"Pow!" You're expelled, kid! Rotten 6-year old - what is wrong with you?

SILVER SPRING, Md., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- A Maryland 6-year-old was suspended from school for forming the shape of a gun with his hands and saying "pow," a lawyer for his family said.

Robin Ficker said a boy, a student at Roscoe R. Nix Elementary School in Silver Spring, was given a one-day suspension from school with a conference planned for when students returned from winter break for the pretend shooting a week after 20 children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., The (Springfield, Va.) Washington Examiner reported Wednesday.

"What they're doing is looking at the worst possible interpretation of a young, naive 6-year-old," Ficker said. "This is a little child who can't form the intent to do anything like that."

Assistant Principal Renee Garraway sent a letter to the boy's parents saying the child had been warned.

"Your son ... was involved in a serious incident," Garraway wrote. "(He) threatened to shoot a student. He was spoken to earlier today about a similar incident."

Is the family's lawyer the famous NBA heckler

and free speech advocate Robin Ficker?

Good thing he wasn't playing TSA.

Might've ended up with him on a sex offender registry.

Or playing "angry school board member"

Like this one who ran into a student on purpose, with her SUV, in a Wal-mart parking lot;

Had this been the other way around and the student intentionally rammed the school board member, I have a feeling the charges against the student would've been more severe.

Uh huh

Like, if the student were playing with dolls and cars at school, and she pretended to have a car run over a school board member doll...

I think they'd have her arrested and locked up, just for pretending that.

If actions like these hasten

If actions like these hasten any simmering decisions to end public schools altogether, I'm in favor.

So much for playing...

cowboys and indians. BTW, my grandfather was full blood Choctaw, so I don't want to hear anything about sensitivity to Native Americans. I stilled played that game as a child.

I'd sue if I received a letter like that for this reason.

And I really believe in avoiding court insofar as possible, but that will go in the child's record and those @ssholes in administration of the school need to be held personally responsible as well as the district for besmirching an innocent child on record.

Wouldn't the state support this behavior?

Don't you think the federal government wants our children to be indoctrined with violence and combat mentality? How else are they to find new recruits as the wars continue?

More people should homeschool their kids. It's unconscionable to subject children to the threat of things like this happening. One innocent mistake and the programming of "You are a no good, potential criminal" begins.

A Better Headline...

"Eight Year Old Released From Prison" (Why is everyone outraged that this young child is no longer suffering state indoctrination in the mentally toxic public school environment?)

In the 50's I remember boys playing

bombs over Tokyo in the front yard. They made machine gun noises all the time. My grandma told me that during WW1 boys played trench warfare. They did these activities at school, too, and no one batted an eyelash.

I wonder what they played in

I wonder what they played in the Middle Ages? "Behead the serf"? LOL

Hehe. I once made a gun

I once made a gun shaped object out of legos during a play period back in pre-k or something and pointed it at a student and the teacher just told me to take it apart.

Let's TP that school!

I say either blow it up

and bulldoze it away so that no kids will be there again or turn it into a private school. I'm against the presence of kids in government schools, period.

Ok I just got to say this

We have all seen ridiculous witch hunting reactions by schools all over this country. It is escalating. There was one the other day about the young girl that wrote the poem about the Conn Shooting.

The first mistake we make is to try to make excuses for these kids actions. The minute we do this we are now attempting to defend a behavior. We are now on the defense. The truth is these kids do not need defending because they have NOTHING WRONG.

As far as i am concerned the schools are reacting this way for a very specific reason. They are attempting to instill fear into these students to be aware of every thing they write, say, or even think. That is the purpose of this crazy shit.

These are witch hunts. They are looking for anything they can interpret as POTENTIAL aggressive behaviors. The more we try to explain it away the more we feed these lunatics.

Just my 2 Cents.

Meanwhile the DoD

subsidizes the violent video game industry. How many young children go home from school to legally, and with government support no less, mock-shoot people all afternoon?

This type of activity occured about every 6 seconds

when I was in elementary school.

If anyone thinks any progress in society or our gov't can be made without re-securing our LOCAL schools from Federal Democratic and Republican (sic) socialists, think again.

Imagine for a moment that your County School Board's Mission was to Compliment YOUR Responsibility to Raise YOUR children to maturity and Independence.

A Critical Thinking Education where they Learn how to Learn and can easily discern fact from fiction. Where they learn for 12 years that, for the most part, Adults are people who are able to take care of themselves and their own children.

This type of education is not some impossible dream, the only reason it is not prevalent today is that it is simply not being done.

Make believe

When I was in school, the principal could tell the difference between make believe and reality.

Maybe he's just imitating the

Maybe he's just imitating the cops, lol.

If they don't want a 6 year old at school, I say oblige them. Homeschooling FTW!!!

"I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual."

I'm surprised police didn't use this as an excuse to search.

Every cop around here now seems to think that it is their duty to confiscate all weapons from the parents the moment something like this happens.

They obtain warrants and remove all guns from the premisses regardless of who owns them.

The idiots are about to take this one step too far.

They will make shooters out of otherwise decent people... People who are simply demanding their natural and constitutional rights.

Just maybe, he saw too much gun violence on prime time TV, and in the movies. And maybe, he imitated that because he sees it everywhere.

His only crime is that he hasn't learned that there are certain things in certain places that you don't do. Obviously, and honest kid mistake. At 6, they don't even have fully functioning brains yet!

What's next, a prison sentence for him? Should we try him as an adult? Would the death penalty be too much to consider?

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

Ex-post Facto

It is unconstitutional to try children as adults. Making a child-crime an adult crime after the fact is prohibited by the Constitution ("ex-post facto").

Because their brains are immature, they do need a different standard (obviously, a toddler will steal anything they can get their hands on, and some teens aren't much better). Prosecutors always take the least mature, least socially developed, and worst parented children to try as adults, rather than trying the most mature, best socially developed children to try as adults. It makes no sense whatsoever.

It is critical to serve on juries if you want to make a difference and keep the politically-motivated prosecutors from ruining the lives of children.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

of being politically incorrect.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

that describes the behavior most 6 yo boys throughout history.

Wonder if they will make a private juvenile internment camp to house these delinquents and keep society safe?
