Why is Safeway financing a Gun Buy back program?

LOCAL GROCERY STORE FINANCES GOVT GUN BUYOUT IN TUCSON ARIZONA.

I asked them (3) simple questions and got a reply that included no answers.

1)What data has been utilized in Safeway's decision to support gun buy back programs?
2) Does the board back this proposal unanimously?
3) Will Safeway rescind it's offer to provide material support for gun buy back programs?

To whom it may concern.

I am a Marine and currently serve as the 3rd Vice chair for the Legislative District 26 Republican Party. It has come to my attention that Safeway is materially supporting Councilman Steven Kozachik’s plan to buyback firearms.

It is my opinion that this is a very near sighted and unpatriotic effort.

It is understandable that Safeway would participate given the incredible media hype around the recent Sandy Hook shooting and the rabid like notion that firearms are illegal. I would like to offer some statistical evidence that would show the contrary however. Please do review this data. In my business I always use data to support operational enhancements as well as investments. Data is the only objective tool we ultimately have to work with.

Chicago
Chicago recently surpassed its 500th homicide for 2012.
http://homicides.redeyechicago.com/
Chicago has very tough gun control laws yet somehow the criminals still have them.
Many of these victims are children, yet the Media does not seem to notice this carnage.

Washington D.C.
Washington D.C. has 542 crimes per square mile the national median is 39.6 crimes per square mile. This include NYC, LA and other large metropolitan areas.
Washington DC has very tough gun laws and a very heavy law enforcement presence.
Violent crime so far this year in the District has spiked sharply — a 40 percent increase that includes twice as many robberies at gunpoint than at this time last year.

Mexico
Mexico does not have a Second Amendment in fact it is illegal to own a firearm of more than .22 caliber there.
There is now only one legal gun store in Mexico -- in Mexico City -- and buyers must wait months for approval of purchase from the Ministry of Defense. Purchases are limited to small caliber, non-military weapons that must be kept at home; semi-automatic weapons are only sold to military and police. After the 1960s, Mexican law was changed to prohibit private citizens from openly carrying a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon.
Yet Mexico has been wracked by violence for years as its citizens are slaughtered.

Australia
Let’s look at Australia where they instituted a mandatory gun buy back program in 1997.
There is data that suggests crime has risen in Austrailia since the Gun ban. However the crime had been rising at close to the the same rate for the previous decade so it is unfair to state that the gun ban directly created a rise in crime. What is fair to state is the Gun ban did not reduce crime.
But these changes have done nothing to reduce gun-related deaths, according to Samara McPhedran, a University of Sydney academic and coauthor of a soon-to-be-published paper that reviews a selection of previous studies on the effects of the 1996 legislation. The conclusions of these studies were "all over the place," says McPhedran. But by pulling back and looking purely at the statistics, the answer "is there in black and white," she says. "The hypothesis that the removal of a large number of firearms owned by civilians [would lead to fewer gun-related deaths] is not borne out by the evidence.

It is a fair notion to consider that if guns are banned there will be less violence or even less gun violence. However there is no statistical data to show this; it is simply a convenient argument. I am certain that Safeway has the correct intentions in helping to purge our society of violence. However the action Safeway is embarking upon, as I am able to see, is not supported by any data. History shows us that when the people are disarmed they are abused. Please rescind your material support for this program. If Councilman Kozachick wishes to buy guns back he can do so with his own money.

I do have a few direct questions I would appreciate responses to so that I may share them with my constituents.
What data has been utilized in Safeway's decision to support gun buy back programs?
Does the board back this proposal unanimously?
Will Safeway rescind it's offer to provide material support for gun buy back programs?

Personally, I have an email distribution list of roughly 6,000 Arizonans. I will be sure to pass on your comments to them and keep them in the loop as to what Safeway’s plans are regarding Councilman Kozachick’s gun buy back initiative.

I look forward to your reply and hope to assure my constituents of the care and concern Safeway has for its customers safety.

my take:

they've had meetings with politicians and an agreement was made in which they finance the program and they get something back. obviously something more profitable than anything lost in the buyback program.

bingobangobongo, govt has less guns to worry about and doesn't have to deal with political pressures surrounding financing a program itself. safeway has found a safe way securing legislation, tax breaks, etc..

& you don't want a "gun-ban" if you want the govt armed..
that's just called disarming the citizens.

Safeway also Backed Monsanto

in California and helped vote down legislation calling for all foods that contain GMO be labelled.

Safeway, Kroger, et al are Federal Reserve members.

The are guaranteed 6% Profit on paid in reserves after expenses by Congress.

The buyback program is a deductible expense. Anything over 6% profit is paid to the Treasury as a franchise tax. It's all in the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. Hidden in plain sight in a trash heap of legal jargon.

AND....

All in bed. Ever notice how they (i.e. big corps) all stick together.

They're all buying from "within the circle".

Go in and notice. The same brands are at the other big stores, just sometimes they change the lable....

"within the circle"

The Controller of the Currency at the US Treasury tracks the paid in reserves and issues the stocks. It's in the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

That "circle" is the adversary of the free market.

Hi there dailypauler!

Did you recover your data? A farm friend asked me about digesters?

Free includes debt-free!

Hey....

No hate to admit it, but I tried to "do it myself" and.....

My friend's still gonna look at it, but gettin the timming right for the both of us has been hard to schedual....

And the biodigester.....

Didn't produce a dang thang. BUT, I was trying to make some salt-fermented foods recently and used a head of cabbage in the "salad" AND that thing gassed like crazy.....

Just haven't had time to do any more biodigesting. BUT I know it works, just gettin it down....

Until next time,
Alkaseltzer!

No. Scratch that. That's made by Bayer......

P.S.
And that circle's got legs. 8 of em to be exact.

SpinRite (http[://www.grc.com

SpinRite ( http://www.grc.com $80, money back guarantee) Stabilize the drive before you do anything else.

Once the drive is stabilized you may be able to read the files.

If not there is a program that can read the raw files data. http://www.krollontrack.com/data-recovery.

I have the software.

The critters in the digester are your livestock. They need proper nutrition to maximize conversion of waste into methane. As your anecdote of the cabbage seems to indicate. Cabbage is rich in sulfur. Was it deficient in your digester?

Too bad that MSM's commentary is just hot air and unfit for the digester.

Thanks again.....

Thanks for the spinRite reference. Don't know when I can get around to that one yet (juggeling tooo many balls these days), but some day....

Anywayz, I dunno if I had cabbage in the last batch or not. But it was all fruit and veg matter. The one mistake I think I made tho was I put vinagar in it, thinking that would help break it down. I heard later that it impeeds? I dunno, logically sounds good, but didn't appear to?

Got to get to playing around with it summore.

Ralphs

In CA Ralph's is known for sponsoring gun buy backs. This is a concise letter, hope you get a response. For now as the poster below stated I would avoid giving Safeway your money, and as I stated earlier for those of you in the CA area, Ralphs had a hand in some of the recent gun buy back programs there.

Dont ......

Don't play cards (i.e. gamble) to eat.

Anyone buying products at the big corporate Safeway is taking support away from the good guys.

There "discount cards" are data-mining you. Not to mention that the costs of their card program, which is spreading, is jacking up prices "Big Time" with any other stores that buy into that system.

Don't play cards to eat. Starve the beast, NOT the people!
