Jesse Benton: "I have never been more proud of a boss than I am of Senator McConnell right now."

From Economic Policy Journal:

After Mitch McConnell put together the Senate "fiscal cliff" bill that raised taxes for just about everyone, but gave $76 billion in tax breaks to a combination of Hollywood cronies and regular corporate cronies, Jesse Benton is out with a fundraising email for the "leadership" provided by McConnell during the fiscal cliff negotiations.

Here is the entire fundraising email. It did not come from The Onion. It is from Jesse "No Shame: Benton (My highlights), coming out just hours after Congress passed the "fiscal cliff" bill that will result in a paycheck reduction for just about everyone (except the cronies):

Subject: Score one for the good guys

Dear Patriot,

I have had the honor of working for some leaders I could really be proud to stand with. And let me tell you, I have never been more proud of a boss than I am of Senator McConnell right now.

Let me tell you why.

When Barack Obama won re-election in November, Obama decided he was willing to force the country off the fiscal cliff to push through his agenda. The result would be the largest tax increase in American history.

Unless Congress took action, everyone’s taxes were going up January 1st, big time. Middle class families across Kentucky and our country would have seen their first paychecks on January 15th literally hundreds of dollars smaller due to new federal income tax withholding.

I don’t know about you, but as a middle class working man raising a young family, I can ill afford Barack Obama reaching deeper into my pockets, and I’ll bet just about every Kentuckian feels the same way.

In the end, there is only one reason why Kentucky taxpayers avoided these tax hikes: Senator Mitch McConnell.

For two months, well-intentioned allies in the fight for smaller government attempted to thwart President Obama’s plan. But it wasn’t until Leader McConnell took the reins that real progress was made. He showed the strong, disciplined and savvy leadership that only he can provide. And, in the end, he ensured that over 99% percent of Kentuckians will not pay higher income taxes.

What’s also important to know is that he has put us on strong footing in the fight to cut spending.

You see, the fiscal cliff was a two-part problem, one of both taxes and spending. Leader McConnell wisely separated the two to put us on stronger footing in both. First he fought off President Obama’s tax hikes for as many Kentuckians as he could.

Now comes part two.

In order to keep spending, Congress must raise the federal debt limit in two months. Through his leadership, Senator McConnell has not only ensured that your taxes will not go up, he has taken the threat of income tax hikes totally off table for debt limit negotiations. Now, President Obama and his allies will not be able to threaten every American with higher taxes as we fight for spending restraint and entitlement reform.

And let me tell you, I know Senator McConnell will be as rock solid and resolute in that fight as he was in protecting our paychecks.

Senator McConnell is a special leader and we can all be proud of what he just did for us. I hope you will stand with him now and in the coming months. If you are able, please help with a contribution of $50, $100, $250 or even $500 today.

If we come together and stand with Leader McConnell, we can get this country back on track. So, make sure to forward this email to your friends and neighbors to let them know that Mitch McConnell just saved their paychecks. Help us spread the word Facebook and Twitter. And please, if you can, help us with your generous contribution right away.

Thank you,

Jesse Benton

Uh, did Bent On...

read his father-in-law's opinion of this mess?

Actually folks, I'm ECSTATIC that Bent On is now an official mouthpiece for McCONnell. The sooner he finds out that Bent On can draw NO ONE new to his ranks and ZERO $$, the sooner Judas, er Jesse is out on his keister.

The best thing is for crickets to chirp in response to this missive. How much attention would he receive if he'd never been a part of Ron Paul's campaign? Okay then, that's how much he should get now.....

chirp, chirp . . . . . . .

What's wierd are the lies

Why does he say Obama wanted to raise taxes on most people? Didn't the Democrat starting position exclude tax increases on people below 250K? Wasn't the payroll tax increase something that happened after negotiations with Republicans started?

I doubted you guys for the longest time

Maybe it could be considered denial. But you were right about Jesse Benton. He is starting to look more like a self serving snake.

"Willful Blindness"

Snakes in the grass need to

Snakes in the grass need to be flushed out early and often.

I think that

He should be run over by an "unspecting person" with a lawnmower. Grass snakes do not stand out. Snake in the grass anyone? anyone?

