Sen. Rand Paul now leading FreedomWorks presidential poll

President Obama hasn't been sworn in for a second term yet, but that hasn't stopped the speculation about 2016.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is leading a conservative website's interactive point-and-click poll for people to name their top choices for the Republican Party's next presidential nomination.

Mr. Rand is leading the field at You Chooose 2016, a website connected with FreedomWorks, the Washington-based nonprofit.

The top five Republicans in the unscientific poll are Mr. Paul, followed by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Texas congressman Ron Paul, former Florida congressman Allen West, and 2012 vice presidential candidate and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

You've got to accept that when you are on a

Randicon thread that you are going to get downvoted. It's a badge of honor to be downvoted by Neocons. Don't sweat the downvotes. Besides, it is the collectivists who get all worked up about how the rest of the herd thinks and being outside the mainstream.

Thank you

but really, I hate the voting system. (-: I don't think it helps.

Right...

I don't think you know what a neoconservative is if you're going to lump Rand into that category.

Maybe I don't know what a neoconservative is.

Merriam Webster defines it this way:

"a conservative who advocates the assertive promotion of democracy and United States national interest in international affairs including through military means"

Michael Nystrom's fists can punch through FUD.

Let me fix that for you

Neoconservative: A statist who advocates the assertive promotion of corporate and elitist interests in international affairs including through military means.

Take back the GOP and Restore America Now.

Mhmmm

And by that definition Rand definitely does not fit the bill.

I'm not trying to change your mind

but I'm curious what you think of his votes for sanctions against Iran, then justifying it as good strategy, and later voting for the 2013 NDAA and saying that it was going to pass anyway.

Other than this part of his voting record, he seems to be pretty conservative, which is why I think the Merriam Webster definition matches Rand pretty well.

Chirp! Chirp!

LOL!

I voted Ron Paul though.....who is 3rd.

Awesome

Think my sig has anything to do with it?

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

lol... I don't put too much

lol...

I don't put too much faith in the results of a relatively small poll that has been mentioned on the DP.

Usually when someone here first mentions the poll, it's followed by "you know what to do".

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

Ponder This...

If someone is being staged or advanced as a potential candidate for POTUS in the open and acknowledged by the propaganda-arm of globalist-collectivist government (the MSM), then you can rest assured that all those people so 'mentioned' are already vetted sufficiently by the 'establishment' to where that establishment feels safe in 'allowing' their possible election.

I am not alluding to this specific poll, but the advancement/floating/staging of certain candidates, Lil Rand is square amongst them.

Puzzle on that for a spell and then hold on to your wallet and the tatters of your liberty and run-far, run-fast.

That's right... Obama hasn't

That's right... Obama hasn't even been sworn in for his second term yet. OMG these next four years are going to feel endless. Like the worst parts of the 1970s all compressed into four years. :(

Looks like we

don't have to worry about Christie anymore, some serious hatred for his recent actions emerging.

Chris Christie

Now that's someone who I think would be too old to run.

Michael Nystrom's fists can punch through FUD.

Hmmm!

Too old to run for president or to old to actually RUN? I don't think he is too old to RUN but I doubt he can RUN very fast...although I don't think that would have to do with age ;-) My bad?

Christie will switch to

Christie will switch to Democrat if he wants to stay in politics.

Good point

I think we should start looking at some dirt on Rubio.
He is the main guy that could be a threat to Rand.

Thanks for a bump.
Enjoy your Sunday.
I'm off to the park to relax.
Need to take a break from the internet.
