Ron Paul on Neil Cavuto: I Don't Find Optimism in Washington - 1/4/13

Ron Paul was on with Fox Business' Neil Cavuto for his first interview since leaving Congress. Cavuto was very respectful and complimenting.

How To Fix Congress

This is an e-mail sent to me.

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "Y...ou just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,
cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will
have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed
around.

Congressional Reform Act of 2012* *(It would now have to be 2013)

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive
the message. Don't you think it's time?

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

If you agree, pass it on in an e-mail to at least twenty people..

No pay rise

Why should congressional pay increase by 3% per year? They should feel the full burden of inflation, then they may do something about it. The pay could also be based on economic outcomes.

I wish he would run for Gov. of Texas.

I wish. . .

Debbie

I mean this from the bottom of my heart...

God, please bless Ron Paul.

Somehow, someway...

I wish Ron Paul had his own show on cable or online. He could invite guest that disagree with him to debate the issues.

As time goes by, everything this man has said will come to fruition. It would be great if his message could continue to be heard on a broad scale. As things become worse, maybe people will start to listen and change.

I'm not going to hold my breath but it would be nice.

You idiots deserve to be scammed!

Neil Cavuto was one of the many propagandists blacking out RP during the 2008 and 2012 elections, smearing Ron Paul with the "racist" attacks, distorting RP's positions whilst promoting criminal voMitt, and worst of all, complicit in the criminal cover-up of the massive election fraud which stole RP's victory.

Now that RP has been defeated and rendered an impotent muppet, Cavuto jumps on board to increase his ratings and make more money (further exploting you all) and like a marauding mass of pacified idiots you gullible little morons 'forgive' and support him (just like Obama supporters would).

Idiots like you deserve to be scammed over and over (and you will be). Just like a cow "created to nourish you", you're just a dumb political farm animal to be herded, branded, exploited, scammed, raped, traded and marched off to the slaughter.

There's no hope, you're all too incredibly naive, weak and gullible to out-think your retarded predators and wilfully permit yourselves to be politically raped over and over.

Good riddance!

If my need to be RIGHT is greater than my desire for TRUTH, then I will not recognize it when it arrives ~ Libertybelle

Ron Paul knows envy is an enemy of liberty.

4:19 - "Envy is driven by destroying the people who are successful, not really helping the people. It doesn't help obviously the people they're taking the money from, but it doesn't help the people who're taking it... Too often people are driven by envy."

Ron Paul gets it. He knows the difference between envy and desire. Some people don't. :P

Envy is a destroyers path to equality, and covetous people always get what's justly coming to them.

Thank you Neil.

I understand the pressure from above.

You have just elevated the man that could have given this country (world) a chance.

It must have been a bummer for him knowing this a year ago!

out of all the idiots at Fox

out of all the idiots at Fox News, Neil is the only one I can stand to even hear breathe let alone speak. From the sound of his opener, he truly respects Dr. Paul and my Kudos to them both

+1 Neil Cavuto

It was a cold, snow floating, bone chilling winter night only but a year ago. I walked in through the back door and made may way into the basement for warmth. Unbuttoned and unzipped the heavy coat, removed the soaking and near frozen tipped gloves, and stepped away from frost bitten shoes - I turned on the television.

There, it was Neil, covering a story that seemed otherwise meaningless to any significant consequence. I thought for a moment to switch the channel, find something more amusing and a better approach of used time. Suddenly, there was an interview coming up next that I was told I could not miss.

Foolishly, in a gullible manner, I made my wait just to see. Who, what I might find? It was Dr. Ron Paul. Who? I never heard of him before.

My life changed that night, a fire was lit inside my being and I never knew the meaning of cold again. A torch shown new ways upon a decade long path. Alone for so long, lost in a drift of confusion, there were the shadows of others, flickering, dancing, with the flame.

...

Ron made Neil be honest, I thank Neil for fulfilling the task.

They that give up liberty for security deserve neither.

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

Splitting hairs but,,,

I may be splitting hairs on this but I wish Ron would have hit on his oft told explanation and differentiation of "wealth acquired with government graft and collusion vs wealth acquired from hard work and production", when he was talking about free markets, capitalism and envy. I have heard him many times get that point out in his explanations. Would have fit well here as well.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

I have an idea Neil. Since you acknowledge Ron's intellect is

superior, why don't you just step down and let Ron take your show so more knowledge and truth could be disseminated to the people in one show than you do in an entire month?

beephree

because Ron has INTEGRITY....