Laurelai

I believe it's become

I believe it's become undeniably clear he's a traitor at this point.

However, I stand by the fact that I defended him earlier on. There simply was not enough evidence in the public light, and most of the accusers were simply not being civil. People had hunches that turned out to be right, that doesn't mean it's right to judge someone on a hunch.

There are people who, even now, as it has become abundantly clear that he is not with us, will not believe he is a bad guy. And that is because they've already formed their opinions as a result of blowback from early unwarranted accusations and incivility (ie, boy who cried wolf).

Who cares about Benton

he is a non-issue!

The man is...

...undoubtedly an unrepentant sinner imo.

donvino

I have never...

I have never been more repulsed by and disgusted of a political charlatan than I am of Jesse Benton right now. -Me

Jesse = POS

While there was much hand-wringing over the “draconian” cuts that would be imposed by sequestration, in fact sequestration does not cut spending at all. Under the sequestration plan, government spending will increase by 1.6 trillion over the next eight years. Congress calls this a cut because without sequestration spending will increase by 1.7 trillion over the same time frame. Either way it is an increase in spending. - Ron Paul
FU Jesse you disgusting fat slug. Same for your turtle head 'boss'.

Does

McConnell remind anyone else of "Tippy the turtle?"

Remember the ads for the art school where you tried to draw Tippy and then sent it in?

I think the best option would be to find a candidate to run, and put the full weight of the National grassroots against JB and Tippy's reelection campaign. I wouldn't mind seeing that guy OOO. (out of office)

Hey jefferson.....

How was the New Years festivities?
Here's another Mitch pic for your files.
Cheers!

Priceless!

My favorite comment:
"That Joker looks like a Parakeet!"

I lol'd..

New Year's Eve hoedown was postponed until tomorrow night. The weather was just too bad. You guys are still welcome to come out, if you're not doing your early Saturday AM thingy. I plan to be home by 11. Let me know. My house flooded and I'm having to put my tenants up in a hotel while the remediation guys are there. Been a busy week. Luckily I had insurance.

Have your people call/fax/email/text/tweet my people, and we'll have our peoples get together....8)
Cheers!

lol

We were thinking the same thing when we commented. I wasn't thinking of Tippy in particular, but definately a turtle head. But yeah, Tippy works fine. lol

What a putz.

What a putz.

LINO Alert!

LINO Alert!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Seriously

common wtf jesse... im totally down with the tar and feather idea, or maybe take a page from peta and toss animal blood on him since he obviously willing to risk spilling everyone elses for personal gain.

meow

Do we have a liberty

Do we have a liberty candidate in McConnell's district for that seat in 2014?

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

Mitch is Senior Senator from Kentucky.

It would be sad if he could successfully market this statist neocon flunky as anything but what his record proves.

Nothing mitch has ever voted for protected or defended the Constitution, to the contrary.

Free includes debt-free!

Kentucky will probably

vote Democrat for his seat if Ashley Judd runs against him. That ought to be like having Rosie O'Donnell for a President, but much more likely to occur.

Somebody really ought to tar & feather the traitor

That is what happened to Nazi collaborators at the end of WW2.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

My dream

it's a small dream. But after all the sand Juicy Buttwad, erm sorry I mean Jesse BentOn has kicked in the face of Ron and his supporters, I would get a small joy in seeing the grandaughter of Ron Paul divorce him and make a spectacle of him in some way in the process.

Revenge bad? Yeah, it's just a small insignificant dream like I said.

Add brown-nosing to Benton's list of unsavory characteristics ...

Unfortunately, sky-rocketing taxes and sequestration ARE needed to slap the American people out of their stupor and get their attention.

He signed the bill, didn't he?

He also said he would veto the NDAA. He lied and signed it, then said that it wouldn't be enforced. Then he sent his lawyers out to do just that. Face it, Obama is a liar.

What bill did he sign that

What bill did he sign that raised taxes on the 99%?

Wow, you are blind. Jesse

Wow, you are blind.

Jesse Benton claimed that his boss prevented Obama from raising taxes on the 99%. But Obama did not want to raise taxes on the 99%. It was that 1% he was concerned with.
