Alex Jones Detained By TSA

Talk show host threatened with arrest for not removing shoes

Paul Joseph Watson | Infowars.com | January 7, 2013

Radio talk show host and ardent Homeland Security critic Alex Jones was detained by the TSA at Austin-Bergstrom airport earlier today and threatened with arrest for refusing to take his shoes off at a security checkpoint.

Traveling to New York to appear on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, Jones had already showed his ID as he approached the metal detector. Jones and colleague Rob Dew noticed that a large number of people across all age ranges were not removing their shoes as they walked through the metal detector. The x-ray body scanners were not in use.

As soon as he approached security, Jones was addressed by a TSA screener who said, “Hello Mr. Jones,” indicating that she knew who he was, and immediately ordered him to remove his shoes.

When Jones refused, citing the fact that innumerable other people had not removed their shoes, the TSA screener claimed that only under 12′s and over 75′s were not mandated to remove footwear under TSA policy.

Oh Paaaaaleeeeeaasssse!

AJ is a jackass. True, he does some stuff that actually helps the cause but I am pretty sure that if it actually came down to the wire he would bail. Like I have said here before on DP I take AJ with a grain of salt. He is more self-serving than godlike. If you want to call some mere human god, go with Ron Paul. Not saying HE is god either but AJ sure as hell is not!

He could have caved to the TSA Tyranny, but didn't.

Look at what not only they say, but what they DO. Alex is a DO-er of the word.

At least we can agree on this point.

Is there a video?

It's all just pics on Infowars. Didn't they do a video?

Article says there is video forthcoming

Curious huh?

FOIA on the security video anyone?

I never get touched by TSA

because I don't fly. When someone with handcuffs and a gun says "If you come here, I get to grope you" I do not PAY to go there.
I'm glad AJ stood up to them, I wish everyone would boycott the airlines until THEY make TSA stand down.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

It's convenient to say

"Everyone should boycott flying" when you don't depend on a job that involves lots of traveling.

Paradigm Shift

Maybe we should all stop needing the "lifestyles" that we are told are the "good life" which require jobs that involve lots of traveling. Why do we need bigger houses, newer cars, lots of stuff, all the newest gizmos etc? Get back to basics and simplify.

Doesn't it seem rather silly

To limit your maximum potential? I'm not saying that we shouldn't fight back and refuse to be searched or not go through the scanner machines - what I'm saying is we should do that rather than stop flying entirely.

Answer this: Would history have been better off if Rosa Parks had never gotten on that bus instead of sitting where she was told not to?

"If everyone" solutions are pipe dreams, not solutions.

That conceded, if everyone actually picked at date, and said "TSA stops the BS or we stop flying on this date" and the airlines stopped getting calls from people making reservations after that date, TSA would be back on the leash overnight. It is all fun and games until a corporate profit gets hurt.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

I LOVE this idea!

What can we do to make it a reality?

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.
-Thomas Paine

I don't fly either and I won't let my kids fly

However, my job doesn't require it. But I am kept away from long distance family. I have no economical way to see them.

So our choice is, get groped and irradiated or you can't see your family.....

Yeah that's freedom! Besides that, it's ripe for abuse. They know they have people over a barrel with a need to fly out for business or especially to get home. Some places aren't accessible by car so you might have to charter a boat. This means people submit to groping and humiliation under duress and threat. No better than being touched by a pervert with a knife to your throat.

Not being able to fly impacts how free you are. It's just not so easy to tell people not to fly.

Easier than telling them "You can't have my gun" will be.

But you are right, I consider it an unjust curtailment of my liberty. I LOVED to travel.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Same Here Fishy!

If I were ever to fly and was harassed by one of these idiotic morons, I probably would lose my temper and crush his windpipe (Ranger chock hold)

Yea, I know, I would be committing a felon..

So what!

At least their would be one less nazi 'son of a female dog..

Free market principles in action

Until we all stop patronizing tyranny it will continue to FESTER and GROW.

In my opinion change will come from people putting up a fuss

People who fly have to purposely opt out. The more it happens the more they are exposed. Resistance by non-compliance is much noisier than quietly not flying. Your lack of flying can be interpreted as a result from a slow economy and therefore nothing will change.

I can't and won't fly but those that do should opt out every time.

Wait, wait, wait...

Under 12 and over 75 don't have to remove shoes? But aren't these the age groups most often violated and groped because they are perfect mules for terrorists to use?

Oh the hypocrisy and utter foolishness of these post 9/11 laws we must obey and bend under.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

she KNEW who he was,

...and she decided to pick a fight, eh?

And this has never happened to him before, in any airport in America, since the TSA has become the obnoxious thorn in our sides???

OK.......he's got more show material to hook his audience with....

Interesting how there was no video.

That way the narrative can be edited at will. Since when does Alex Jones go to the airport without a cameraman? Does that strike anyone as ODD?

At best why would someone like AJ not be camera-ready as soon as he starts dealing with ANY public servant? Has he not learned anything about holding public servants accountable in the last 17 years?

Purposeful publicity stunt for tonight's interview

He wanted to stir the pot...

I'm glad he is stirring the pot. Any attention is good as far as i am concerned.

Hence no video.

Boy wouldn't that be a bummer if there was a casual passer-by with a camera phone - and the video record of the event were to surface huh?

No Red Carpet Treatment For Alex Jones.... WTF ?

Sorry no sympathy here. If your going to be a celebrity shit stirrer, don't expect to be treated as normal.
