Jesse Benton: "I have never been more proud of a boss than I am of Senator McConnell right now."

From Economic Policy Journal:

After Mitch McConnell put together the Senate "fiscal cliff" bill that raised taxes for just about everyone, but gave $76 billion in tax breaks to a combination of Hollywood cronies and regular corporate cronies, Jesse Benton is out with a fundraising email for the "leadership" provided by McConnell during the fiscal cliff negotiations.

Here is the entire fundraising email. It did not come from The Onion. It is from Jesse "No Shame: Benton (My highlights), coming out just hours after Congress passed the "fiscal cliff" bill that will result in a paycheck reduction for just about everyone (except the cronies):

Subject: Score one for the good guys

Dear Patriot,

I have had the honor of working for some leaders I could really be proud to stand with. And let me tell you, I have never been more proud of a boss than I am of Senator McConnell right now.

Let me tell you why.

When Barack Obama won re-election in November, Obama decided he was willing to force the country off the fiscal cliff to push through his agenda. The result would be the largest tax increase in American history.

Unless Congress took action, everyone’s taxes were going up January 1st, big time. Middle class families across Kentucky and our country would have seen their first paychecks on January 15th literally hundreds of dollars smaller due to new federal income tax withholding.

I don’t know about you, but as a middle class working man raising a young family, I can ill afford Barack Obama reaching deeper into my pockets, and I’ll bet just about every Kentuckian feels the same way.

In the end, there is only one reason why Kentucky taxpayers avoided these tax hikes: Senator Mitch McConnell.

For two months, well-intentioned allies in the fight for smaller government attempted to thwart President Obama’s plan. But it wasn’t until Leader McConnell took the reins that real progress was made. He showed the strong, disciplined and savvy leadership that only he can provide. And, in the end, he ensured that over 99% percent of Kentuckians will not pay higher income taxes.

What’s also important to know is that he has put us on strong footing in the fight to cut spending.

You see, the fiscal cliff was a two-part problem, one of both taxes and spending. Leader McConnell wisely separated the two to put us on stronger footing in both. First he fought off President Obama’s tax hikes for as many Kentuckians as he could.

Now comes part two.

In order to keep spending, Congress must raise the federal debt limit in two months. Through his leadership, Senator McConnell has not only ensured that your taxes will not go up, he has taken the threat of income tax hikes totally off table for debt limit negotiations. Now, President Obama and his allies will not be able to threaten every American with higher taxes as we fight for spending restraint and entitlement reform.

And let me tell you, I know Senator McConnell will be as rock solid and resolute in that fight as he was in protecting our paychecks.

Senator McConnell is a special leader and we can all be proud of what he just did for us. I hope you will stand with him now and in the coming months. If you are able, please help with a contribution of $50, $100, $250 or even $500 today.

If we come together and stand with Leader McConnell, we can get this country back on track. So, make sure to forward this email to your friends and neighbors to let them know that Mitch McConnell just saved their paychecks. Help us spread the word Facebook and Twitter. And please, if you can, help us with your generous contribution right away.

Thank you,

Jesse Benton

There is no shame in Jesse's

There is no shame in Jesse's game.

Some people think Benton deserved the hundreds of thousands he received from the Paul campaign. What do you think?

I'm counting on it but not in the way he hopes.

Putting Ron Paul in a class with McConnell. Ew.

I hope everyone leaves a

I hope everyone leaves a comment on here, because I know JB reads them.

Told ya so....

I began raising questions about Benton on this site back in the summer of 2011. I kept it up for months and finally gave up on getting through to anyone by May 2012. I knew we'd been had, but certain folks on this site refused to take off the blinders and look at the facts. I was called names, my posts were moved to "off-topic", and my loyalty to the movement was questioned. Glad to know the truth has finally come out. I love Dr. Paul, but he made some very poor decisions when it came to his campaign staff, and this ultimately leads me to believe he would have made equally poor decisions as president, (yep, that was hard one to admit). So, let's learn from this. So, next time, let's find someone like Ron, but who won't be so easily hoodwinked. I know, I know... if ya can't trust your son-in-law and son, who CAN you trust?... My answer to that is: Don't mix family & business... AND... Don't mix family & politics. Family members screw each other over all the time. Need proof? Watch any number of day time court room shows, you'll see. Oh well, I hope Jesse enjoys being so important in the final days of the GOP. History will remember him as a schmuck who betrayed a kind and trusting old man.... and that old man's movement consisting of thousands and thousands of patriots. sucks to be jesse.

"sometimes I hug the coffee table when no one is looking."

