I've been watching the news, pretty much all day for the past week. I work from home and have the ability to watch tv while I work.
I am convinced that Ron Paul has been erased.
They talk about McCain, Huck, Romney, and even Rudy and Thompson constantly. There has been ZERO and I mean not even 1 mention of Ron Paul at all on MSNBC, CNN or Fox.
If I was an ordinary voter, I would have assumed he dropped out about now.

Reason just shot ITSELF & the Libertarian cause in the foot

By labeling Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell, Murray Rothbard as racists and anti-gay they have smeared libertarianism and themselves too over at Reason.
The Market for Libertarianism was climbing fast in popularity, gaining new people by the thousands buying the books and reading the philosophy, but 3 months ago Reason "broke" the story....and then followed it up just recently in January 08. Oh how those writers like to get everything "out", except themselves.
Good going Reason..(NOT!)...
Now lets see, the next time someone says, Earth to REASON, ...."mmmmm lets privatize the Roads like the article over at Reason suggests..." they are sure to be met with, "Oh come on, not one of those crazy lunitic loopy fringe racisit LIBERTARIAN ideas again! "
The damage that those two happy writers over at Reason have done to the libertarian movement is horrible and will last a long long time.... The short hand everywhere will be ...Libertarians are Racists, Period. End of discussion.

Nor will those two pukes "come out" and discuss what really pisses them off, nor will they use REASON and DISCUSS the remarks to see if they are indeed racists, homophobic, and so forth...or just plain old NON PC kind of talking ...which is what I submit it is....Now the buzz, the "anti-Ron Paul buzz, has gone from Freedom Lover Peace Lover to black and gay hater, yet nothing could be further from the truth, and reason knows it, as they sum it up in the end of thier own little "outing". Now the buzz is he has been this way not just one or two articles, but the whole 80's and 90's decade....Gee, with friends like these, libertarians don't need enemies....
The fact is that the "Ron Paul Political Report" was punditry, like you get from Hanity and Rush like them was certainly not PC, which I welcomed as refreshing ..... I certainly was shocked and thankful for a 100% different take on the whole LA riots and Rodney King beating....before I read the essay in 92 I was hating the cops, calling them facists and racists too... go figure. It took the Ron Paul letter to paint the WHOLE picture, tell the WHOLE story. The article attacks MSM mostly, for editing the entire Rodney King beating and trial and riots.... and fingers them ....MSM...as GUILTY (and city mayor for his words too) for the resulting riots....... The whole MSM spin...and I mean SPIN...took a Ron Paul Political report to set the record straight, pulling no punches and even puncing back... not with racism, but straight talk, non PC style.
,...but that is a lot different than truely BEING a racist, as in believing one race is superior to the other and only for one race or for only one racial ethnic group BECAUSE of its race. Reason writers never discuss this... its just automatically without discussion racist.... To say the riots ended because in LA because they had to go get their welfare checks, considering the neighborhood in question, the income level, the welfare level, the fact of the LA riots themselves, that may very well be a true statement. What did end the riots? Submit your theory here Reason writers....come out of the closet, tell us what you really think.
Nevetheless, with "friends" like Reason, the Libertarian movement is sure NOT to move very far.

Ron Paul NEEDS to book his own Air Time on TV!
I like the idea of Ron Paul buying some prime-time TV minutes on a major channel (PBS,NBC.ABC,CBS, etc.) and doing a Ross Perot-like summary of the State of the Union and how Paul's candidacy addresses our major problems.
He is going to have trouble getting into anymore debates at this point (as we have seen with Dennis Kucinich), and with the Primaries now bunched together so closely, retail street politiking isn't going to get you anywhere.
It's time for a TV blitz to overcome the lack of coverage and lack of attention that has been going on (and will continue), to awaken the larger segment of the population who are not YouTube junkies.
Is the campaign going to do something like this?
It's time to put all those millions of $$ to real use and take control of public perceptions.
Time is running out on us and Paul needs to start swinging for the fences.

Figure they *know* RP has the money bc of his awesome fundraising, so they will force him to spend it with them instead of giving him *free* time like they do with the others.
One problem is... many of us are convinced that not only is the MSM biased as heck (and controlled by govt/corps), but that it really is antiquated & its importance needs to be diminish... why prove our hypothesis wrong by making the "old,corporate media" matter?

There is only a very small segment of the population that are dedicated YouTube junkies and diligent Internet Blog/News researchers out there to even know anything at all about Dr. Ron Paul.
The truth is that the importance of the MSM cannot be disregarded in terms of its broad outreach into millions & millions of homes. Virtually everyone in the Nation has a TV. Like it or not, they do, in fact, get most of their News from the TV (along with a little influence from Newspaper headlines or Radio as well).
The Internet simply does not hold a candle to the bright lights of the multi-million head mass Television market. So, the point here is that time is running out. The vast majority of people vote for establishment candidates because that's all they either hear or know about.
Ron Paul and his campaign needs to recognize that the moment here may just pass him by if he does not capitalize on the 4th-Quarter fundraising success (which may never be duplicated ever again) and do something big with it -- that will create a million-person outreach and force his message into people's livingrooms and kitchen tables.
I would buy a 10-minute slot of major Network broadcast time (as Ross Perot did), and do a similar presentation before America. It would succeed in educating the population about things they don't know about (Central Bank Monopoly, CIA overthrow of Iran, etc.) and put Ron Paul's name & face out there in a memorable way as the man on the TV.
This is how you change the dynamics of the race.
It won't happen by YouTube or by lawn signs alone.
An unbrainwashing offensive must be started to overcome the rigged-environment that has been setup by the MSM and which has indeed succeeded in ramming down out throats only establishement candidates.
Ross Perot used this technique to win a whopping 19% on an fringe Independent ticket. Ron Paul could double that success with his name appearing on the GOP ticket.
Let's stop waiting around for miracles here.
Let's take control of the airwaves with that $20 million and fix the problem!

It is appearing more clearer to me as each day passes that RP Supporters keep bringing up the negatives of Ron Paul which really aren't their they are merely attacks, lies, misleading, etc... but each time a RP Supporter clicks on that website or any website that's sole purpose is to spread lies and smear RP is NOT helpful to RP. Each time the website gets a hit the ticker goes on and whichever gets hit the most appears closer to the top. Which is why we should be focusing on the positives and hitting the positive sites that so they stay on top. Remember, us RP Supporters rule the net so when a negative, smear site appears on the top of Google it is the fault of RP Supporters, since we of all the candidates' fans and ultimately we are pushing and continueing to allow the negative and smear attacks against the one we support the most. We Rule the Net and we should ALL make it a habit of making sure Ron Paul's messege stays positive and at the top of ALL engine searches.
