we hung our hats...guess what, they were close enough. there needs to be a change or Paul will only be getting 10% throughout and thats not going to do it.
Im not criticizing the message, just the delivery, we are now fighting tyranny and desperate times require....you know the rest.
i view this as a realistic, constructive criticism for the retaking of my counrty.

RP vs Rudy about 9-11 at first debate

Thats what got him the most press, even more than the teaparty.

But i still trust RP to do what he thinks is best to win elections, hes done it 10x. Ive done it zero.

It's not just "take off the gloves"

Although that is certainly called for.

The article in the link says it all. He is correct on ALL points.

EVERY person I have tried to convert has said (of RP):"He's confused, scattered, mumbling, incomprehensible etc etc"

He is NOT by nature. We know he's not, but after watching the interview in Vegas this morning, I despair.

It all comes down to prep. Ron needs to be well rested, and well briefed before these appearances. It looks like neither is the case.

That's the staff's job.

He needs "talking points", pithy little phrases that sum up his point, not rambling non-sequiters in that stream-of-conciousness style that we're getting.

This is not Ron Paul at his best. He needs a new team. NOW.

Time to come out firing....

Dr. Paul,

In the next debate..point to the others, call them NeoCons, have a little attitude. Point out how they have adopted a foreign policy doctrine that Republicans once considered interventionist. Mention Kosovo and Somalia and how the GOP was strongly against it (at least it was humanitarian in nature) and yet they now actively seek trouble. Tell them that they have become "Democrats" in their thinking (that one would hurt).

Dr. Paul, come out firing.....

I read this article before - it is true...

Paul needs a Red-Blooded Conservative Republican on his staff.

End of story.

Hello? The Paul Campaign is on Earth

Why do you say 'Earth to the Paul Campaign' when the Paul Campaign is on the Earth with you?

Earth to borujudasdedrich

We're not actually saying this is the Earth calling Ron, BoruJudas.
Listen. It's not like we think we're actually in a control tower trying to reach outer space aliens or something, okay?

Zoolander, anyone?

its an expression

for getting peoples attention, it even worked on you!

Agreed! And while they are

Agreed! And while they are at it SPEND SOME MONEY on better a good marketing firm and better PR people! Media relations is more than sending out a few press releases and waiting for them to pay attention.

They just spent a bunch...

on an 8 state ad blitz in preparation for NV and Super Tuesday, the campaign probably needs more funds at this point than most of us believe.

It's a waste of money if

It's a waste of money if they spend it on air time for the current crop of ads IMHO

Great Ad!

I really like this one! Good Job! Why arent some of these amazing videos being used on local TV ?

Look at this 30 second ad

This is so powerful to me, in 30 seconds..

Powerful, but preaching to the choir.

Yes, it's a powerful ad to those of us who are in the choir...

I don't think it says much to someone who does not understand the message of liberty, or that Ron Paul will deliver.