JB = grifter

“a person who operates a side show at a circus, fair, etc., especially a gambling attraction.”
I would call this an extortion-friendly PR stunt nothing but a Ponzi scheme with talks of higher taxes on the so-called rich to divert from the taxes on the 70 plus percent; it (courtesy of we, the vast American populace) will continue to subsidize “too big to fail” crooked banks with taxpayers’ money and American citizens’ social security benefits. Ron Paul: “they pretend they are fighting up there, but they really aren’t. They are arguing over power, spin, who looks good, who looks bad; all trying to preserve the system where they can spend what they want, take care of their friends and print money when they need it.” Listening to JB is tantamount to accepting a coin toss with the two sides, Dems and Repubs, the same rotten coin. We saw the trickery in RP's 2012 campaign and now we see the deception for what it is.

"Ive never been more proud of a boss".
That was a direct SLAM to Ron Paul.

Benton should swing for that one.
You can bet he is talking and giving up rons WINNING secrets.
Thats why he was hired.
Problem still remains, you have to be a REAL conservative to win like Ron Paul has won.
NONE of them are real conservatives, so they will never win the same way Ron has. Ron spends NOTHING on campaigning.
He uses his support and if it is not there and the people do not know what to do- he says it wasnt meant to be.
He is old fashioned that way and I LOVE IT!

I feel bad for Mitch McConnell

Yes, for the first time, I feel bad for Mitch. I had no idea Jesse was running his campaign. Sorry Mitch. lol

Here is an old post where someone had the nerve to question Jesse, and so many replies eager to give Jesse the benefit of the doubt. Folks, a handful of us tried to warn Ron Paul and you about Jesse, and it is largely the same group of us trying to warn you now about Rand. This is not from a position of "we are smarter than you" it is from a position of "we fell for that already."

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Hard to Think

That Ron Paul is probably the great grandfather of this jerks kids!

hopefully his wife divorces him

he surely does not belong in the Ron Paul family tree. i'm sure some gop'ers were really proud of the great sabotage job that benton did on the ron paul campaign. where did that wormy jack hunter end up going after the campaign, by the way. he really stunk up the official ron paul website IMO

ecorob's picture

the gall of this...

cockbite is unbelievable!

what a turncoat!

was he EVER one of us?

i NEVER liked jesse bent on but i just figured out that he SOLD OUT Dr. RON Paul for longterm "swallowing"

please, Mrs. Benton, LEAVE this asswipe before he LEAVES you!

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...

9/11 Truth.

Well, his removes any doubt I had about him.

As more and more info appeared on him, the more I figured something was amiss. I wasnt terribly sure though even though I figured you(those stating against him) might be right about him. However, this removes all doubt.

I dont think he will ever have access to the grass roots again.

Even though the grass roots was a strong point for him, just by cutting him off wont completely remove him. He has shown that he is willing to do whatever. Yes-men are valuable in some ways, but famous yes-men, are alot more so.
He will likely end up rotating about Washington in various polical jobs now. He may not rise to the top, but middle or lower middle certainly isnt going to be bad for him.(bad for taxpayers) I am not sure what would be done to stop him though.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Makes sense.

He's got to butter up the boss because he somehow lost the inexplicably large band of political capital grassroots supporters that he and Wead claimed he rallied for his crazy kewl idea of having supporters participate in the delegate process (oh wait...that's right...he stole that idea from the Daily Paul...sshhhht).

Allegory, please elaborate

I have missed on some news. Could you please support your statement 'after Congress passed the "fiscal cliff" bill that will result in a paycheck reduction for just about everyone.' How much more taxes will a person with $50,000 salary pay now?

Social Security payroll deduction was reduced by 2% by Obama's stimulus package. The senate plan allowed the reduction to expire.

Take back the GOP and Restore America Now.

Warning was too late!

You warned us only at the end--it will make you sick, and it did!

What a toxic, sub-human, netherworld troll J.B. proves himself to be. Seriously? "Never more proud of a boss?" (His former boss being Dr. Ron Paul!) Never more proud after shifty RINO McConnell cut a "deal" with his good friend Joe Biden which gave Democrats all but a sliver of the tax increases they had demanded--on top of boosting, not cutting, spending?

Excepting his position on abortion McConnell is a neocon/neolib statist in every respect: pro-spending, pro-tax, pro-war, pro-welfare, pro-gun-control, pro-domestic-spying.

As I pledged to support Ron Paul for president, I now pledge to fight to elevate Rand Paul as senior senator from Kentucky, by donating as much as I can spare to the primary opponent of this evil old man.

#PurgeMcConnell in 2014!

I was one of the ones that was willing to give Jesse the benefit of doubt, well that just ran out!

What an outrageous insult to Ron Paul!!

There was no reason whatsoever to volunteer a comment comparing "bosses", unless the intent was malicious. How else can this be construed but as an uncalled for personal attack against Ron Paul?
