Discussion/Plan "So they say Ron Paul supporter controlled GOPs can't make money' MONEYBOMB

Ron Paul R3VOLution Lives MONEYBOMB

On the heels of stories saying Ron Paul supporters are dangerous controlling state GOPs because corporatist donors who expect to buy politicians won't give money (well, they put it a little differently) some of us were discussing having a money bomb to support 'our' GOPs (or pacs to make GOPs responsive to our grass roots in the states where we just barely missed enough votes to make them ours.) http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20130104/NEWS09/301...

The rough idea is a facebook page or web page (depending on what we can get up) where on a particular day people donate to the Ron Paul supporter controlled GOP chapter of their choice, such as Iowa, Nevada, etc or maybe to pacs supporting our candidates and party participation efforts in states where we barely missed taking the party (Maine, etc.) Maybe even to county chapters we won in states we didn't. (Parts of Missouri? etc.)

All of these entities chosen would be on a web page or facebook page and donations would be made through links on that page. I'm hoping someone would step up to create the ticker to count the total going to 'our' GOPs, but as the lowest tech alternative we could just go to 'our' parties and ask them to let us know a few times a day how much they got in donations. The bells and whistles would depend on how much support, tech-wise and organization wise, we put behind it.

There was enough support for this when I made a comment about it in some threads yesterday, here and at RPF, that I thought it was worth starting a thread for people to say if they would support it with time/money and to get ideas to make it better.

Thoughts?

I would financially

support a true liberty GOP organization. But, I would think this is possible FIRST by creating a sub group and financially supporting them. For example, a "Iowa Liberty GOP" (or whatever you want to call it) group could be funded and then when funded, they could fund directly to the candidates, advertising, etc. Seems like that might give them more power.

Great idea

We need to do Iowa in q1. We have to support these guys

How about a series of state specific MBs?

I think we should do one state at a time. Start with Iowa, so we can get a big number and show that the National movement will help State movements.

We can then do one for Nevada the next month, and Maine the next. I think just those three would be incredible effective.

I think people should give feedback on this

I was thinking people might be more enthusiastic about one than another and we'd get a bigger total letting people pick. What if someone from Maine really thought they were a heartbeat from taking that, or someone from MN thought with their financial trouble it made no sense donating out of state when they needed money there?

Those focusing on 2016 might focus more on Iowa, and those focusing on individual candidates in 2014 might aim at other states. I was trying to pick up everyone, for the overall impact that having Ron Paul supporters included in your state GOP is a good thing. I was also concerned that a series of moneybombs would pale after the first couple, and that one big one might get more involved.

But since the goal IS to get more involved, maybe people should say which would more motivate them. For me, it is the multi chapter moneybomb, but the consensus may be otherwise when all is said and done.

If people express their opinion on that, that would be great.

Not only provide them money

But voice facts strongly to the brainwashed. Number one enemy of the country is the news stations. Shut them down.

Roads have them...

I would change the name though to Republican chapters. I think it is the "GOP" that is suffocating the Liberty movement and ideology of the true Republican party. GOP reflects an establishment of the grand ole party that needs to be removed (IMO)."

That's a great idea, I don't care about 'GOP' as a name, I just want to send the message they aren't getting rid of us that easy and have to take our candidates and issues seriously -- by funding our chapters.

someone else posted a similar thread just for Iowa, but I

was thinking for all 'our' gop's, it would also give the message that we carry our weight in state Gop's we don't YET have full influence in, I thought. Here is the other thread: http://www.dailypaul.com/268711/iowa-republican-money-bomb#c...

We need to get our tech

We need to get our tech people on to promote this. This is one of the most important things we can do to further our influence in the GOP: show that when liberty-minded folk achieve leadership status that we can bring loot to the table. Unfortunately, as our movement matures the more it will be on us to fund state parties and not just wait for elections. We're buying our ideas into one of the major parties and our influence will decide what candidates run where and have more supervision over those running for reelection. Also, maintaining our delegates status is very important to make sure we keep gaining a bigger foothold into said party. I, for one, think we should focus on IA first and see how it goes. Then, we see what improvements we need to make to go bigger for NV and so forth. Getting Ron/Rand in on this in some way would go a very long way even if they just did a facebook post that promo'd whatever FB page/date we make for this.
