Fragmentation of Iowa GOP Goes Beyond Just Ron Paul Supporters

TDes Moines Register political reporter Jennifer Jacobs had an interesting and important article on Jan. 4 (“Donation Drop Sign of Trouble for Iowa GOP?”). The gist of it was: “Financial support to the Republican Party of Iowa slumped in 2012, leaving some Republicans concerned about the future of an organization that’s supposed to be the guiding force in helping the GOP win elections and preserve the state’s first-in-the-nation caucuses.”

She reports that the Iowa GOP has seen a 43 percent decline in individual donations in 2012. This is important because it reflects more than just a cash flow problem.

Every Republican I have spoken to or corresponded with agrees that there are rifts in the Grand Old Party, not just in Iowa but nationally. These divisions have led to anger.

Sounds to me the Register is trying to create problems for the

party that don't exist. Examining only one account while their are four bank accounts, etc.