....Ron is not in the game of selling "hope" that our nation is on the top of a pyramid scheme, and won't allow those who vote for the 30-40 year same 'ol Amway management would ensure "we" won't get hurt by those they are in business to hurt....

Wonderful interview! I have

Wonderful interview! I have always felt Neal was one of his fairest interviewers and even urged him to run for President. I am also SO glad he did not do this interview with anyone else, because then it would not have been such a delight to watch.

idiot

dumb SHEEPLE.....

...the neo-con game is to say "we're not satisfied with the republicans compromise....we want more.cuts....we like Rand Paul..."; whatever it takes to keep their straight-party voters "hopeful"....

All those buying the neo-con ruse are MORONS; it's too painful to admit you believe liars, and, that you ONLY vote for your own personal interests which are subsidized by central government!

As I just told my neo-con buddy here in Chicagoland, who just conceded he talks out of both sides of his mouth....

"Taxes on people making between $30,000-$200,000 are going up 1.7% under the fiscal cliff bill.....Ron Paul(retired) is the ONLY ONE talking about the hidden tax of INFLATION....if gas goes back to $4.25/gallon, from $3.50 .... That's 21.429% increase, plus all the other things you know it affects, plus we already pay 10% illinois sales tax, which...how the F is anyone supposed to ???? As Ron Paul said, this isn't the fiscal cliff; this is now not only possible, but permanent because we went over the cliff a long time ago!!! Oh, I forgot, and don't forget, Obamacare is also nothing more than a TAX!!!"

Stupid neo-cons do not understand, bondage to taxation in a no growth econony is tyranny; but, since.Mark Levin wrote a book with the word "tyranny" in the title; there's no possible way Republicans are perpetuating the tyranny by shutting out Ron Paul Republicans when they're not campaigning against them with establishment.dollars!

Next step....REBATES from government, or health insurance companies, so morons can go to Best Buy and buy a flat screen HDTV and cable to distract themselves as we enter the permanent no-growth, individualism-destroying transition to global central-planning government.

They love him now that he's retired

They couldn't wait to start calling him "former congressman".

LIBERTY2ME's picture

I think we are going to see a

I think we are going to see a lot more of this because the "higher ups" have backed off now that RP is no longer a threat to them or their precious election. Now the poeple who really supported RP behind the scenes will step forward because they can. And it is really disgusting.

Hmm, careful on the Cavuto praise...

Has he honestly seen the light on austrian economics and liberty? If so, great!

Or, did he just so happen to come "full circle" conveniently after Paul's political career wrapped up? Now that Paul is retired and not a visible threat to the establishment, Cavuto vomits up the praise. We all follow the campaign for liberty. The average Fox News neocon does not. Looks like they'll treat him like a smart old grandfather that they always supported, so when the SHTF Fox can say, "see we told you so" when in reality they helped stifle Paul.

Yes its good press. Yes exposure to the neocon crowd will help. Yes Cavuto has always been more open to Paul than the others.

I just think it stinks to high heaven that the epiphany to fully embrace Paul waits until his first week of retirement.

I've got to say I was pretty

I've got to say I was pretty skeptical as well. I stopped paying attention to Cavuto about 3 years ago when he was demanding the government step in because some airline was charging for carry-ons (Free market his "entire career" as he put it in this video?)

Also Cavuto's praise (maybe flattery would be a better word) for Ron Paul was excessive to the point that it seemed contrived.

Put me on board with this

Put me on board with this assessment... With, a touch more ire.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

Yeah, I'm highly skeptical too

Cavuto definitely does treat Dr. Paul better than most in the MSM but that doesn't mean he's "trustable". Someone commenting on the video made the point that Dr. Paul is always on Fox Business but never on Fox (where the real viewers are).

Agree - I remember during the primary Cavuto was quick to

cut RP off during interviews, was uptight and uncomfortable - whether it was his nature or pressure from above, who knows.

I might

have to start tuning into cavuto more regularly.

SteveMT's picture

I watched this interview again. It's that good!

Without Ron Paul, Congress no longer has this man with the strict Liberty compass who always was pointing directly at the Constitution with every word spoken and with every vote cast. Sad.

SteveMT's picture

Nice to see Cavuto pay homage to Ron Paul like this,...

and on Fox News. Cavuto knows the truth. Thanks for posting.
